I'll join. Will post friend code later today.
Drifting is the act of holding on R to take turns better. When accompanied by a left-right motion it becomes a powerslide.
"Snaking" (A real dumb term, it's not even what it's called), more formally known as straightsliding within MK64 and later MK
D time attack communities, is the process of consecutively powersliding in a fluid motion to achieve a higher top speed and forward accelleration than normally possible. Regarldess of what some largely incompetent players may tell you, straightsliding/snaking is not cheating. It's not even close.
Dr
afting is the completely unrelated concept of driving behind another racer to reduce wind resistance and therefore recieve a temporary boost in maximum speed.
So-called "falling off the level" glitches ARE A MYTH. They are a PRODUCT OF LAG. In order to compensate for the DS' lag problems MK
S employs a technology designed to reduce stress on the network that essentially guesses where the other racers you're playing with will be with correct updates occuring every second. While this causes some innaccuracies (particularilly with straightsliding causing the straightslider to appear extremely erratic) such as making it appear as if someone has fallen off the course, only to reappear later (when this happens,
they did not fall off. It only appears that way on your screen.), further ahead, this dramatically reduces the amount of lag experienced in online play. It's not cheating. I guarantee other players are seeing you do the same things.
