Articles: They must be well written, interesting, and have good spelling and punctuation. This is official content, not just random posts. Again, images are desirable.
Decks: We have a format. Check out the existing deck articles to see what we want.
Pokebeach already covers news, and a lot of the time it doesn't get it until somebody finds it and posts it on the Pokegym. The OP age group changes and the tournament structure changes were confirmed here first. There were rumors on Pokebeach first, but Kevin 89 posted the link to the confirming site before it was on any other open-to-the-public site. Just one example out of many. If you really want to be on top of news, simply affiliate yourself with Pokebeach (you may have done this already, but I wouldn't know it, which means that even if you had a link to their site up, you wouldn't truly be affiliated with them).
Articles and decks are already being posted. Some of the Featured Article section deck reviews that people posted haven't been moved to the Archetypes section, and it's been months and months and months (you've either forgotten about them or didn't move them intentionally - either way, you're to blame). There are articles all over the place, being posted in TCG News and Single Card Strategy. "What Kind of Player Are You?"-esque stuff pops up every once in a while. I remember that article, where you were a Spike, a Jimmy, or a Bob (or something like that) from a long time ago. I remember links to some of Ness's really old posts about making yourself a better player.
But I realize you're asking for players to post that kind of stuff here before it goes anywhere else and we have to link to it. Well, that's just impossible. Sites like Lafonte have been created to share information with players deemed worthy of said information, without having to share it with the rest of the public. And there is nothing you can do about it. Lafonte-type players will argue that it's you who have driven the leetists away from the PokeGym, but they're only using that as a tool to try and get you to unban those members who deserve to be banned. That's not what I'm advocating. I'm saying that the reason Lafonte members don't post here is irrelevant. The fact is, they just don't. Accept the mediocre articles and archetype reviews that you're already getting.
As for the PokeBeach needing translators, affiliation with PokeBeach would solve that. But even without PokeBeach, Bangiras, a member of the PokeGym, posts spoilers for each new set that comes out in Japan as quickly as she can manage. On this board (this board being PokeGym). Why do you need translators? She's already volunteered, and diligently doing the work each time a new set comes out! =/
I'm not a member of Lafonte. But I don't share my ideas with the PokeGym. I'm just as guilty of leetism as any member of any exclusive board. I used to type of little articles now and then. Search for "Taking the 'counter' out of 'Countergym'." (something like that) using the search function and you'll find an example of what I used to contribute. I'm done with that though. How can you make people with a mindset similar to mine share what they have to offer? This is obviously rhetorical, because the answer is "you can't."
Perhaps, in rebuttal to this, you'll answer that you aren't interested in having Lafonte members post their stuff on the PokeGym. Who's going to do articles, then? Ordinary members? That's what you've been getting. Regular members are constantly putting their stuff up. So what are you really asking for when you say you want deck reviewers and for people to submit articles to the PokeGym (believe it or not, this one isn't rhetorical - what are you trying to accomplish by asking for what you're already getting? It's baffling).
The PokeGym is fine the way it is. Maybe ignorance isn't bliss, but it isn't necessarily detrimental, either. Not in this case, to be sure.
