Bonus Chapter

Chase slowly woke up and then after realizing what had happened he sat straight up.
Chase: "A Nightmare! It's gotta be a nightmare!"
Ralts (Telepathically): Sorry it's real! Chase looked down onto the living room floor and saw Lucas sitting in his green bean bag seat with Spiny sitting next to him and Ralts standing on Spiny's back. Chase then rubbed his head and then checked his cell phone. His phone didn't get any service probably due to his mother moving and canceling his service. It showed the date May 6, 2010. Nearly 2 years and 4 months since he was last home.
Lucas: "Had a nice nap Chase?" Chase rubbed his forehead, and then got up from the couch.
Chase: "I guess so. I just still can't believe we didn't actually make it all the way back home. Chase was about to walk away when he found himself unable to move. Ralts was using Disable to freeze Chase.
Ralts: Hey, if I didn't absorb Dialga's and Palkia's powers we'd all be dead now. I did my best so a "thank you" would be nice. Ralts' eyes stopped glowing white and Chase regained control over his body.
Chase: "Yeah, I guess so. Thanks for saving us Ralts." Chase got up and headed for the glass sliding door to the back yard.
Lucas: "Where are you going Chase?"
Chase: "Nowhere." Chase slid open the glass door as he put his shoes on then headed outside. The sun was setting behind the house telling him that it was now late evening. Chase felt as though life took a turn for the worse. He had no cell phone, no home, and no Pokemon collection. Lucas then joined him outside with Spiny and Ralts behind him.
Lucas: "You ok Chase?"
Chase: "Not really. Hey, where's AJ?"
Lucas: "With mom and dad shopping at Fred Meyers. Vik called and said he's home with his parents."
Chase: "Good to know." Chase then sat down in the lawn near the Beltran's trampoline. He then slipped his PRi out of his pocket and then turned it on to play his Diamond game.
Lucas: "I've never seen you this quiet Chase." Chase sighed as he continued to play his Diamond.
Chase: "Lucas, you still have your home and family. I just lost mine and I barely have any clue as to where my mom is. I don't know what to do. I don't want to move. I want to stay here with my friend from Pokemon. Although My friends from school are probably graduating in a month."
Lucas: "My school friends are probably in middle school by now." Chase then shut off his PRi and then held it out in front of him.
Chase: "Alright Fearow, come on out!" The lens on Chase's PRi flashed and then his Fearow had appeared.
Lucas: "Chase, where are you going?"
Ralts: He's flying to his house. Chase then climbed onto his Fearow's back and then Fearow gave out a thrilling cry.
Chase: "Sorry Lucas, but this is something I gotta check out on my own. I'll be back shortly." Fearow started ascending into the air and then took off with great speed.
Lucas: "Chase wait! I'm too young to stay home alone!" Chase didn't hear Lucas shout to him. Within a minute they were halfway between his house and the Beltran's house. Once Chase and Fearow closed in on his house Chase asked it to fly slower and ascent even higher. Chase spotted his house, and what he saw confirmed that his mother no longer lived there. From the bird's eye view he could see two cars parked in the driveway. Neither of them his mother's minivan. Then in the backyard was a swimming pool that was recently set up. A garden hose was left in there and filling it with cold water. Then Chase saw a man planting a tree in the backyard with two little girls, presumably his daughters.
Chase: "Yup, she's definitely gone. Back to the Beltran's Fearow." Fearow did a U-Turn in midair and then returned to Lucas' back yard in a couple minutes. When he and Fearow arrived they saw AJ return with his parents and bringing in bags of groceries into the house.
AJ: "Hey, where have you been?" Chase's Fearow landed gracefully in the front yard and then Chase recalled it into his PRi.
Chase: "I just wanted to see what became of my mom's old house."
Mrs. Beltran: "Chase, did you leave Lucas here all alone? That's against the law you know." Chase nervously chuckled.
Chase: "Sorry Mrs. Beltran." Chase grabbed a bag of vegetables from the trunk of the car and carried it into the house. Then he joined the family at the dinner table as Mr. Beltran brought in a couple of KFC bags. This was their dinner for the night.
Mr. Beltran: "Lucas, we still have Gatorade in the garage if you want it, and please call your Pokemon back into the games." Since their first adventure, the Beltran family were used to having small Pokemon roam free in the house. Lucas did as he was told and recalled Spiny and Ralts. Then he headed into the garage to get some drinks.
Chase barely ate that night. He only had a few spoonfuls of mashed potatoes and gravy. The whole family noticed and tried not to add to Chase's sadness.
Mrs. Beltran: "If you're not hungry now Chase you can always eat later." Chase looked up at her and then stared back at his plate that had a couple bites taken out of the chicken leg he took.
Chase: "Nah, I'm hungry, but I can't stop wondering what to do now."
Mrs. Beltran: "I already told you you're more then welcome to stay with us for a week or two while we try touch base with your mother." Chase forced a half smile out of the corner of his mouth.
Chase: "Yeah, and I appreciate that Mrs. B, but I just can't believe it. It's like my mother turned her back on me. She sold my Pokemon collection, she moved out of state, my cell phone is useless now, and my high school friends are all seniors in high school by now. It's like I've become a living ghost here. I didn't think that disappearing for two years would have such an impact on me."
AJ: "Hey Chase, I'm in the same boat as you."
Chase: "But you still have your family. I GOT NO ONE!" Chase got up from the table and then walked over to the bean bag chair and sunk into it. The Beltran family heard him sniffling. AJ was about to get up and join Chase but then his father gripped his wrist and forced him back into his seat.
Mr. Beltran: "Son, let him work through his emotions. I think he still needs to come to grips with his situation." AJ sat down and got back to his chicken.
AJ (thinking): If only we could call out legendary Pokemon from the PRi's. Where are Celebi or Dialga when we need them? AJ and Lucas left Chase alone for the rest of the night. Chase opted to sleep in AJ's sleeping bag in his bedroom while Lucas kept his room to himself. After the lights went out AJ leaned down from the side of his bed and toward Chase.
AJ: "It's not over for your life Chase. You still got me, your best friend ever since you started coming to Pokemon League. I bet if we went to league everyone will be happy to see us. Although we'll have a lot of explaining to do, but I still bet we still have all our Pokemon friends from league waiting to see us again." Chase looked over to AJ's bedroom window and out toward the stars.
Chase: "I guess you're right. It's now our Pokemon lives I'm worried about. Plus, I don't to take Sophomore year all over again this fall."
AJ: "Ha ha ha, good point. Well good night Chase." AJ wiggled back into his bed and quickly fell asleep. However, for Chase it felt like hours before he finally peacefully fell asleep. Despite his mixed feelings from that evening he slept soundly. He didn't even hear AJ wake up and leave the bedroom the next morning. Spiny walked into the bedroom the next morning. It then poked its horn at Chase's hair and into his scalp.
Spiny: "Nidorino nido." Spiny poked Chase again but then Chase turned from laying on his stomach to laying on his back and used an arm to swat Spiny away. Then Spiny became a little ticked off. It's horn glowed slightly bright purple and then it stabbed Chase's should. Chase felt a surge of pain in his shoulder and then he screamed. That brought AJ and Lucas running into the room.
Lucas: "What, what is it? What happened?" Spiny was snickering while Chase was sitting up rubbing his left shoulder.
Chase: "Thanks for the alarm Lucas. Spiny just Poison Jabbed me." Spiny ran over to Lucas and then put on a sad face.
Lucas: "Don't apologize to me, apologize to Chase. That was really unnecessary." Spiny then dropped its ears and then lowered its head while facing Chase.
Spiny: "Nido ni." Chase kept rubbing the pain out of his shoulder. Then Chase sighed.
Chase: "OK, but please don't do that again." Suddenly Mrs. Beltran walked by while holding a laundry basket.
Mrs. Beltran: "Oh Chase you're awake. I wrote your mother's phone number down on a post it note by the computer." Chase dropped his jaw and then stood straight up. Suddenly the pain from Poison Jab had faded.
Chase: "How did you get it Mrs.B?"
Mrs. Beltran: "I found your mother on Facebook and contacted her through there."
Chase: "What's Facebook?"
Mrs. Beltran: "Welcome to 2010."
Chase waited until after breakfast to make the phone call. He had to use one of the Beltran's cell phone to make the long distance call. To his surprise the call made through and Chase felt a bit relieve to hear his mother's voice.
Chase: "Hey mom, I'm back. Well I'm back in Oregon anyway."
Mrs. Fisher: "Oh my god! Chase is that really you?"
Chase: "Yes mom, the son who's Pokemon Collection you sold on ebay!" Lucas and AJ were sitting with Chase in the living room and they both snickered at his last comment.
Mrs. Fisher: "Yes, only my son would make a comment like that. I thought Mrs. Beltran was pulling my leg when she sent me that message last night. Well I'll have to make arrangements to Fly you here where you belong mister. Time to get caught up with school and back home with mother."
Chase: "Mom wait! I belong here, in my home with my best friends. I was hoping you could move back here."
Mrs. Fisher: "Do you know what you put me through Chase Fisher? I was so worried about you when you disappeared without a warning. After four months I knew you wouldn't be coming home so I did the logical thing. I sold your collection to help pay for moving expenses and I took up a new job at a university here."
Chase: "MOM! You basically abandoned me here. I have nothing but my Pokemon friends now, and I'm not leaving what I have left here! I was only gone for 24 hours in the future, but an accident forced to me to come home now instead of the day I disappeared like I was supposed to. It's complicated."
Lucas: "How long are they gonna argue?"
AJ: "Shut up Lucas." The two brothers stayed seated in the couch while Chase began walking back and forth. Soon Chase began expressing his anger and sadness with bad language and the Beltran Brothers were getting nervous for Chase.
Chase: "Mom, I'm not staying with you and that's that!" Chase hung up after that and then let out a deep sigh. AJ got up and place a hand on Chase's shoulder.
AJ: "You OK man?"
Chase: "I just don't really know what to do now."
Mrs. Beltran: "It's just one day into your new life Chase. You just need some time to figure all this out and work these issues over with your mother."
Chase: "Yeah, I guess. Thanks for your help Mrs. B." Chase gave her back her cell phone and then walked out into the back yard and sat on the edge of the trampoline.
Lucas: "So if you're not moving in with your mom are you staying with us?"
Chase: "I suppose." Chase then looked over to Lucas' mom for approval.
Mrs. Beltran: "Well, I suppose if Chase can't work things out with his mother then I suppose he could rent a room. We can turn the office room into a third bedroom for Chase." Chase smiled and then leaned back into the trampoline.
Chase: "Well, at least we can still go out on adventures with the PRi's and our real Pokemon."
AJ: "There's the Chase I know." AJ said that as he climbed onto the trampoline. "Always looking at the positive side of things. That's why you've been my best friend for years Chase."
Chase: "Yeah, but life's definitely never the same." Chase kept laying down on the trampoline with his shins hanging from the side.
Mrs. Beltran: "Lunch is ready in twenty minutes." Mrs. Beltran was about to close the sliding door when Chase sat back up on the trampoline.
Chase: "Hey Mrs. B, you never told me what Facebook is!" It was too late as she closed the sliding door and left the two boys sitting on the trampoline.
AJ: "What now Mr. Positive?"
Chase: "Find a job to help pay for my new room."
AJ: "I was thinking more along the lines of a free for all 3 on 3 single battle." Chase smiled and then reached for his PRi.
Chase: "I don't know. What do you think Manectric?" Chase's Manectric was released from his PRi and then it barked and nodded.
AJ: "OK, but you guys are no match for my Salamance!" AJ brought his PRi and then released his Slamamance. Then it roared and then AJ jumped onto its back and then held out a hand to help Chase climb aboard. Manectric then jumped up behind Chase and near Slamance's tail. They flew out onto the roof of the Beltran's House. Chase and his Manectric jumped down and then faced their opponents.
Chase: "Now Manectric, use Thunderbolt!"
AJ: "Salamance, use Hyper Beam!" The two Pokemon then launched their attacks at each other. The Thunderbolt and Hyper Beam collided in mid air and created an explosion. The explosion was so intense it knocked Chase and Manectric toward the edge of the roof. Once the smoke cleared the two boys got ready to attack again, however...
Mrs. Beltran: "BOYS! WHO SHATTERED THE SKY LIGHT AND WHO'S GOING TO FIX IT?" Chase and AJ froze and then looked over to where the Sky light that hovered over the family dinning table used to be. Chase looked down and saw the angry mother with glass shards scattered all over the table below him. He nervously chuckled while AJ and Salamance slowly ascended into the sky and away from the mess.
AJ: "Better hurry up and find that job Chase!" AJ and Salamance flew away. Then Chase turned around and saw them disappear into the horizon.
Chase: "Hey AJ you jerk. Get back here! You started it!" Lucas then walked up to his mother and then checked out the mess caused by the short lived battle.
Lucas: "Ha ha. Welcome to the family Chase."
