Yup that's true.However you ALWAYS go 1st (3 games=always started).

shadymove+bannete CG+strenghth charm=ko deoxys defence ex = Gardy KOes Right Back. Farmer before. But I havent seen a strenght charm in Banny.
 
You haven't seen a strength charm in Bannete??? Strange.
The first 2 cards I did put into my Banette/Ex deck were strength charm and crystal shard.

And with Holon Shrine coming in the next set, I think we will not hear much from Mercury.

Nah, Holon Shrine won't hurt Mercury that badly I think.

Plus, keep in mind people said the same thing about Battle Frontier.
 
well, i have played some of the best decks in the HL format with the deck and the best players who used those decks.

MErcury does very well.
in the HL format, i went 5-0 at 3 city championships(lost in the finals, in either 2 or 5th place) i had bad match ups(zappy manetric and trodes, spintail, and ZRE) so i know the deck is good, but sometimes it cant overcome some of the.... trickier decks that are faster to set up.

and the jury is still out on it since alot of the stadiums merc used are no longer viable choices as HL was rotated(desert ruins, magnetic storm etc) its a decent choice... but it can definately be improved.
 
OK Mercury is OK I guess.
IMO a deck that is even better is
Metagross/Deoxys Defense.
Slap 4 metals onto Deoxys D. and use Delta Reduction to reduce your opponents attacks by 70. Then if you have Gardy (EM) on bench you can technically reduce by 90. AND right now since Lugia ex and Steelix ex have lost so much popularity there aren't many pokes that can easily kill it. Banette is a problem but if you tech in Protective Orb you could be OK.
 
Scizor ex is significantly better than Deoxys HP Defense... if you're playing metagross, use Scizor. Deoxys HP Defense works pretty nicely in Mercury though. Too bad it's weak to Psychic.

Winning a few city championships with Saturn doesn't say much for the deck's viability.

While I'm unsure how many a person would normally get off in the DX-on metagame, in HL-on, I was getting off 6 backups a game (Turn 2, Turn 3, plus backups when I used each of my Rocket's Admin), with an average card draw of 4.
