Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

OREGON State Championships - March 13, 2010 (NEW Info)

If Jane "joined" your team at States... how does that count as a team win, its not like any of you had any influence on his deck choice or his list at all. And when was he approached to join your team? Was it durring registration before the tournement started or was it after the 7th round was over and you noticed him among the top players of the final swiss standings going into the Top 16?

I would like to thank all who signed up in the ds side event-
I would like to thank the staff- both the ds staff and the POP staff for making the ds side event a fun thing to do in support of us vid gamers.
I would like to see the ds attendees numbers reach the 100+ mark,
so I am on the recruit......
( and yes, a few of you who I know and do have ds games- you can't sit out for March like you did this time...... you know who you are! )
I will see yall in March, and I hope to see you ds players again.

Well said, Sir.

I understand that the VG is little brother to the mighty TCG, but I appreciated the opportunity to compete, and was delighted to take home the Senior's top prize. It should be stated though that many of the teams I faced were still playing by last years' 'no-legends' rule, which made for lopsided wins.

Mini Lad took second in VG Juniors, and we both came away happy with cool prizes at our first State's experience.

I don't know if I'll be able to compete next weekend... in my very OWN backyard, as I'll be looking after Tiny Lad, but my teammates will definitely be there... and they are much, much better than me.

Congrats to Ian W. for his Junior TCG win; many thanks to Ryan M for ironing out my deck, and congrats for making VG top 5, showing great potential as a TCG/VG double threat.

...and special thanks to JandPDS for pointing out that Oregon was even hosting a VG tourney; just like the WA state lottery reminds us, 'You can't win if you don't enter.'

Congrats on you victory in the Video Game Tournement. You built an awsome team and deserved to win.
Don't feel bad about your trading card performance, my 1st states I went 2-4, and in after a year of practice I went 0-6 in my 2nd States. To bad you can't claim the Washington title as well, but it will give someone esle the chance to win.

Thanks J, but this just in...

My Lady has found not one, but TWO sitters for Tiny Lad. (If you were to meet Tiny Lad, you'd realize that a 2:1 sitter ratio is good... 3:1 would be better.)

Which means both Mini Lad and myself will be able to shuffle up and play again.

I'm smiling as I type this...

Thats is awesome, I am very glad you will both be able to play again this weekend. Good luck winning the Video Game tittle in Washington as well.

it was about 2-3 weeks ago IIRC..

and i count everyone that joins the team as a win :p
you dont have to have done anything but join to rack up a win haha

@ little lad- yeah, most of the teams I battled against were "lopsided", but I hope this will change for the March Tourny.
I was able to use Giratina- And since now that HG/SS is out, you can count on some of the new legends being used.
I know that the VG is "a shadow" (side event) to the TCG- but the popularity is picking up.
Also- I would like to point out that in the electronic games thread, there is a Gym Leader challenge for anyone interested in getting in some good battles, have fun, practice your stratagy, win some cool stuff- so, feel free to check it out.
I look forward to some great battles in March- so, recruit as many ds players as you can, we gotta hit 100+ sing ups!

Seeing as this was my first States Tourney, I wasn't sure what to expect at it. But i must say My Family had a Wonderful time playing in the TCG. I was the only one playing in the Ds Tourney sadly, but i'm glad i did. Now that HG/SS is out i can play my own Team. Not to say i didn't appreciate Kayhon from allowing me to use his Pokemon to enter. I appreciated that very much. But i was at a disadvantage having not been familiar with the Pokemon much. I wish i could attend Regionals Next month, but we will be in California that week. I've considered playing there, but we fly in and out the day of the Tourneys. So no chance of playing at one.
