More Fossils

It's about time.

It's funny since BT and I were talking about this the other day.

I'm sure they'll have Bodies that do cool stuff. Hopefully.

This makes Fossil decks even less playable but its an interesting change.

Its not going to happen but it'd be interesting to see Mysterious Fossil brought back with 10 HP and no bodies/powers however it can evolve into any of the fossil Pokemon.

Translations:

Old Amber:
Can't be damaged when it's on the bench

Helix Fossil:
When you attach a water energy to it from your hand, seacrch your deck for omanyte and evolve it. counts as evolving yada yada

Dome Fossil:
When you attach a fighting energy from your hand, search for Kabuto and evolve.

Omastar:
Pokepower:
ATM Rock on a stick (Devo all) when its played down (so one shot)

Attack isn't worth noting

Kabutops:
Pokebody:
Opponent can't play trainers.

FFC 70
Does 10 damage to opponents pokemon with damage counters on it

ok heres an odd question can i use a new fossil to evolve into an old s1? thats gunna be fun to try and logicate ( woot made up word) but yeah ambers not searchable unless it says counts as a fossil

The new fossils should be able to evolve into the older Kabutops, Aerodactyl, and Omastar, shouldn't be any problem there as the Pokemon names they evolve into are still the same, even if the older ones state they evolve from Mysterious Fossil. At least from what the wording on what Dome and Helix say I think, you search your deck from Kabuto or Omanyte respectively and place them on the fossil, which counts as evolving then. This is different than, say, playing Kabuto or Omanyte from your hand onto the Fossil card. Rare Candy should also work in evolving older Fossil Pokemon onto the new Fossil cards.

For Mysterious Fossil into the new Aero/Kabu/Oma, there is where the problem is. I'm willing to bet that the new Fossil Pokemon state they evolve from the one certain fossil, making them incompatable with Mysterious Fossil. Should be ok I'd think if you used Rare Candy to skip around the Stage 1 and go directly into the Stage 2.

If it's not okay to evolve the mysterious fossil into the Omanyte, it's not okay to rare candy the mysterious fossil into the Omastar.

Look at the cards...

IF you look at the DP4 Fossils Pokemon you will see that they each state that they only evlove from the new fossils. So you can not evolve theese new Fossil Pokemon from Mysterious Fossil. Likewise you can not evolve Old Amber to the Delta Areodactyl as the Delta Areodactyl states that it evloves from Mysterious Fossil. So Pre DP Pokemon still evolve from Mysterious Fossil, DP Pokemon from the new fossils only.

Can we get an Officail on this? i know its to early to make atrue ruling of spoilers but any chance for a possible idea Pop?( if your lurking out there)

They do not make ruling on cards until they are released in the US. So no official rulings on this issue until DP4 is released here this Spring.

There are, however, official Japanese rulings for cards that are out in Japan. Apparently, it works like this.

Mysterious Fossil can only evolve into an old Kabuto. Dome Fossil can only evolve into a new Kabuto. However, any Kabuto can still evolve into any Kabutops. Likewise, Rare Candy can be used to put any Kabutops onto either Mysterious Fossil or Dome Fossil.
