Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Next TCG Set Named - Platinum--Rising Rivals

ninetales1234 made a good point. The makers of pokemon cards make different game mechanics such as: Delta, EX, *pokemon, and now sp. in 3 years from now, they will have new ones and the sp's and maybe even lvXs will be out of the format. they should revive the delta pokemon and ex pokemon and have every other set or 2 feature delta, EX, lvX or SP so that they stay in format.

I kind of wish they would have left in in english as its going to be interesting watching people try and figure out what it means....

I do like that Gallade.

yet, how would they "keep it in the format" while still adding in new ideas to keep the game "new and exciting"? I feel they could of held onto delta a while longer, but other than that, i feel the pace set is a good one. They usually print enough sets with this mechanic to have it sit in the format for a year or 2, and then let it die out. Think how much would have changed of last format if the Holon Engine was still legal.

i do agree that the pack design is kind of overused...

The artwork on Gallade is fantastic!

I can't wait to pick up a couple Gallade and Luxray from this set!

Rising rivals? Comeon, they could've thought of something better. Even rising tide would be more appropriate >.>

EDIT: Wow I just thought of an amazing deck for RR

Why's everyone bashing the 4 in Japanese, I think it's a great thing. We could use a little more japanese text on our cards imo.

Otherwise, decent set name, kinda lame keeping the Platinum tag though. Rising Rivals would have been an ok enough name to not have Platinum in it as well. But w/e...

sweet, the gallade is a psy type this time, that'll make for some interesting game play, but i'm not a big fan of the sp pokemon, i don't think they should have been basic.

If mend did even ten damage it would be a great attack.

Ugh... I would not want to have to deal with Healix again... especially not an energy gained one that can be Bronzonged off of and poketurned or healered or life herbd... Terrifying... I'm GLAD it doesnt do damage.

it's focused at 9-year-old kids. Therefore, the names of the set have to have something that will catch the eye of said kids.

Just to let you know, I know a few "of this age group" and they thought it was extremely corny and they could've used something better and they love the TCG...

I can't wait for this set but the pack art really isn't that great compare it to the PL or SF pack art, well what else is there to say, the pack art fails...

IF they didn't want to just use "4", they could have used "E4".
That would have looked similar.

I actually like the set name and the kanji. The pack design, not so much. These ones are garish, don't have interesting Pokemon on them, and I had hoped they would keep the black borders for a while.

So since I'm a bit lost with which sets they keep tearing apart for our sets and whatnot...

This is pretty much the rest of the BET set, along with perhaps some Pulse of the Frontier? Or just BET and some other oddball cards they've neglected to print?
