okay, jumping around like a crazed maniac is slightly over the top

poliwag 93 seems to explain his points better than me. id say the same, but the way i express it is too complicated for some.
its funny, the more i go on this thread,the more people seem to be against the wii. mabe because chris is slightly repetetive, much like nintendo games realy. when i read his post,i think of a scrauny little man,with huge glasses, and an unshaven bumfluff beard. oh and quite long curley hair.not pretty.

Eh, I like the wii + 360 combo more by the second. The PS3 starts to look more and more like an expensive xbox 360 with subpar online play (why play resistance when I can get halo 3 or gears of war?). sixaxis is a joke, it isn't going anywhere control wise, you might as well devote the entire game to motion sensing if you want that type of control (give me a break, that thing was developed in two weeks, plus they removed the force feedback, not a good trade-off). It's pretty obvious the six axis is going to stay a gimmick and only a few games are going to use it. Watch when Sony releases the real dualshock 3 with real force feedback.

I get articles about how the PS3 is going to be upgradeable to play newer games, what the heck am I buying? A PC? The point of getting a console is so you never have to go through the trouble of upgrading it. I see more appealing games for my current PS2 than the line up of PS3 games (note to self: start playing valkyrie profile 2). Sony really should have shut their mouth on some of the stuff they were planning for this monstrosity. My only regret is I can't get the next Final Fantasy game, which looks pretty sweet.

Well, I'm already stuck with a wii, I got sucked in by the stupidly low price (eh, I needed to update my gamecube anyway) and the fact that I need my smash bros. fix, along with waiting for chrono trigger and super mario rpg to hit on virtual console. I might as well go with the rest of the games coming out for it. But even this system leaves much to be desired. There's just been nothing that's interested me other than zelda, sports, and COD. I guess when metroid and smash hit that'll change, but that's far off. My DS is seeing more play than my wii right now.

Either get a Wii for fun or a 360 for online play. God I hate repeating myself.

That's no better than saying "Nintendo sucks lol wtf i dont want 2 play that kiddie stuff.." Okay, it's slightly better because it's actually in english, but other than that... :^/

PS3s upgrade is so simple its untrue.
its the same as PSPs.
go to settings, click on systen update, it searches for a later versian, if there is one, it downloads the patch, and then you click upgrade now, done (i made it sound slightly hard)
metal gear 4, tekken 6, worth gettin PS3 for? YES!
think PS3 not as a game machine, but as a 400 quid media center. then it looks appealing.

Wii upgrades, then, must be truly impossible. Step one: you're done. OMG! Still don't really see how any of that makes a console.

My PC could do most of the media stuff PS3 does if I wanted it to. Honestly, the same goes for many people. They've openly admitted they're (Sony) basically trying to replace the PC (Mac, w/e) in homes, which sounds like an extremely crazy idea.

To close, here's Ken Kutaragi in an interview with Newsweek:
"The media tree. That was my dream, so the dream has come true. They sent out one of the PlayStation 3's to my home, so I happened to realize [my family members] are watching their photos and they are ripping music, and the experience is quite elegant, quite fast and comfortable. I have no idea how to use the current PC for that kind of application."

Can't confim this as I don't own one, but I was googling a few days ago and found an article staing that the ps3 actually forces a shutdown after so many hours of gameplay and was intended to be there according to a sony rep. Anyone actually own one that can confirm/deny this?

I read that too (except they don't shut down, they freeze). I assumed it referred only to the kiosk models that were sent out. Otherwise there would have been a huge outcry already from the common man. Though, I DID see a frozen PS3 the other day at Wal-Mart and it was working again the next day. At any rate, sounds like more Sony PR %$#^. Freezing up=/=function. Reboot=function.

Same. But that's just because the DS is awesome incarnate. <3 EBA. Got me playing Ouendan again. I picked up Ouendan after getting stuck on Sweatin' level Jumpin' Jack Flash, played Captain level Ready! Steady! GO! and beat it first try to unlock Cheerleader mode. I was stuck on it forever too. :x I'm not sure if this means Ouendan is easier, but I'm sure getting my butt kicked on Cheerleader difficulty. <_< /off topic

The systems at stores for demoes are always messed up. Theres only Wii demoes at the Mall tour and PS3's and 360's are sitting in their precious case, but they're frozen or broken! Cause you have animals coming breaking open the controller and taking off those thumb guards on the joystick and making the controllers an all oily like feel.
 
IMO PS3 probably can't and won't fail but Sony will lose a lot of marketshare to go with the significant loss of mindshare they've experienced.

But I hope PS3 does sell significantly lower than Sony hopes to achieve, so they won't overextend so badly next time around. I can just see Sony escalating the $600 juggernaut archetype next gen into a $1000 PC-in-a-Box concept if they get away with their excess this gen.

Hardware upgrades, or do Sony fanboys not understand the difference?
 
i agree, none of the systems will "fail". Though there will be a loss of marketshare. Like the gamecube, possibly one of the worst systems ever (no classics on it), but nintendo is still making systems and games.

Im still gonna stick with MS. I can almost gurantee that they will win next winter. Why? Halo 3.

I think you guys are underestimating the power this game has. Halo IS mainstream gaming for people over ten. There are girls in my school who NEVER play video games, cept Halo 2 (and maybe Guitar Hero :tongue: ). It is arguabley the most appealing to people 20-30 (maybe older). Sorry Smash Bros, however fun you may be, you are not very popular (i cant wait tho :tongue: ). Same with Metal Gear Solid, its excellent, but not very mainstream.

Mainstream gaming does not have to "talk down" to people like I feel Nintendo is doing, Halo is a perfect example, you can suck at it, or be good, but most people have fun playing it.

Nintendo would be better off right now (sorry if this sounds redundunt) with having a little less "kiddy" games.

YES GUITAR HERO ROCKS!!! this is one of the most awsome games ever!!! i play propper guitar and love guitar hero 2. 40 quid and worth every penny!
by the way; yeah sony blows so much that the PS2 was like the god of consoles compaired to xbox and cube. supid narrow minded nintendo fan-boy. its quite funny, you cant get anything for cube any more! my mate found the best usage for cube; he lobbed it out of his upstairs window! love the english way!
