Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

MSF45's D/P Wi-Fi Tourny! 1st Place Skarmbliss; 2nd Place Pablo; 3rd Place Regis Neo!

Any prize suggestions? I have a few things in mind but I'd like to get some opinions from a few people before I just decide on a prize. I'd like to put up a prize that satisfies everyone.

I was actually thinking about going a bit more extreme than that. The prize for first place in this tournament will probably be getting a bit more then what's expected. If I wasn't in such a hurry I'd tell you more but I'll post it a little later.

Approximately four hours until the entrances will be locked throughout the tournament. The prize is now determined and updated into the original post. Thanks for your cooperation and participance.

i honestly didn't think the prize would be something of value like that.

The only other thing I think should be changed or anything, is that Sleep Clause should be added to the rules. To stop someone from speed hypnosis'ing everything with gengar.

Wow, I didn't even see that. In addition, Freeze clause should also be implemented I think.

Hey, sorry I'm a bit late. Is it too late to sign up? I'm like 35 minutes over the limit I think D:

Nope, not too late to sign up.

Spoink: Hold on, give me a minute, I'll check and get back to you on that.

By the way, I'll extend the sign-up by an hour. So in an hour entrances will be locked.

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

Hypnosis has extremely bad accuracy to begin with, plus if I have these different clauses and stuff in, it ruins the whole purpose of specific pokemon's abilities and even Lum Berry. If you guys are worried about these things than counter attack them. It's all part of strategy.

Honestly, I've got to say I completely disagree with that. I hardly think an accuracy stat of 70 is "extremely bad." Sleep-Clause doesn't ban the use of Sleep-inducing moves, it just bans disabling a whole team using Hypnosis/Sing/ect. I'm pretty sure everyone here will agree with me on this. I'm guessing that alone blows your arguement, but to argue your other points, Lum berry can still be used to stop the other 5 status effects. No pokemon's abilities are ruined (if by abilities you mean their unique "Ability") because if it has anything to do with sleep, you can self-induce it. There's also no "counter attack" to Hypnosis. You're either faster than them and attack them first, OHKOing, or you get put to sleep. All the reasons I just gave you are why the Sleep-Clause was invented and implemented in the first place.

Well, yeah, an entire team of sleep using moves doesn't seem fair at all but I doubt anyone would even try using a team like that because if accuracy misses, then it messes up a lot. I can add a rule stating that you can only have 3 pokemon that either freeze and/or put to sleep the opponent if you like.

That's not the point. Gengar alone outspeeds alot of pokemon, and a standard move on Gengar is Hypnosis. Add in the possibility of Gengar with Choice Scarf + any good attacking pokemon to switch in, and you've got a broken team.

You can argue that it can miss, but this clause was invented for a reason.

Why don't we take a vote if you still don't agree?

Then what should I do then? Ban all Pokemon that induce putting a Pokemon to sleep and ban all attacks that may freeze an opponent? I don't think that seems fair at all either.

sleep and freeze will always have clause effects no matter what kind of tournament it is because having 2 pokemon that are either asleep or frozen can cause an unfair advantage that way.

There aren't any attacks that cause instant freeze that I can think of so that's basicly just chance. Putting a Pokemon to sleep with Hypnosis and Sleep Powder and such have bad accuracy (70% and 75%). They usually miss whenever I do it and sometimes it doesn't even work due to Lum Berry or a specific Pokemon ability.

I agree.. a whole team with sleep inducing moves is broken and should be banned from tournament play.. but the way you made it sound, Spike, was that Hypnosis on just Gengar was bad and should be banned.

Then you flip flop to saying on a whole team.. now you're back to it being just on Gengar.

A sporepunching Breloom with Quick Claw and luck is no different. If it goes first, boom.. instant sleep and punching to follow, should that be banned as well? It's a lone pokey using a sleep inducing move.. and it's not standard, just suggested. It's not on mine, anyway.

Anyway, sleep clause would be good to add.. but you can't ban one move from a single pokemon. I haven't seen a "no Hypnosis on Gengar and/or really really fast pokeymans" rule, yet.

You're supposed to add Sleep Clause into the rules, lol. It means you can't put more than 1 of your opponent's pokemon to sleep at a time.
