Pokémon And Nintendo Team Up To Combat Trading Card Piracy

My wife insists on a correction.
She uses the double-o name to refer to Pokemon stuff that clutters the house, not to refer to me.
Not as funny, though.

We had some fakes show up at league last week. The boy had NO idea....he got them in packs at a local large retail store. He gave me the cards to show to a few people that I wanted to check them out, and we printed PokePop's article to show his Mom...what should we do with the fakes and the information as to where they came from??

Yeah, it's really bad and the worst thing is that they don't even know that they are fake. Ppl get cards off the internet or retail stores and give them to their children for Christmas, only to find that they're fake.:nonono:

If you spot a card at your league or at a tournament that you know is a fake, the OWNER OF THE CARD (or parent if the owner is a minor) should do one of the following:

Option 1

Contact [email protected] with the following information:

Card owner's name (or parent's name) and contact information
Name and address of the store where the card was purchased
Approximate date of purchase
Scan of the card in question
Scan of the packaging (if still available)

Please make sure that it is clearly indicated in the email that you believe the card to be counterfeit.

Option 2

Mail the following to PUI:

Card owner's name (or parent's name) and contact information
Name and address of the store where the card was purchased
Approximate date of purchase
The card in question
The packaging (if still available)

Please make sure that it is clearly indicated in the letter that you believe the card to be counterfeit.

The letter should be sent to:

Pokémon USA, Inc.
Attn: Customer Service
333 108th Ave NE Suite 1900
Bellevue, WA 98004

Additional information

PUI will not replace counterfeit cards with official cards. We will, however, investigate the issue and pass it on to our legal team if we deem that there is sufficient proof that the card in question is not legitimate.

If you contact us via email, we may request that you send the card in question to us to use as part of the investigation. If a card is mailed to us and it is legitimate, it will be returned. Counterfeit cards that are mailed to us will not be returned.

If you spot a card in an eBay auction that you know is a fake, you should email [email protected] with a link to the auction and the reason that you believe that the card is fake.

I just came back from confirming that a Just $1 two minutes from my league location is selling fakes. The DP and MT packs looked completely real except for a slight thickness variation in the packaging. Had I not already thought they were fake, I would have never suspected. The PK packs looked like they were incorrectly cut.

After buying a pack and telling the two people there that the cards were fake, one guy responds casually: "Of course. If they were real, they would be more expensive." :nonono:
