Mewtwo Counter besides Dialga G?

Does one exist? Should one not be running a deck that...well, doesn't have Dialga G and Toxitank! :thumb:

Depends largely of the type of deck you are playing. Mismagius SF is something that fits in well if you're playing SP with tools like Unown G, Q, Expert Belt, Energy Gain.

Remember that Mewtwo has a Mewtwo counter counter:

Bubble Coat.

^stall until someone plays a bench guy, then warp and KO or something

That's what I was thinking, but wouldn't that require you to be up on Prizes and cards in your deck? They're not just gonna play something to the bench if they know what you're gonna do. There's probably another obvious answer for this one.

Or if they didn't have a bench pokemon just retreat and bring up a fully loaded pokemon all ready for a OHKO on mewtow. Unless you're playing a SP deck... then that wouldn't work.

This sounds stupid, but I've seen this in decks and have never actually figured out how it can be a counter, as they're both not Evolved Pokémon.

SP decks pull fast prizes. An opposing deck will hopefully negate this plan by playing a lone Mewtwo. This way no damage is possible. Shove your own Mewtwo out there and their plan epically fails, much like every other Mewtwo counter. This counter, however, also single handedly wins against unprepared SPs.

Not always neccessarily true. Most of the time, yes, but there are ways around Mewtwo even w/o a counter. Luxray's Bright Look, Garchomp's Dragon Rush, Drifblim FB's sniping (to Pixies, mostly, although he gets revenge KO'd something nasty next turn).

The best counters were already mentioned. In decks that run psychic, 1-1 shuppet-bannette pl. In decks that run fire, 1-1 ninetails. Ninetails is also useful against machump (colorshift to psychic if they have a pixie on the bench).

Starmie LA is also kind of nice, but not as good as Bannette PL.

Ok, so can someone please explain to me how Bannete PL is used as a Mewtwo Counter? Is it just for Loneliness?

So, in any given SP deck:
Pros to Mewtwo:
- big advantage against unprepared deck
- gets around Mewtwo counter counters
Cons to Mewtwo:
- needs to be charged up with Psychic Energy (so, your deck needs to run it or Rainbow/Multi)
- they can get around stall

Pros to Mismagius (the one I'm considering):
- no Energy needed to attack (meaning no wasted time to attach or needing to run a certain Energy)
- discards opponent's tools, so gets around Bubble Coat

Cons to Mismagius:
- one-time attack
- have to evolve it
- it discards your tools
- 3-4 tools required to be in play
- no way to get rid of him after attacking

Correct?

In Shuppet, you can also put a Memory Berry on Banette, play 3 Pluspowers, and Fade Out for 120. It only requires 1 Energy, so you have the element of surprise.

I think the best mewtwo counter if your running SP's is the new Weezing, 2 colorless for 90 damage, at the cost of a prize, BUT your opponent is stalling with mewtwo anyway and probably doesnt have an out. Also if your running luxchomp you already play double colorless

Gengar SF, plain and simple. not only is it a broken card, but it is the ultimate sniper, take out mewtwo with poltergeist or possibly let it get knocked out so that you have a chanc at fainting spell.
