Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Platinum - Arceus: Zapdos [G], Toxicroak, and Gengar LV X Revealed!

Nidoqueen in Gengar would usually be better to power up for ruthless tail, but, occasionally Gengar X's attack could be useful. Level down is very good though.

Toxicroaks mediocre but I like the double effects from energies, makes him more versitile.

Toxicroak is basically the better of Kingdra, IMO. T1 Energy T2 Energy and attack, where the Kingdra would not attach the second energy. It does more damage than Kingdra (80 by the time your turn comes back around) and can 2HKO most Pokemon in the format. Of course it has less HP etc, but that's probably offset by the fact that Toxi is Stage 1 and requires no Rare Candy, and can be back into play (albeit without energy) right away with the use of Pokemon Rescue and Time-Space-Distortion (has everyone forgotten about that card?)

I like that gengar lv.X a lot, I think it could really disrupt a lot of decks (luxApe anyone?) lol

Gengar Lv.X would be playable and interestring, but still balanced card if it wasn't for that terrible SF Gengar. Now it just makes Fainting Spell more broken than it already by giving 140 HP and x2 weakness and by shutting of some options to counter it (Heatran Lv.X to burn it down and Dialga G Lv.X to block Nidoqueen). I don't think that Gengar takes over total domination like Gardevoir did, but with D6 as standard randomizer, it will be a huge threat for any player who tries to win with skill.

Zapdos and Toxicroak are decent, but not that good. At least better than the stuff the showed us before (Rapidash).

Gengar Lv X- Nidoqueen would give Gengar problems because your going through all that work, just so you can spread 30 damage counters on each of your opponent's Pokemon. The Poke-Power Level Down is nice however, since you can level down. Oh, say Blaziken Lv X and quickly KO the Blaziken FB itself with Poltergeist if you wanted to. Be careful not to devolve Luxray Lv X because it would be very foolish to let your opponent get another chance to use Bright Look xD.

Toxicroak has a ton of potential imo. Being able to deal out 70 damage (Including the poison) in T2 is absolutly sick! You can OHKO foes, such as Luxray Lv X, Blaziken FB Lv X (After the side effect of Jet Shoot), and OHKO's any non fully evolved stage 1 Pokemon. If only there were other cards that can effectivly combo with Toxicroak.

Zapdos G- Garbage...

Man, the Gengar card is sooo broken.

Mother Gengar builds are going to be so much better now... Players are going to have a hard time getting 140 damage w/o activating fainting spell with NidoQueen's body going... oh yeah, and no retreat cost, either....

And with the spread, metal gengar will show up more too now... -20 HP, spread damage... makes him a lot more flexible.

Is it just me too or is it just really cool that with his resistance he can actually survive that crazy 150 damage from flygon?

The Gengar is great, the trick is however to know when to use the attack. Let's say you use it at a certain moment and knock out like 3 Pokemon for using it? The thing is, treat Gengar SF as if it only got an HP boost and a cool Power without the attack until needed. This will make both Metal Gengar and Mother Gengar amazing.

This set has 'Return of DuskGar' written all over it... Even with Nidoqueen in consideration. Spread's gaining power again, and that can't be denied.

Now, Tangrowth... That poses a problem for Gengar.

i was thinking of playing toxicroak and now with that name it's 100% that i will.

its actually not half bad either, 60+poison for 2, nice type (luxray :D) only problem would be gyarados.. i dunno, maybe d some tricks to kill it

GOD I love toxicroak. I just wish he was competitive at all...no way that thing stands up in a Gyarados format...not to mention Gardy/Gallade getting DCE back in the next set.

Toxicroak is basically the better of Kingdra, IMO. T1 Energy T2 Energy and attack, where the Kingdra would not attach the second energy. Kingdra can attack for 80 damage for 1 water energy.
Toxicroak attacks for 60 + poison given you have exactly a fighting and a psychic energy attached
Kingdra has 130 HP.
Toxicroak has 90 HP.

Which one to choose!
