I used to be an Xbox 360 owner, but sold it more than a year ago, as my girlfriend wanted me to get rid of it (should have got rid of her instead, but it's another story).
When it came time to play GTA IV, I did some research and decided to give the PS3 a try, especially with the new Metal Gear coming out next month.
Well, i cannot believe what a piece of junk the PS3 is, and not just because it broke within 9 days, when they released a new firmware update. Playing online is difficult and not cohesive, the store and menu are counter intuitive, and the supposedly "future-proof" PS3 hard drive is filling up, already, simply from game installs. If i had not purchased and opened over $200 in games, I would have taken this piece of junk back right away and grabbed an elite 360.
Now, as I pack my PS3 up, to ship to Sony tomorrow, I feel as though I wasted $400, adn should have purchased a 360 elite. At least Microsoft gave me free games when i ran into troubles.
When I told the PS3 phone reps that my consumer confidence was terribly shaken with the PS3, and asked how Sony could reassure me that my $400 was spent well, they offered nothing.
So now I must perform my commercial activism and use word of mouth to share with others that the PS3 is an all-around disappointing experience, and not just because mine broke a little more than a week after purchase (though that does play a role in it).
