Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

NORTHWEST Regional Championship - Salem OR

I am getting really excited...Regionals are a little more than a week away....

CAN YOU SAY.......NW REGIONALS ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Really nice affordable Hotel

Pokemather suggested this place and we stayed there for States and it was fantastic. $60.00 a night, very clean with a super nice indoor pool. Plus it is only 3 miles from the Fairgrounds where the Tournament is. If you are looking for a place to stay this motel is great. (A light continental breakfast is included in the price as well)

Rust Bucket or whatever your SN is (i don't pay attention) you may have to bring a TV since nobody else seems to be interested in doing so.

Also, I never alluded to a n00b getting into the world championships, i'm just saying that if they played, there's still a high chance that the n00b could win. Hence, the game is silly.

There is zero chance a n00b could win worlds even if they entered. There is way too much strategy in the game. Great decks and great players have always won. A player far lower in skill in a field such as the world championship wouldn't have a chance.

^Any competitive deck can be beaten by a T1 RC Infernape DRE. That takes no skill to get out what-so-ever. Mario and even Farfetched could create similar loses of expierenced players, and sometimes Absol's too. Anyway, looking forward to this (until i get killed by the computer =/)!

That alone isn't going to win a tournament. And at least with Infernape, you are making a deck with very good chances of getting a fast ko. That takes strategy to makea deck with the right amounts of energy, search etc. It's not practical to think that will happen over and over again.

obviously you don't read the posts you reply to. i've said again and again this has nothing to do with worlds. the greatest player of all time can get lucksacked by any other player. the end. game has less skill than people pretend it does.

Your last two replies mention worlds. If there is a serious gap in skill, the weaker player has very little chance of winning. Just because the game isn't 100% skill doesn't mean it is silly to try to get better at it in hopes of doing better. You play the video games right? Those certainly aren't 100% skill. "The attack missed." But everyone knows that a better player will usually win, so it's still worth improving yourself.
If the game is less skill than people think, why is there consistancy in who wins? Because there certainly is a lot.

I enjoy playing. It's a fun game. Completely flawed as far as "skill" goes, but a fun game none the less. It's like Uno or any other kid game that's based mostly on luck. Still fun and colorful and not boring like magic and yu-gi-oh.

When I first started playing, I thought that too - along with the kid who can buy the best (most expensive) cards wins. But after a couple of years, I've realized that strategy and deck design also play a big roll.

Similar to the video games - you've got to pick the right team and then EV train them to get the stats right. And then there is a little luck - in your matchups and in the game itself. My son finished third at the JAA tournamtent in Seattle becuase his opponent lucked out with two critical hits in a row.

We all know that it is a foregone conclusion that Tyler will win the 3rd striaght Regional Championship, the question is who will be 2nd this year?!?!?!?!?
