After speaking with the "National Weather Service", the "BIG NORTH TEXAS POKEMON WEEKEND" is CANCELED!!!:mad: The "Grand Prairie" and "Lewisville" City Championships will be postponed until next weekend.:wink: Below are the details.

*Grand Prairie~City Championship*

*Lewisville~City Championship*

Date: January 21, 2007
Registration Starts: 12:00 noon
First Round Starts: 1:00pm


With the "freezing rain" starting at 1:00PM today and continuing through the night, the safety of MP Birch's players is the most important thing to consider in my decision making.:thumb: MP Birch is sorry for any inconvience that this may have caused for anyone.:frown: Stay warm this weekend and PLEASE be CAREFUL if you must get out this weekend!!!:thumb: :thumb:

Per Fox4; The Grand Prairie area now has ice storm warnings with temps now at 30; driving is ok now; however by noon and afternoon expect icing - Ft Worth has cancelled the Stock Show Parade and many schools have cancelled classes

If you have live in Texas a extended period of time (Me 22 years) then you know, to expect anything, and expect the worse when it happens. Better to be safe than sorry.

Yea, thats what I was hearing on TWC Channel 362 on Direct TV. 1-2PM is when everything should start freezing over, and tonight a Hard freeze will be occuring with more precipitation to follow tonight and into tomorrow.

Just to echo MP Birch, Safety Is The Most Important Thing And Being Part Of His Staff, I Fully Support This Decision. Not To Mention Kara And I Just Got Back Out To Go To Walmart For Some Supplies And I Talked To Some People Form Azle That Were There. They Said Hwy 199 Just Northwest Of Fort Worth Is Icing Already In Some Areas And The Bridges Are Definitely Beginning To Ice. We Encountered Some Ice On The Lake Worth Bridge As Well. So I Think This Was An Excelelnt Call By MP Birch!

MP Birch has spoken with the owners of "Cosmic Comics & Cards" and "Game Exchange". I have set these events up for next weekend as posted in a previous post. Those players that do get onto PokeGym, my website, or have not given me your email address. Please contact MP Birch by "PM" or email and I will add you to my email list. MP Birch had posted on PokeGym, my Xanga website, and emailed everyone that I have on my email list that these "City Championships" were canceled before 10:00am this morning. I tried calling "Cosmic Comics & Cards", but they had no "voicemail". Again, I am sorry for any inconvience that may have caused anyone. I stand by my decision to cancel these events because of the weather conditions that are forecast to come into the D/FW area. And after consulting the "National Weather Service", I made my decision.

Thanks and I hope to see ya'll next weekend for these "City Championships".

No, Xanga's better for what Birch intends to do, because people without Xangas can actually make comments, whereas with 'space, they can't.

Watch the news tonight and watch all the wrecks on tv to see that the right the decision was made. We can't make it on the 20th either but at least we our warm and safe from crazy drivers today.

The BIG North Texas and(this time) Oklahoma Weekend is coming up this Saturday and Sunday, January 20-21, 2007!!!:thumb: We are scheduled for "NO ICE".:nonono: :nonono: This time around in the D/FW area. MP Birch hopes to see you at these events as these are the last "City Championships" for the "2006-2007 Season.:eek:
