Guys, it's great that you have opinions but I was asking Mike because I'd like to make another appearance. (Pretty please water boy? lol)

Yes, Team Rocket will be back. I'm not going to say whether it's good or evil, though.
As for the Elemental Six, I don't think they will appear. Sorry, Waliken.

Also, someone brought this to my attention, I thought I'd clarify it - David in this story is NOT the same one from the last story. In the last story, Dan's brother was named Dave. David in this story is a different person.

Chapter 4

"Alright, so, we're all going to meet at my house at 6:30, right?" Stephen confirmed with Chey. They were stopped outside a tall black gate with brick walls on either side, and an electronic keypad on the handle. Beyond the gate was a red brick apartment building that was shaped like a rectangle, divided neatly into eight apartments. A dirt road paved the center of the rectangle, and there were two apartments across from the gate and three on each side. Each apartment was identical; a small, one floor house with three rooms plus a bathroom. They all had a green shuttered window on either side of their white door, and welcome mats atop raised slabs of concrete rested just outside each residence.
"Yep! See you then!" Chey replied, giving Stephen a kiss on the cheek. She entered a code into the gate and it swung open, allowing her to ride through and close it from the inside. Stephen watched as she rode over to the last house on the right, leaving her bike on the lawn, unlocking the door, and going inside. After staying outside the gate for a few seconds, Stephen began to peddle his bike again, heading for his own house, closer to the downtown area. Emily and Chris had already split up from Chey and Stephen, going to their own neighborhood, about halfway between the school and the downtown area.
"Ah, man...I almost forgot, I'm supposed to bring the chips." Stephen said to himself as he continued down the road. "Man, good thing I remembered." He turned a sharp corner with his bike, heading for a general store a few blocks away.

"Mr. Procter will see you now." The brown haired, pink dressed receptionist informed Dan, who was sitting in a chair in the office's waiting room. David sat next to him, his arms and legs still bound by vines, and his sword resheathed. The room was fairly plain; yellow wallpaper dotted with framed certificates and awards that the school and its staff had won. Several doors led to various administrator's offices, and the receptionist's brown wooden desk sat next to a potted plant on one wall of the room. The receptionist opened a door with a window in it next to her desk, one with the words "Fred Procter, Principal" written on it. Dan walked in, pulling David behind him with the vines emitting from his staff.
"Mr. Procter." Dan said casually as he entered the room. This room had green carpet, unlike the concrete floors of the waiting room, and had green and brown striped wallpaper. Its walls seemed to have even more framed pieces of paper than the waiting room, something that one would consider impossible without seeing it for themself. A grand, polished wooden desk sat near the opposite side of the room, and behind it was principal Procter, sitting in a black leather chair. Procter was a middle aged, dark skinned man with black eyes and an extremely thin layer of gray hair. He wore a gray suit and a red tie, which he readjusted as Dan and the student walked in.
"Why is this student covered in vines?" Principal Procter asked, puzzled.
"He attempted to kill another student after losing a Pokemon battle." Dan replied. "With this." He pulled the large sword out of the sheath on David's back, and quickly discovered just how heavy it was, as he was barely able to hold it above the ground.
"Hmm...well, that's not good." The principal responded, surprisingly calm about the situation.
"Mr. Procter, he has a sword!" Dan exclaimed, rather frustrated by the principal's lack of concern. "That's a lethal weapon! It shouldn't even be allowed on school grounds!"
"Is it any more a weapon than Pokemon are, Mr. Richard?" Procter asked. "If we must confiscate this sword, must we also confiscate all of the trainers' Pokemon?"
"But the students don't actually try to kill eachother with their Pokemon!" Dan answered, beginning to raise his voice. "We use Pokemon for other things! This sword has no purpose other than to harm people!"
"So it is much like your staff, then?" Principal Procter responded, a triumphant smirk on his face.
"N-No!" Dan exclaimed, stumbling for words. "It's nothing like my staff! My staff is for self defense, and to protect the people of Olemenun!"
"Well, while I could undoubtedly argue that point, Mr. Richard, I cannot argue that the student did in fact try to harm another student with this weapon." Principal Procter replied.
"And how can you prove that?" David blurted out.
"Because, my boy, the entire campus of Olemenun Academy is monitored by state of the art equipment." Mr. Procter answered. "And even if it wasn't, I have no reason to doubt my fellow staff member." He let out a small chuckle under his breath, but quickly recomposed himself.
"So, what are we going to do about this?" Dan questioned, returning to the main point of the conversation.
"This school's policy on attempt at harming others is clear and absolute." The principal responded. "It is grounds for immediate expulsion."
"What?! Are you kidding me?!" David exclaimed, struggling to get free of his bonds.
"Rules are rules." Principal Procter replied. "You will have until next Tuesday to appeal to the student board, and..."
"Mr. Procter!" Came a yell from the door, which was now being slammed open by Sebastian. "I need to talk to you!"
"What is it, Mr. Ebipese?" Proctor asked, completely unstartled. "Can't you see I'm in the middle of a meeting?"
"I'm sorry, sir." Sebastian apologized. "But I need to talk to you about the expulsion of one of Olemenun Academy's students."
"Oh? Is it this one, perhaps?" Mr. Procter wondered, motioning his hand toward David.
"No sir." Mr. Ebipese replied after glancing at the boy. "It's actually one of the college students. Hector Lucan; he's a sophomore."
"Ah yes...is he not the child who skipped two grades here at Olemenun Academy?" The principal recalled. "The computer whiz, right? I've heard rumors that he may even be as smart as you!" The principal began to chuckle audibly.
"I'm beginning to doubt that." Sebastian responded. "He helped a high school freshman cheat on a final exam in my computer technology class. For all we know, he may have been cheating all these years!"
"Well, you know where the files containing the students' phone numbers are. Call him up and tell him, and we'll have a meeting after I'm finished here." Procter decided.
"Yes sir." Mr. Ebipese replied, turning and exiting the door from which he had entered.
"Now then, where were we?" Principal Procter asked rhetorically. "Ah yes. Your expulsion. You will have until next Tuesday to appeal your expulsion to the student board. Should you fail in your appeal, you will have until next Friday to clean out your locker."
"Just like that?!" David questioned. "How can you do this to me?!"
"I just so happened to be watching the cameras that were monitoring the main stadium." Procter replied. "And I saw the incident that Mr. Richard described. Our policy on violence is very clear, Mr. Sabel. It is not tolerated. You are dismissed." Dan held up his staff, withdrawing the vines from David's arms and legs.
"Return his weapon to him, Mr. Richard. We have no reason to confiscate it." The principal continued, much to Dan's surprise.
"But what if he tries to attack someone again?!" Dan questioned. "I'd say he probably has more reason to now than before!"
"Do not worry about it, Mr. Richard." Mr. Procter responded. "Glion, keep an eye on him." The principal took a Pokeball from his own belt and threw it into the air, revealing the large, purple flying scorpion Pokemon, Glion. Dan returned the sword to its sheath on David's back, and David began to walk out of the room, followed closely by Glion. Dan turned and faced Procter for a few seconds, not saying a word. He then walked out the door, closing it behind him.

"Do you know why you've been asked to come here, Mr. Lucan?" Principal Procter asked the student that now sat in one of the gray folding chairs that faced the principal's desk.
"I haven't a clue." Hector replied, despite the fact that he truly did have an idea as to what the meeting might be about.
"Of course you don't. You never do." Mr. Ebipese, who stood next to Hector, responded in a slightly annoyed tone. "But this time we've got proof."
"Whatever are you talking about?" Hector asked, continuing his facade of stupidity.
"I'm talking about how you helped one of my computer technology students cheat on his final exam!" Sebastian shouted.
"I am appauled that you would even accuse me of such a thing!" Hector exclaimed.
"You can drop the act, kid. This time I've got proof." Mr. Ebipese said as an arrogant smirk grew on his face. "You disabled my PorygonX's monitoring of the student's computer, but what you didn't know was that I had Internele monitoring the computers, too." He threw a Pokeball into the air that opened to reveal an Internele, the purple sphere of data that was orbited by two smaller spheres. A beam of white data shot out from the slot in the side of one of the smaller spheres, projecting an image on one of the walls of the room. Despite the bumpy texture created by the plaques and frames that decorated the wall, it was obvious that the image was a screenshot of Geraldo's computer screen. Suddenly, the image changed, and began to play like a movie, showing the events that had transpired on the student's computer.
"Mr. Lucan, is that your PorygonY?" The principal questioned, tapping his fingers on his polished mahogany desk.
"No sir." Hector answered, now blatantly lying to the principal and teacher.
"You are aware that the penalty for lying about an offense is the loss of the oppurtunity to appeal an expulsion, are you not?" Mr. Procter asked the student. "Are you sure that that is not your PorygonY?"
"I...I'm sure." Hector struggled to say, deciding to stand by his lie.
"Wrong answer." Sebastian immediately blurted out. "All Pokemon in the Porygon and Webrowse families are registered in an online database. I should know, I created it. Now, Internele, would you please compare the identification number of the PorygonY in this recording to that of Mr. Lucan's Pokemon?" Data began to stream out of the slot on the side of the Pokemon's second orbiting sphere, projecting on the opposite wall of the room.
"The numbers are identical." A computerized voice announced shortly afterward.
"No way." Hector gasped, his mouth agape with disbelief.
"Our little game is over, Mr. Lucan." Mr. Ebipese triumphantly declared. "Checkmate."
"I'm sorry, Mr. Lucan. I have no choice but to expel you." Procter regretfully informed the student, pulling a folder out from a cabinet below his desk. He opened the folder on his desk and began to read the student's transcript. "Such an impressive transcript...it's really a shame you had to go and ruin all of that by cheating." The principal's hand slowly moved over to a large stamp that sat in an inkpad on the corner of his desk, moving it back over the piece of paper. The rubber stamp slammed down on the paper, leaving behind the word 'Expelled' in large red font as it returned to its inkpad.
"N-No..." Hector muttered, lowering his head and raising his hands to grasp the top of his hair.
"I'm sorry." The principal echoed, an expression of sorrow and grief on his face. Unlike the expulsion he had issued less than an hour ago, this was a decree that was incredibly hard for the aging man to issue. Sebastian stayed in the room for about a minute, and then left without saying another word. Several minutes later, Procter regretfully informed the student that he had to leave. Hector got up from his chair, silently walking out the door and closing it behind him. The principal folded his hands and rested his chin atop them, taking a moment to reflect on the events that had just transpired.

"Hey, Geral-dork!" Troy shouted down the crowded hall. Geraldo turned, causing several people that were walking behind him to abruptly stop in order to walk around the newly presented obstacle, an action that procured several rude gestures and comments toward the freshman. The troop of rich boys, led by Troy, approached Geraldo, their path automatically clearing itself due to their status.
"Wh-what's up?" Geraldo wondered, a hint of fear in his voice.
"Those test answers you gave me..." Troy began, causing Geraldo to begin shaking out of fear. Much to the frightened boy's surprise, the senior's answer was the opposite of what he expected. "...Nice work! I double checked them against the smartest kid in the class, of course, and they were almost identical! Good work, my test-stealing little friend."
"Th-thanks!" Geraldo responded, relieved.
"I'd like to reward you by allowing you to come to a party I'm throwing tonight." Troy continued, a virtually undetectable tone of mockery in his voice as always. One member of his group began to chuckle, but was quickly silenced by a swift elbow jab to the chest.
"Are you serious?" Geraldo asked.
"Yes! It's the least I can do!" Troy replied, handing the freshman a slip of paper. "Here's my address. The party's at 7:00, so don't be late!" He snapped his fingers above his head and walked around Geraldo, the rest of his group following him toward the school's exit.
"Awesome!" Geraldo said to himself, examining the piece of paper and then looking up. The hallways of the school were almost completely empty now, but he recognized one lone person walking across one of the intersecting hallways.
"Hey! Hector! Guess what!" Geraldo shouted, running over to the college student, unable to notice from a distance that his acquaintance was sulking, his head down. "I got invited to Troy's party tonight! Troy's!" He approached Hector from behind, eventually noticing that the student was not responding. "Hector? What's wrong?"
"I...I got expelled." Hector solemnly responded as he continued to walk without turning around to face Geraldo.
"What?! Why?!" Geraldo questioned, immediately showing concern for the boy that he considered to be his friend.
"Because I....because I helped you cheat on the test." Hector replied, stopping in his tracks and causing the freshman boy to stop just behind him.
"Are you serious?" Geraldo inquired, losing the spark of joy he had shown earlier. "But..."
"I didn't even need to help you." Hector continued. "I did it as a practical joke. And look what it got me."
"I'm so sorry..." Geraldo began to apologize, feeling responsible for his friend's expulsion.
"Don't be. It was my own fault." Hector responded. The two students stood in silence for a minute, unable to think of anything to say.
"Look...I know this won't even begin to make up for it in any way," Geraldo broke the silence, "But why don't you come with me to the party? It might be a good way to get your mind off of things..."
"I...I don't know, Geraldo..." Hector said. "I don't really feel like going to a party right now."
"Well, take this, in case you change your mind." Geraldo insisted, walking up to Hector and handing him the slip of paper. "I don't need it, I've already memorized the address. The party starts at 7:00." Hector reluctantly accepted the piece of paper, tucking it in his pocket.
"I have to go...I'm really sorry about your expulsion." Geraldo sincerely informed Hector. "I hope you'll be at the party!" He began to run toward a door at the end of the long hallway, leaving Hector alone in the intersection.
"...Thank you." Hector said almost inaudibly after Geraldo was a ways down the hall.

"Is this...Skuakko Island?" Elissa asked, unable to believe the destruction of the land below them. The three trainers and their flying Pokemon had arrived at the coastline of Skuakko Island, an island once hailed for its beauty, both architectural and natural. But now, the beach was littered with black scorchmarks, and all that remained of the beach's tall palm trees were burned stumps. The hollowed, roofless remains of a wooden beachhouse were visible not too far away, but even that was not the most shocking of sights. A school of obviously deceased Seleara, the leafy sea dragon Pokemon, lay on the beach, scorched completely black.
"How did this happen?" Bobby questioned, confused and shocked by the destruction.
"The vampire Pokemon." Jeremy replied. "It...it wields a pair of large shuriken...made completely of fire."
"So it did this." Bobby concluded. "If it can cause this much destruction and death...we've got to find Matt, fast." The three trainers flew forward, past the beach, following a burnt cobblestone path into a forest of burned stumps. The forest eventually ended, giving way to a barren clearing. No grass covered the ground, instead, all that the trainers saw below them was dirt, scorched in exactly the same fashion as the beach had been. In the middle of the clearing was a rounded rectangular gray metal building. It was one story tall, and looked large enough to have about five rooms in it. A door marked the center of the front of the building, and two round windows sat on either side of the door. Amazingly, the building appeared virtually unharmed by the fire that had seemingly eradicated all life on the rest of the island.
"This is it." Jeremy informed the two older trainers. "The Sevorg Research Institute." The three flying Pokemon landed in front of the building, letting their trainers off their backs and returning to their Pokeballs. The three people slowly walked to the door. Bobby attempted to open it, but as he had suspected, it was locked. He knocked on the metal door several times, but noone responded.
"No problem, I'll just have Psychoir send a telepathic message to someone inside." Elissa decided, throwing a Pokeball into the air. It opened to reveal the tall humanshape Pokemon made of light, with large wings and a purple music note on its forehead.
"Psychoir!" The Pokemon chimed in a beautiful voice.
"Psychoir, try to send a message to someone inside the building." Elissa explained. "Get them to open the door." The Pokemon nodded, turned to the building, and closed its eyes, concentrating. After several minutes, it reopened its eyes and turned to Elissa, a look of dismay on its face.
"They think it's the vampire Pokemon...trying to trick them." Psychoir told Elissa telepathically. "Apparently, the vampire has a psychic Pokemon of its own."
"The vampire...is a Pokemon trainer, too?" Elissa asked.
"It wouldn't be the first instance of a Pokemon commanding other Pokemon." Bobby interjected.
"But...it's not the vampire Pokemon! It's us!" Elissa exclaimed. "Did you tell them to come look outside the window?"
"They said that there are no windows in the room they're in, and they're not allowed to leave that room." Psychoir responded.
"What? Why not?" Elissa inquired.
"Because they were told they'd be safe in that room." Psychoir continued.
"By who?" Elissa wondered.
"Matt." Psychoir replied.
"How can we convince them that we're not the vampire Pokemon?" Bobby thought aloud.
"If it helps, I know that you're not the vampire." Came a completely unfamiliar voice from behind them. The voice had a mysterious and slightly romantic accent, and sounded like that of a man in his twenties. "Because I am." The three trainers turned to see a tall figure that resembled a pale skinned, youthful man wearing black shoes, black gloves, black and red bony torso armor, and a red cape. Two large, leathery black bat wings with red edges extended from his back. He wore a red headband with a spike sticking out of the back on either side of his head. He had short, sleek black hair and red eyes, and without even opening his mouth, his two sharp fangs were visible.
"What the...?!" Bobby exclaimed.
"I suppose you've come here to seek out the human that's been able to keep me from killing the remaining citizens of this island." The vampire said in perfect human speech. "Unfortunately, I cannot allow you to do that. Looks like you three will be checking out a little early." He raised his arms slightly, and out of nowhere, large spinning discs of fire appeared in them. The speed of the spinning eventually slowed down to reveal that the discs were, in fact, the firey shuriken that Jeremy had been talking about. Without warning, the vampire swung his right arm out, flinging one of the shuriken toward Bobby.
"Look out!" Elissa shouted, but Bobby was a step ahead of her. He flung out the red staff from behind his back, causing a wall of fire to spring forth from the ground and block the attack. The shuriken was sent flying back to the vampire, who caught it in his empty hand.
"So...you're like him." The vampire concluded. "And you control fire...very well, then. Aqlone, extinguish this nuisance!" He flicked his right hand, and the shuriken in it disappeared, replacing itself with a Pokeball that he threw into the air. The Pokeball fell back down and opened, sending out a roughly three foot tall humanoid made of water. Its stubby legs had no feet, and its somewhat blocky head had no face. Its arms were normal, with hands at their end, but this soon changed. As the Pokemon began to run toward Bobby, its left arm morphed into a long lance and its right arm morphed into an axe, both of which were still made of water. The small Pokemon quickly approached Bobby and began swinging its weaponlike arms at Bobby, who barely managed to block the attacks with his staff. The Pokemon jumped back a few feet and brought its arms together, shooting out a blast of water at Bobby. Bobby waved his staff upward, raising a wall of flames. The water hit the flames and extinguished them, but the barrier served its purpose, as the attack went no further.
"I've got this one!" Elissa exclaimed, pulling out the purple staff and waving it toward Aqlone. A semitransparent lavender hand shot forth, grabbing ahold of the Pokemon and fading into it.
"Aqlone, keep attacking him!" The vampire commanded. Aqlone slowly turned around, and suddenly shot out another blast of water, this one aimed at its former master. The vampire flew up off of the ground, dodging the attack. "So, you too have a power? And yours is mind control, I see! No matter! I have a match for you as well! Penduloom, go!" Another Pokeball apeared in the vampire's hand, launching into the air and revealing a tall yellow humanshape Pokemon. It was obviously the evolution of Hypno, as it held a silver pendulum in each of its hands. The Pokemon now wore a a tall black tophat with a red stripe near the bottom that hid the Pokemon's ears and eyes.
"A Penduloom? That's not good." Elissa realized. Being the professor of the Olemenun region, Elissa knew much about all of its Pokemon, and Penduloom was no exception. The Pokemon opened its hands, revealing that it had many more than two pendulums. A pendulum swung in a circlular motion from each of its fingers, and the pendulums never hit eachother despite being so close to eachother, showing the Pokemon's skill.
"Loom!" The Pokemon exclaimed. The pendulums all stopped moving momentarily and then pointed at Elissa. Waves of psychic energy shot out of the Pokemon's hands, aimed at the female trainer.
"Aqlone, Tidal Slash!" Elissa quickly shouted. The mind controlled Pokemon leaped up and slashed the air with its lance arm, sending forth waves of water. The psychic and water attacks hit eachother and cancelled eachother out as Aqlone fell back onto the ground.
"Ah yes, I probably should fix that problem." The vampire thought aloud. "Penduloom!" The Pokemon nodded its head and began to spin its pendulums again. Aqlone began to glow, and the purple hand left it, returning to Elissa's staff.
"Fine, if that's how you want to play, bring it on!" Bobby exclaimed, grabbing all six of his Pokeballs and throwing them into the air. Ignalion, Electwine, Gasolino, Peablez, Flamoose, and Wolflame, the same Pokemon Bobby had used to challenge the Elite 4 many years ago, emerged from their Pokeballs, ready to fight.
"Let's go!" Elissa shouted, throwing her own Pokeballs into the air. Psychoir, Systripe, Togekiss, and the evolved forms of three of Elissa's Pokemon appeared. Surmast, the mist-shrouded, glowing black humanshape Pokemon that evolved from Condrop, was the first of these evolved Pokemon. The second was Telepound, the evolved form of Rattele. It was a little larger than Rattele, and its body was not very different, other than the fact that it now wore a puffy red crown with golden lining and its staff looked more detailed and royal. Lastly was Enerjolt, the evolved form of Psytage. It resembled three Psytages, only one with eyes, connected in an equilateral triangle with each leg being made out of a beam of electricity and a beam of psychic energy. One of the legs connected to the Psytage with eyes had a circle of electric energy circling around it, the other leg connected to the psytage with eyes had a circle of psychic energy circling it, and the leg connected to the two Psytage without eyes had a ring of each, crisscrossing like the rings on each of the spherical metallic bodies.
"Help them out!" Jeremy commanded, throwing his own six Pokeballs into the air. Jeremy's Pokemon were Gardevoir, Electrode, Hariyama, Dragonair, and two new Pokemon. The first was Evapord, the middle form of Condrop and Surmast. It resembled Surmast, but was a bit smaller, did not have as many spikes on its body, was not surrounded by a red glow, and had a thicker layer of mist surrounding it, making its body harder to see. The second was Chromeon, a steel type evolution of Eevee. It had a sleek chrome body, a spiky tail, and a smooth head with slick ears.
"Very well then." The vampire sighed. "Roserade, Medensei, Avada! Join Aqlone and Penduloom!" He threw three more Pokeballs into the air. The first contained Roserade, the elegant green and white evolution of Roselia with red and blue bouquet-like hands. The second contained a Pokemon that resembled Medicham, but with several differences. It had a similar thin pale body, but it did not have Medicham's bulky legs that resembled baggy pants. Its torso, its legs, and most of its arms were covered by a traditional white martial arts uniform, and it wore a black belt around its waistline. Its head was an oval like Medicham's, but it lacked the pink headwear of its counterpart. Instead, it had thinning gray hair on the sides of its head, and gray sideburns that connected its hair to a full beard. This facial hair combined with the wrinkles on its forehead gave the Pokemon's head the appearance of that of a wise old martial arts master. The third and final Pokeball contained a roughly five foot tall humanshape Pokemon with a dark yellow body. The Pokemon's torso and limbs resembled Alakazam's in terms of shape, but its armorlike coverings were different. Instead of wearing brown pauldrons, chest armor, kneepads, and bracers, the Pokemon wore a black cloth garment resembling a sort of mantle that covered its shoulders, included a cape of sorts that covered its back, and extended all the way down its arms, passing and completely covering its hands. It did not hold spoons in its hands like Alakazam, as they would have been visible sticking upward inside its sleeves, but it did wear a small black pouch, fastened tight with a small button, on each side of its hips. Its head was void of Alakazam's characteristic long ears and moustache, but had roughly the same shape. It had glowing red eyes and a black symbol on its forehead that strongly resembled the spade suit of playing cards. It had an overall appearance that hinted at a dark type in addition to its psychic type.
"Alright, everybody! Attack!" Bobby exclaimed. The three good trainer's Pokemon dashed forward, and the fight began.

Note: Little bit of trivia. David's last name, Sabel, is dutch for Sword. Hmm...wonder where that name came from. =P.
Note: Glion, Togekiss, and Roserade are D/P pokemon, names not confirmed, blahblahblah.
Note: Tidal Slash is a made up move, you won't find it on Serebii or anything, blahblahblah
Note: You prolly don't remember Surmast; Megan used it in Chapter 23 of Elemental Legacies.
Note: You probably think Avada is an alternate Kadabra evolution, right? Wrong! It is in fact part of a more complicated evolution line that will be revealed when the restructured national dex is posted.

Clearly, the puppet is really one of the heroes from Heroes. >.> Who was on the Lost island... RATINGS UP!

Here's the next chapter...tis a good one!

Chapter 5

The four trainers parked their bikes on the neatly manicured lawn and walked to the doorstep of the large, magnificent house. The red brick house covered at least several thousand square feet, and was considered a mansion by many people's standards. The wide doorstep was covered by a balcony, suspended by four white poles. Michael rang the doorbell next to the tall red door, and was quickly answered. The door slowly opened to reveal Joe, whose slouched position and slurred speech showed that he was already drunk, despite the fact that the party had barely started.
"Whaddup, punks?" The senior said in a slurred speech, moving to the side and letting the group in.
"My god, you're drunk already?" Chey rhetorically asked in disbelief. "You know you're going to pass out and miss most of the party."
"I don' need ta take advice from you losers..." Joe replied as he collapsed onto the marble floor. His Sudowoodo and Polarborg, who had been standing near their trainer, lifted the unconscious boy up and carried him into another room.
"Well alright then." Chey responded with a chuckle as she closed the door behind her. The group spent a moment marveling at the large entrance room; the marble floor, the winding staircase, the crystal chandelier, and everything else in the magnificent and large anteroom. Stephen, Chey, Chris and Emily were by no means friends of Troy's, but Troy often invited almost the entire school to his parties, simply to show off the fact that his house could hold them all. The four trainers began to walk through the house, looking for people they knew. Not many people had arrived yet, as the group was early to the party. They eventually made their way to what seemed to be a kitchen, where tables and countertops were lined with beer, sodapop, and various snacks. A freshman boy was frantically running around the room, gathering various drinks and snacks on a tray.
"What are you, Troy's personal butler?" Stephen mockingly asked.
"What? No, I'm just getting some snacks for the guys because I was going to the kitchen anyways, and..."
"Hey, be nice to the kid." Chey interrupted before Stephen could begin mocking the freshman again.
"Alright..." Stephen agreed as his group walked out of the kitchen. The freshman boy quickly finished gathering things on the platter he held and rushed out of the doorway opposite to the one Stephen and his friends had exited through. He then went up a flight of stairs and down a hallway to arrive at Troy's room, where Troy and his gang were all hanging out. The room was rather large for a bedroom; it was about the size of an average living room or dining room. The walls were plastered with posters of sports stars and scantily clad women, more or less typical of a teenage sports jock's room. A magnificent king size bed sat in one corner of the room, and various expensive looking desks and armoires lined the walls. A large television screen sat against the wall opposite Troy's bed, and a minifridge sat next to it. Troy's entire group sat in beanbag chairs in front of the television screen, and Troy and three other boys held video game controllers in their hands, while the rest of the gang watched them play some kind of football game on the large television screen.
"I-I got the snacks you wanted!" Geraldo exclaimed as he entered the room.
"Hey, thanks, Geral-dork!" Troy responded with a hint of sarcasm in his voice. Just set them on that nightstand next to my bed. As Geraldo approached the stand, one of the boys held out his leg, causing the freshman to trip and fall onto the ground. The tray flew into the air and fell back down onto Geraldo, spilling soda, beer, chips, and various other snacks on him. Troy's entire posse began to laugh hysterically at the young boy's fall, and tears began to well up in the easily embarrassed boy's eyes.
"Aw, what's the matter, is the baby gonna cry now?" One boy mocked.
"Shut up!" Geraldo shouted, standing up and wiping the tears from his eyes.
"Wah, wah, why don't you go home and cry to your mommy?" Another boy teased.
"Shut up!" Geraldo echoed, turning and running out the door to Troy's room, sobbing furiously. He ran down the hallway, not looking where he was going, and soon bumped into someone and fell to the ground.
"Sorry..." Geraldo sniveled as he looked up to see who he had bumped into.
"Geraldo?" Hector asked, helping his friend up. "What's the matter?"
"Oh, it's...it's nothing..." Geraldo replied, wiping tears from his eyes.
"No, it's not." Hector responded. "You can tell me. What is it?"
"It's Troy and his stupid friends." Geraldo answered. "They tripped me and made me spill drinks on myself, and then they made fun of me..."
"See? I told you those guys weren't your friends." Hector said. "Now let's go pay them a little visit."
"Wha-what do you mean?" Geraldo wondered.
"Follow me." Hector responded. The two boys walked back down the hall toward Troy's room and stopped in the doorway.
"Hey, the crybaby is back!" One of Troy's friend noticed.
"And, who's this? Did the baby bring his mommy with him?" Another added.
"Wow, meaningless taunts. I'm afraid." Hector coolly replied. "Pupitar, Earthquake!" He grabbed a Pokeball from his belt and threw it into the air, revealing the blue rocky pupa Pokemon, Pupitar. It slammed the ground, causing a shockwave to ripple throughout the room. The attack was so poweful that almost every piece of furniture in the room fell over, and all of the kids fell out of their chairs.
"Hey!" Troy exclaimed. "You can't do that in here!"
"Really? Because I'm pretty sure I just did." Hector responded with a smirk.
"I'll shut you up!" Troy shouted. "Go, Krabgras! Use Vine Whip!" Troy threw a Pokeball of his own into the air, and it opened to reveal a small crab-like Pokemon. It had a round body with a light green underbelly, and instead of a shell on its back, it had a patch of green crabgrass. It had two small, beady eyes on the line where the grass began to grow, and no mouth was visible. It had four small, light green legs, two on each side, coming off of its underbelly, and it had one extension resembling a vine coming off of each side of its body at about the level of its eyes. At the end of these vines were dark green crab claws that were only slightly smaller than the Pokemon's body. The grass type Pokemon shot out its vine-like appendages and slapped the Pupitar with them, dealing super effective damage.
"Pupitar, Dark Pulse!" Hector commanded. A wave of dark energy shot out from Pupitar, striking Krabgras and causing it to flinch. This allowed Pupitar to use another Dark Pulse, but its opponent did not flinch the second time.
"Krabgras, Bubblebeam!" Troy ordered. A stream of bubbles shot out of the Pokemon's claws, revealing that it was a water type as well as a grass type. The bubbles struck Pupitar, but despite being hit by two super effective attacks, Hector's Pokemon was still standing strong.
"Finish it off, Pupitar! Dark Pulse!" Hector commanded. The Pokemon let out a third wave of dark energy, and this time, it was enough to knock its weaker opponent out.
"Dang!" Troy exclaimed, returning Krabgras to its Pokeball. "You can't just barge into my room like that! I don't even remember inviting you to this party! I should call the cops on you!"
"Yes, you should!" Hector replied, much to Troy's surprise. "And while you're at it, you can tell them about this!" He snapped his fingers, and a Sableye appeared next to him. The sableye clutched a clear plastic bag in each of its hands; one contained a white powder, and the other contained some sort of grassy green substance.
"Crap!" Troy shouted. Without thinking, he ran toward the Sableye, reaching an arm out to grab the bags. The ghost Pokemon jumped up, evading the attack. Its eyes flashed malevolently, and Troy fell to the ground, pushed down by a ghostly energy. The Pokemon nimbly landed on its feet, facing the rest of the fear-stricken teenagers in the room.
"Oh, this'll be fun." Hector commented as he turned to see a crowd gathering in the hall behind him. Pupitar rammed the door gently, causing it to close, leaving Hector, Geraldo, Troy, and Troy's posse alone in the room. Pupitar began to shake, causing rocks to appear from seemingly nowhere to block the door from the inside in order to prevent its opening. By now, Troy had gotten up, and held several Pokeballs in each of his hands.
"You're gonna pay for this, punk." Troy remarked. "You know, this won't be the first time I've killed someone."
"Can't say I'm surprised." Hector replied nonchalantly.
"Coppossum, Snailodium, Hocus, Valbit, and Melterate! Come on out!" Troy threw the Pokeballs into the air, revealing his two elemental Pokemon, a Valbit, and two new Pokemon. The first; Hocus, was a small yellow Pokemon that resembled Abra. Its tail was shorter than Abra's, and instead of brown pauldrons and chest armor, the Pokemon merely wore a gray cloth mantle that covered its shoulders. It wore a small gray pouch on its left hip, which was fastened with a small button, and a gray diamond symbol marked its forehead. The second new Pokemon was Melterate, a rather large tortoise-like Pokemon. Its shell was made of dry ice, and it stood on four stout legs that were also made of dry ice. Two long necks extended from the front of its shell; one made of fire, and one made of ice. At the end of the firey neck was a head that looked somewhat fox-like, and at the end of the icy neck was a head resembling something somewhere between a bird's and a turtle's. Two moderately sized red and orange wings rested on the Pokemon's back, each near the edge of the top of the shell, covering the shell's sides. The wings almost appeared to be on fire, and this illusion was added to by the fact that a foggy steam rose from the Pokemon's shell, as it does when dry ice is heated. Despite the apparent sublimation, the shell never melted away at all. The Pokemon's legs appeared to be undergoing a similar process, as the soles of its feet seemed to emite a reddish glow, as if extremely hot.
"This is your battle, Geraldo." Hector commented, throwing a Pokeball into the air. The Pokeball opened to reveal Magneton, the magnet Pokemon comprised of three gray and white spheres and horseshoe magnets. Magneton's magnets pointed toward Troy's flunkies, and the trainers' Pokeballs flew toward it, sticking to the magnets. He then returned Pupitar to its Pokeball and stepped back, allowing Geraldo to send out his own team of Pokemon.
"Alright!" Geraldo exclaimed, ready to fight. "Shieldon, Kabuto, Anorith, Chewpir, and Dermiarch! Go!" The trainer's Pokeballs contained the yellow dinosaur Pokemon with a brown shield head, the brown horseshoe crab Pokemon, the somewhat shrimp-like gray bug type, and two new Pokemon. The first, Chewpir, was a small brown tapir Pokemon. It looked just like a tapir, except that its fur was rather wooly, and it had a small stubby horn-like growth on its head. The second new Pokemon was Dermiarch, a green fish Pokemon. Its front half was dark green, almost box shaped, and covered in a very hard looking armor. Its back half was lighter green, sinuous, and scaly, but nowhere near as hard looking as its front half. It had light blue eyes on the sides of its box shaped head, and a small mouth near the bottom.
"Don't you have a sixth Pokemon, punk?" Troy mockingly asked.
"I do," Geraldo replied, "But I want to make this a fair fight."
"How very noble." Troy jested. "But it's not going to matter, because I'm gonna win!" He thrusted his arm forward, ordering his Pokemon to attack. Coppossum, Snailodium, and Valbit rushed forward to use physical attacks, while Hocus let out a psychic blast and Melterate shot a blast of fire. Geraldo thrusted out his arm as well, and Shieldon, Chewpir, and Anorith dashed forward while Dermiarch and Kabuto launched water attacks. Hector and Troy's group just sat back and watched as the battle raged on, slowly tearing apart Troy's bedroom.

"This doesn't make any sense!" Bobby shouted as he surveyed the battlefield. Jeremy's only remaining Pokemon was his Gardevoir, Elissa was down to just her Psychoir and Togekiss, and Bobby only had his Ignalion and Electwine left. The vampire's Pokemon, on the other hand, were all still standing strong. "Not only did we outnumber him, but me and Elissa's Pokemon were extremely high level!"
"Obviously not high enough." The vampire interjected. "Now prepare to die!" He jumped into the air, his flaming shuriken appearing in his hands. Aqlone and Medensei dashed forward to attack physically, Roserade let loose a storm of petals, and Avada and Penduloom launched powerful psychic blasts.
"I'm not giving up!" Bobby exclaimed. Ignalion countered Roserade's leaf attack with a fire blast, and Electwine met Aqlone with an electrified ram. Elissa followed Bobby's cue and ordered her Pokemon to attack as well, stopping Medensei with a wing attack from Togekiss while Psychoir waged a mental battle against Avada. Jeremy's Gardevoir fought Penduloom's attack with its own psychic powers, but the trainers had no Pokemon left to block the vampire's attack. Bobby looked up to see the winged man descending on him and instinctively raised his staff, creating a wall of fire over his head. The attacker met the wall head on, slashing at it with his own firey weapons. The fire wall disappeared as the vampire flew backwards, landing on his feet a few feet away from Bobby.
"Perhaps that's why you're losing, hmm?" The vampire taunted, intentionally giving Bobby a hint about how to win.
"Of course!" Bobby realized. "Elissa! We've just been letting our Pokemon fight, when we should have been fighting, too!"
"You're right!" Elissa agreed. "Alright! Let's do this!" She jumped into the air, waving her staff outward and sending psychic hands to grab Aqlone and Roserade.
"I don't think so!" The vampire exclaimed. "Penduloom!" The hypnotic Pokemon, who had easily defeated the much weaker Gardevoir, opened its hands to reveal its myriad pendulums, but no sooner had it begun to wave its instruments than an intense blast of fire hit it from the side, knocking it off its feet and destroying its concentration.
"Gah! Avada, use..." He turned to see that Avada and Medensei were now being pummeled by Aqlone, Roserade, Ignalion, Electwine, Psychoir, and Togekiss. Bobby was finishing off Penduloom, and Jeremy, without any Pokemon left to command, was watching Elissa's back, so she would not be ambushed and lose her concentration.
"Looks like the only one who's going to be dying is you." Bobby commented as he began to run toward the vampire, having knocked out Penduloom.
"We'll see about that." The vampire responded, returning all of his Pokemon to their Pokeballs. "Now that my own Pokemon are out of the picture, I don't have to worry about accidentally hitting them."
"What are you talking about?" Elissa questioned as the lavender hands retreated to her staff.
"This." The vampire replied as he began to glow with a dark energy. His flaming shuriken grew larger and brighter, and their heat could be felt from several meters away. Without warning, he seemed to disappear, an illusion created by the breakneck speed at which he was moving.
"Where did he...?!" Bobby began, but soon realized the answer. He turned to see the Pokemon standing behind him, wasting no time and thrusting a shuriken out toward him. The trainer had no time to react, and was sent flying across the field by the power of the attack. The vampire proceeded to quickly take out all of the remaining Pokemon, so that he could focus on the trainers themselves.
"I'll help you!" Elissa shouted, launching a brainwashing hand from her staff. Unfortunately, the Pokemon was moving so fast that she could not see him, and had no idea where to aim the attack. Suddenly, Bobby was sent flying back across the field, once again struck by the vampire's swift attack.
"He's too fast!" Bobby exclaimed. "He doesn't even give me a chance to stand up!"
"Then don't!" Elissa replied. "Cover yourself in fire, so he can't hit you!" Bobby followed Elissa's suggestion, encasing himself in a sphere of flame.
"Are you really that stupid?" The vampire's voice asked from an unidentifiable direction. Suddenly, Bobby was sent flying again, despite being covered in fire. "Come on! My weapons are made of fire! Do you really think a firey shield is going to stop me?!"
"Fine...then I'll stop defending." Bobby decided, his barrier disappearing. He drove the red staff into the ground, blasting a stream of fire that propelled him into the air.
"Whatever you're planning, it's not going to work!" The vampire exclaimed as he appeared below Bobby for a split second. No sooner did he become visible than he flew into the air, preparing to attack Bobby from below. Bobby waved his staff, and it stopped emitting the fire stream. He waved it again, and two wings made of fire formed on his back.
"What the...what's that?!" Elissa wondered, having never seen this trick before.
"Take this!" Bobby shouted, flapping his new wings. A rain of firey arrows shot downward, catching the vampire off guard and striking him, sending him into the ground even faster than he had ascended above it. Now that her target was stationary, Elissa knew where to direct her attack, and the ghostly hand went flying toward the vampire.
"Yah!" The vampire yelled, sending forth a wave of dark energy that deflected the brainwashing fist. He rose from the crater that his fall had created, flying up to where Bobby hovered. Bobby sent another wave of firey projectiles, but this time, his target was prepared. The vampire waved his arms, deflecting all of the arrows aimed at him with his shuriken.
"Face it! You can't beat me!" The vampire declared as he dashed toward Bobby, slashing at him with his weapons. Bobby held out his staff, blocking each strike with a small shield of fire. The vampire disappeared and reappeared behind Bobby, slashing at him from behind and sending him flying toward the ground. The Pokemon followed Bobby, slashing at him several more times before they hit the ground. When the smoke created by the impact cleared, Elissa and Jeremy could see the vampire standing on top of Bobby, holding a shuriken to the trainer's throat. The red staff was several feet away, out of Bobby's reach, and consequently, the man's firey wings had disappeared.
"No! Bobby!" Elissa shouted, seeing her husband lying on the ground, about to die.
"Now die!" The vampire exclaimed, lifting his arm and slashing his shuriken toward Bobby's neck.
Wham!
The vampire skidded across the ground incredibly fast, his shurikens flying out of his hands. Bobby looked up to see a man his age, with long brown hair and a short beard, wearing cargo shorts and a blue and white striped polo shirt.
"Matt?" Bobby questioned.
"Sorry noone answered the door for you." Matt apologized. "They're so afraid of this guy that they're almost completely useless and unreliable. I've even had thoughts of letting our winged friend kill them sometimes." He chuckled, indicating that the last statement was a joke. "Now then, I'll finish this up. Just sit back, watch, and enjoy the fight." He dashed forward, almost as fast as the vampire Pokemon had been moving when it was attacking Bobby. Before the vampire Pokemon could get up off of the ground, Matt slammed the brown staff into the ground in front of him, cracking the earth and sending the Pokemon flying into the air. Matt proceeded to whack the vampire with his staff from below, sending it flying upward as he followed it by jumping off of chunks of rock sent flying when the brown staff struck the ground. The two continued to ascend, Matt constantly hitting the Pokemon in its back, until they reached an altitude of about twenty feet. Matt then swung at the Pokemon's head with such immense power that the vampire was sent flying far away, disappearing into the mountains on the horizon. Matt fell to the ground, landing perfectly on his feet.
"Holy..." Bobby couldn't believe what he had just seen.
"Impressed?" Matt rhetorically asked with a smirk on his face. His smirk quickly turned into a look of concern as he continued, "You really shouldn't be. Despite how strong and fast I've gotten, I still can't kill him. Every time I beat him up like that, he just fades away into the darkness, takes a day or two to recover his strength, and then returns to try and kill more people."
"How do you kill him?" Elissa wondered.
"I wish I knew." Matt replied. "There's a rumor about it having a good counterpart, a Pokemon that uses weapons of ice, but I've never seen it, so I don't know if it even exists."
"So, that thing was a Pokemon, then?" Bobby inquired. "I mean, it looked and talked just like a human, and it seemed to be a Pokemon trainer, too."
"It's definitely a Pokemon." Matt answered. "You probably didn't have time to pull out your Pokedexes, but if you had, you'd have learned that it is a legendary Pokemon named Vampyro. It's the only Pokemon of its kind, unless the myths about its icy counterpart are true."
"If its a Pokemon, why don't you just catch it?" Jeremy questioned.
"As if I could." Matt responded. "Nothing short of a Master Ball is going to catch that thing, and there haven't been any Master Balls since fifteen years ago. The scientists here at Sevorg have been trying to create a Master Ball, but without a prototype or any blueprints, they've been unsuccessful."
"That sucks..." Elissa thought aloud, her eyes wandering off into the distance.
"Well, why don't you guys come inside." Matt said, pulling a small silver key out of his pocket and unlocking the door to the building. The group walked inside, and the three trainers that had never been to the building marveled at its technological superiority. From the looks of the inside of this building, you would never guess that the island was being ravaged. The walls, floors, and ceilings were all made of shiny steel, and green containers lined the walls. Various Pokemon with wires attached to their heads could bee seen in the containers, as if being monitored or experimented on. Further down the hall, the group reached a door, which Matt opened and entered. Computers and screens displaying all kinds of information lined the walls of this room, and several people in lab coats were gathered on red couches in the center of the room.
"Ah! Matt's back!" One of them noticed as the group walked into the room.
"Who are those people with you?" Another scientist asked.
"These are some of my friends." Matt replied. "They had an encounter with Vampyro a few minutes ago."
"Are they okay?" A female scientist questioned, noticing the bruises Bobby had received from the battle.
"We're fine." Bobby answered. "Matt got there just in time to save us."
"That's good." The female scientist, a tall woman with ponytailed orange hair, brown eyes, and thin-rimmed glasses thought aloud. "So, Matt, was your search successful?"
"Unfortunately, no." Matt responded.
"What were you looking for?" Elissa wondered.
"That's classified!" The female scientist blurted out.
"Calm down, Bethany." Matt interjected. "It's okay. There's no harm in them knowing."
"Very well." Bethany said, pushing her glasses up. "As you may or may not know, the white staff, one of the eight staves that was used to seal the Elemental Pokemon fifteen years ago, was lost a few years ago."
"Yeah, I remember hearing about that." Bobby recalled. "Michael had Team Rocket searching for that thing for months."
"Indeed." Bethany agreed. "Well, our scientists have recently been detecting bursts of light energy here on Skuakko Island. The bursts were so powerful that we thought they may be coming from the white staff."
"So I went out looking for it." Matt explained. "But I didn't find anything. I'm thinking it was probably just a group of Wombright, a light type Pokemon native to this island."
"Hey...do you guys have electricity?" Jeremy asked, noticing the machines running inside the building. "I thought your generator wasn't working?"
"It wasn't." Matt responded. "But some of the scientists and civilians thought they could use their electric Pokemon to power the building. As you can see, it worked." He looked to a monitor on the wall, and then turned back to Bobby and Elissa. "So, what brings you to Skuakko, anyways?"
"We just came to see if you needed any help dealing with the vampire." Elissa replied.
"That's great! Thank you so much!" Matt exclaimed. "But you guys don't really have the time to help me out, do you? I mean, Elissa, you're the leading professor in Olemenun, and Bobby, you're the Olemenun League Champion..."
"Don't worry about it." Bobby reassured Matt. "Ness is temporarily taking over my job as Champion while I help you out."
"And Professor Pine said he'd be more than happy to come out of retirement and take care of the lab for me while I'm gone." Elissa added.
"...Thanks, guys." Matt thanked his friends. "This really means a lot to me."
"Don't mention it." Bobby replied with a friendly smile. "We're happy to help."
"Sir, we've detected another burst of light energy on the eastern coast!" A scientist sitting at a computer informed Matt.
"Let's go check it out." Matt decided, nodding to his friends. The four trainers walked out of the room, exiting the building and heading toward the east, hoping to find the legendary light vampire of myth.

Note: Dark Pulse is a DP attack, name not confirmed, blahblahblah
Note: Once again, Troy swears quite a bit, but I had to edit the dialogue to make it acceptable for this forum.
Note: Note the use of capitilization in the terms "elemental Pokemon" and "Elemental Pokemon". When elemental is not capitalized, it refers to the type as a whole. When it is, it refers to the legendary Elemental Pokemon.
Note: As you've probably guessed, Hocus is related to Avada, ruling out the possibility of Avada being an alternate Kadabra evolution. These Pokemon are, however, directly related to the Alakazam line in terms of evolution and breeding. Can you figure out how? ;)
Note: Shieldon is the english name of the DP Pokemon Tatetops.
Note: This is almost exactly what Dermiarch looks like: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antiarchi
Note: When the vampire says "Dang"...yeah, I don't think I even need to finish the sentence, you get it by now. I think I'm going to stop giving these language disclaimers, as I feel that such language will probably be used at least twice per chapter for the rest of the story. It shouldn't be hard to guess when a substitute word is being used - characters like Troy and Joe swear a lot, and any character may swear in an extremely dangerous situation.

Yay for Sableye! :D Another great chapter, B.T. I must say, though, I'm intrigued by Geraldo's ability to have so many Fossil Pokemon. Will this be explained, or should it be assumed that most non-legendary Pokemon are available in relative abundance in this era?

Yay for Sableye! :D Another great chapter, B.T. I must say, though, I'm intrigued by Geraldo's ability to have so many Fossil Pokemon. Will this be explained, or should it be assumed that most non-legendary Pokemon are available in relative abundance in this era?

Well, to put it simply, Geraldo is a fossil maniac; he collects fossils from various regions, and revives *some* of them and just keeps the others on display - and due to import costs from Kanto/Hoenn/Sinnoh, that's where most of his money goes. Later in the story, you'll see an even deeper indulgence of his love for fossils and ancient ruins.

That's how to win Worlds: draw Sableye out of your deck, have it find illegal substances on your opponent, and win the match. Repeat as needed.

I'm looking for you NessA:tongue: XD

Very good chapter, coming up!

Chapter 6

"Alright, Chewpir! Let's end this!" Geraldo commanded, thrusting out his arm. "Take Down!" The freshman's final Pokemon dashed forward, ramming into Hocus, Troy's only remaining conscious Pokemon. The small yellow Pokemon fell back, defeated by the attack.
"Crap!" Troy shouted, returning the Pokemon to its Pokeball. The senior's unusually large bedroom was in shambles as a result of the battle, and his entire group of friends was huddled in the corner, afraid of being hit, as they had no Pokemon left to defend themselves.
"I did it! I won!" Geraldo exclaimed. "So...what do I do now?"
"It's up to you!" Hector informed him with a chuckle. "He can't do anything! What do you want to do? Trash his room? Call the police?"
"Let's call the police on him." Geraldo decided.
"Quite a fitting end for a bully like you, eh, Troy?" Hector remarked. "Sent to jail by one of the kids you picked on!" He paused for a moment, then continued. "Or should I say two? After all, I can't let Geraldo take all of the credit."
"Two?" Geraldo asked.
"Yes...you see, before I started skipping grades, me and Troy here were in the same class." Hector explained. "In fact, I was one of his very first victims...and I took it harder than you did. Unlike you, I didn't need help to realize what he was doing to me...I fought back. Oh, did I fight back. But I was never successful...until now." He threw a Pokeball into the air, revealing the floating, blue, metal and psychic type Pokemon, Metang.
"Tang!" The Metang cried, clanging its arms together. It sent out a psychic pulse, binding Troy and his friends with psychic energy.
"Metang has already sent a psychic message to the police." Hector informed Troy and his group. "Now let's go downstairs and wait out on the lawn, shall we? It's a pretty nice night out, and I could use a breath of fresh air."

"Hey there, baby." Stephen said in slightly slurred speech, putting his hand on Chey's shoulder.
"Stephen? There you are!" Chey exclaimed, turning to see him. "I've been looking for you!"
"I been lookin' for you too, baby." Stephen replied. "What you say we ditch these losers and go get the real party started?"
"Excuse me?" Chey asked, shocked by what her boyfriend had just said. "Stephen, are you drunk?"
"I'm only drunk off yo' love, baby." Stephen answered, putting both his arms around her shoulders. "Now let's go upstairs."
"Stephen!" Chey exclaimed, pushing him away from her. "You are drunk!"
"I ain't drunk!" Stephen responded, his state of oblivious wooziness turning into a state of anger. "Now let's go!" He grabbed her by the arm and began to move toward the stairs, pulling her with him.
"No!" Chey shouted, pulling her arm out of his grasp.
"I ain't askin' a question!" Stephen shouted. "You're comin' with me, now!"
"Leave me alone!" Chey screamed, frantically looking for help and finding none in the sea of drunken partygoers as he grabbed her arm again.
"Don't you struggle 'gainst me!" Stephen exclaimed, noticing that Chey was resisting being dragged. "Ekans, Wrap!" He grabbed a Pokeball from his belt with the hand that was not holding Chey, releasing the purple snake Pokemon, Ekans.
"Eyequus, Psychic!" Chey responded, frantically releasing the white and purple zebra Pokemon from a Pokeball of her own. Its stripes and third eye glowed as it emitted a psychic blast, knocking Ekans and Stephen back several feet.
"Grr..." Stephen muttered, shaking his head as he recovered from the psychic attack. He ran toward her, one arm positioned and ready to punch her. He swung and she ducked, delivering a punch of her own and connecting with his gut. He fell back, hitting his head on the linoleum floor and rendering himself unconscious.
"We're through." Chey said as tears began to well up in her eyes. She returned Eyequus to its Pokeball and ran out the front door, leaving the party.

"As you have all been informed, this student, David Sabel, has been found guilty of assault with a lethal weapon." Mr. Procter explained. He sat at the center of a long gray folding table, with three teachers on each side of him. On the right sat Dan, Tatiana, and Sebastian, and on the left sat three other teachers, the heads of other academic departments. The table had been set up in the gymnasium, as the rest of the building's facilities had been closed for the night. David, still watched from over his shoulder by Mr. Procter's Glion, stood in front of the table, facing the teachers. Next to him was a tall, pale skinned boy with short blonde hair and blue eyes. His horn-rimmed glasses and neat gray suit made it obvious that this Junior was a member of the school's law club, and had been selected to defend David.
"Mr. Sabel has been offered the chance to appeal to the board at any time until Tuesday, and he has chosen to do so tonight." Dan added. "Nicholas Moenck of the law club has been chosen to defend him."
"I thought my case was going to the student board!" David exclaimed, obviously outraged. "But you're all teachers!"
"It's a Friday night, Mr. Sabel." A female teacher on Procter's left responded. "Did you honestly think any of the students on the board would be available? They're all at some party tonight, and they are not legally bound to this commitment. And where do you think any student in their right mind is going to go on a Friday; a party or a student board hearing?"
"It's your own fault for asking to hold your hearing tonight." Dan sneered. Provoked, David hostily stepped forward, but Nicholas, the boy from the law club, pulled him back, aware of what the consequences would be if his client attempted to strike a member of the board.
"Just let me do the talking, please." Nicholas requested.
"Now then." The school's principal began, adjusting his red tie. "Mr. Moenck, how does your client plead?"
"Not guilty," Nicholas replied, "By reason of insanity."
"Insanity?!" David questioned under his breath. "What the heck are you thinking?"
"Just go with it." The law club member whispered back.
"Insanity?" Procter inquired, intrigued by the claim. "And on what grounds do you base this claim?"
"Just think about what he did!" Nicholas continued. "He, like every other student of this institution, was fully aware of the school's rules against violence, as well as the presence of security cameras at the stadium! Not only that, but he had absolutely no logical reason to assault his fellow student! The only possible explanation is that he is insane!"
"While his action was quite spontaneous and seemingly crazy..." Mr. Procter responded after rubbing his chin for several seconds, "...we need actual proof in order to accept your claim."
"Proof?" Nicholas asked.
"You know," Procter explained, "Medical papers. Official documents."
"I hope for your sake that you took the liberty of forging some fake documentation." David whispered into Nicholas's ear. "Because if you didn't, we lose this case. And if we lose this case, you lose your life." Nicholas gulped, his expression remaining stern despite his fear.
"I'm sorry, sir." Nicholas said. "I do not have any legal documents stating that my client is clinically insane."
"Then I am sorry as well." The principal replied, picking up the wooden gavel on the table near him. "David Sabel is guilty of assault, and is hereby expelled from Olemenun Academy." He slammed the gavel onto the plastic table, sentencing David to his grim fate.
"I'm sorry." Nicholas apologized to David as he began to walk toward the door of the gymnasium.
"Not as sorry as you're going to be." David responded, loud enough so that his lawyer could hear the threat, but quiet enough so that the faculty members could not.

"It's getting late." Matt pointed out. The group had been wandering the eastern beach of the island for hours, but still hadn't found anything.
"Maybe it was a false alarm." Jeremy suggested.
"I guess..." Matt agreed, taking a final look around before he turned and began to walk in the direction of the research building.
"Womm!" Came a cry from behind the group of retreating trainers. Matt turned excitedly, but was quickly disappointed when he saw a small, wombat-like creature with shining white fur. It had several circular black designs on its fur, but was primarily white. It had a small snout, short ears, and a short tail, and was rather fat, with large, powerful looking hind legs. It had an angered expression on its face, as if it had been agitated by something prior to its encounter with the group of trainers.
"It's just a Wombright." Matt realized, disappointed.
"Womm!" Came another cry, this time from behind a small hill on the edge of the beach. The group turned to see another Wombright appear from behind the hill, just as angered as the first. Slowly, more and more Wombright appeared from various hiding spots, and the group was soon surrounded by dozens upon dozens of the creatures.
"They're probably angry because we invaded their territory!" Elissa guessed.
"And they have every right to be." Matt thought aloud. "But if we don't do something, they'll probably try to kill us."
"We can't hurt them!" Elissa responded. "They're an endangered species!"
"Fine..." Matt agreed. "Serafimask, Flash!" He threw a Pokeball into the air, revealing the blue and white guardian Pokemon, Serafimask. It thrusted its luminescent sword into the air, causing an intense light to emanate from it and temporarily blind the army of Wombright. The group of trainers, who had covered their eyes, took advantage of the situation and snuck past the dazed Pokemon, safely escaping the ambush.
"That was a close one." Matt commented as he returned Serafimask to its Pokeball. The trainers were now a safe distance away from the clan of hostile Wombright, and were walking down a path of woodchips in a dark forest that led back to Sevorg.
"Sorry about it being a false alarm." Bobby apologized as the group approached the barren clearing where the research institute was located.
"It's not your fault." Matt replied. "Maybe Bethany will have some new information for us." He unlocked the door to the building and entered, followed closely by the other three trainers. As soon as he entered the building, he stopped dead in his tracks, noticing a trail of blood on the ground that led to the room where the scientists were gathered.
"What is it?" Jeremy inquired, unable to see what had made Matt stop. Instinctively, Matt dashed toward the room, following the trail, hoping that the worst had not happened.
It had.
"No!" Matt shouted, running over to the pile of bloody corpses in the center of the room.
"What happened?" Bobby asked as he, Elissa, and Jeremy walked into the room shortly after Matt. The walls had been painted with blood and black scorch marks, and there was no mistaking who the culprit was.
"VAMPYRO!" Matt yelled at the top of his lungs as he futiley swung his staff. "I'LL GET YOU FOR THIS!" Tears began pouring from his eyes as he hugged Bethany's dead body, holding her tight.
"Were they...?" Elissa wondered.
"They must have been," Bobby replied, "For him to be taking her death so hard..."
"That's it." Matt decided as he let go of Bethany's corpse. "We're going to Mount Rafalski, now."
"Mount Rafalski?" Jeremy inquired.
"It's Vampyro's lair." Matt explained. "It's time to end this, once and for all."

"Wha...what happened?" Stephen wondered, sitting up and wiping his mouth. He looked at his hand and was shocked to see that he had been coughing up blood. "Ah! My head hurts!"
"Finally up, are you?" A boy's voice asked inbetween hysterical laughs. Stephen turned to see the freshman he had mocked in Troy's kitchen, as well as an older boy, the latter of which was the source of the unending laughter.
"Wha...?" Stephen inquired, still confused and disoriented.
"Man, you must've been hammered!" The older boy exclaimed.
"Hey...I know you." Stephen said as he realized who the boys were. "You're that super smart kid that was a senior when I was a freshman!" He turned to Geraldo. "And you're the freshman that was getting those snacks for Troy and his group..."
"...Yeah." Geraldo replied, letting out a quiet chuckle.
"Wait...how did I get out here?" Stephen asked.
"We found you lying unconscious on the floor inside the house when people were starting to leave the party." Hector explained. "We were going outside anyways, so we figured we'd bring you out here so you wouldn't be left inside when the police showed up."
"The police?" Stephen inquired. "Why would the police be here?"
"Well, there's a funny story behind that..." Geraldo began. He was interrupted by the screech of sirens as several police cars pulled into the driveway.
"They're in there!" Hector shouted, pointing to the second floor of the house. "There's a Metang and a Magneton holding them down, those are mine! Oh, and my Sableye should be in there looking for the kid's stash, too!"
"Thanks, kid!" One of the policemen yelled back as the cadre of officers knocked down the door and entered the house.
"Wait...what?" Stephen wondered, still very confused. "What's going on?"
"Well, me and my friend here found some illegal substances in Troy's room." Hector explained, not surprising Stephen at all. "So we called the police, and here they are."
"Well of course you found illegal stuff in Troy's room." Stephen responded. "But why would you report it to the police? He's gonna kick your butt for that!"
"I don't see that happening any time soon." Hector replied with a victorious smirk. "We didn't call the cops until we gave him a thorough thrashing in a Pokemon battle. And with all the stuff we found, he's going to be in jail for a very long time."
"Whatever...so wait, you said you found me unconscious on the floor?" Stephen asked.
"Y-Yeah." Geraldo confirmed. "And it kinda looked like somebody might've punched you in the gut, or something."
"What..." Stephen tried to recall what had happened. "Wait...I remember...I was drunk...and Chey...Chey!" He began to look around frantically and futilely, remembering what had happened.
"Who's Chey?" Hector inquired, interested in the boy's story.
"My girlfriend." Stephen answered. "No...my...ex-girlfriend, now..." He dropped his head, punching the ground as he remembered the final words Chey had uttered before he slipped into unconsciousness. 'We're through.' He began to cry uncontrollably, upset at the loss of his girlfriend.
"Are you okay?" Geraldo wondered.
"Y-Yeah, I'm fine." Stephen replied, wiping the tears from his eyes and looking back up. "Damn...what am I going to do now? Chey meant everything to me, and I ruined all of that in a single night..."
"I know what it's like, man." Hector reassured Stephen. "I got expelled earlier today."
"I-I'm sorry." Stephen responded.
"Don't be." Hector replied. "I was too smart for that place anyways."
"Don't you just wish you could get away from it all?" Geraldo asked as he unexpectedly entered Stephen and Hector's conversation. "I mean, now that I've met Hector, I realize how bad my life was...all I did, every day, was wake up, go to school, get picked on by Troy, go home, do my homework, do Troy's homework, eat dinner, and go to bed...and then in the morning I woke up and did it all over again. I wish....I wish that for once, I could have some excitement in my life...that I could do something because I wanted to...y'know?"
"Man, do I know what you mean." Stephen agreed. "Almost everything we do, we do because our parents or our teachers tell us to. I wish that I could have some freedom in my life for once...and now that Chey's left me...I...part of me just kinda wants revenge. On our teachers, on our parents...on everyone."
"Noone knows what you feel like more then us." Hector responded in an unusually open and unsarcastic tone. "I got expelled by a teacher who I've been rivals with for a long time...both of us are computer whizzes...and I know I'm smarter than him, I just haven't been able to prove it. He's always been one step ahead of me...this expulsion thing is a great example of that. And Geraldo here, well, you already know who he wishes he could get revenge on."
"So how...how are we going to get revenge on these people? How are we going to escape from the monotony of everyday life?" Stephen wondered. All three boys were silent, thinking of an answer to the question.
"I've got an idea!" Geraldo chimed after several minutes of silence. "Michael!"
"Who?" Hector inquired.
"You know! The leader of Team Rocket!" Geraldo exclaimed. "Didn't you guys hear the news? He went into hiding in the mountains a few days ago! He said that he'd train any trainer that could find him!"
"Hey, yeah! I remember hearing about that!" Stephen recalled. "We could leave town and go look for him!"
"And what better way to convince him to train us..." Hector added, "...Than with the black staff?"
"What do you mean?" Geraldo asked, puzzled.
"It's a perfect way to prove my intellectual superiority over Ebipese, too!" Hector continued. "I'll hack into Olemenun Academy's security systems...and we'll steal the black staff!"
"That's brilliant!" Stephen agreed. "But it's so high up...even if you do hack the security systems, how are we going to be able to reach it and get out of the building before we get caught?"
"My Aerodactyl will take care of that!" Geraldo exclaimed.
"It's a plan, then." Stephen concluded. "When should we do it?"
"How about right now?" Hector suggested. "It shouldn't take my Pokemon more then a few minutes to hack Ebipese's lame security systems."
"Sounds good." Stephen concurred. "By the way, I never properly introduced myself. My name's Stephen."
"Hector." Hector responded, shaking Stephen's hand. "And this is Geraldo."
"Nice to meet you, Hector, Geraldo." Stephen replied. "Now then, let's get going."

"Well, here we are." Stephen announced. It had been a short trip from Troy's party to Olemenun Academy, as the three trainers had ridden on the back of Geraldo's prehistoric flying Pokemon. "There's no going back once we enter that building. Are either of you going to chicken out?"
"Not a chance." Hector answered. "Are you?"
"Yeah, right." Stephen replied sarcastically. "Hey, what's that?" He pointed down the sidewalk a little way, where two humanoid forms were visible.
"There are other people here this late at night?" Geraldo wondered. "What if they see us?!"
"We'll just have to take care of them." Hector decided, walking toward the two figures.
"Are you crazy?" Geraldo asked, having no choice but to follow his friend.
"Why hello there, boys!" Hector shouted as he approached the two men, who he could now distinctly see.
"Good evening!" One boy, who wore a large sheath on his back, responded. "Is there a problem?"
"Well, there doesn't need to be," Hector replied, "We were just wondering what you two are doing out here so late."
"I could ask you the same thing." The boy with the sheath on his back commented, losing his act of carefree innocence as he reached one of his hands up to the hilt of his sword.
"Oh, I'm sorry, was I interupting something?" Hector sarcastically asked, as the answer was obviously yes.
"Help me!" The other boy, who wore a neat suit and glasses, exclaimed, attempting to get away from the boy with the sword.
"I can't let you do that." The first boy said as he pulled the large sword out from its sheath. He slashed at the boy with glasses, barely missing. "After all, it's your fault I got expelled!"
"Now now, there's no need for violence." Hector said, releasing his Pupitar. Pupitar slammed the ground, causing a shockwave to knock the boy with the sword off of his feet.
"Thank you!" The boy with glasses, who was now successfully escaping, thanked the Hector as he ran.
"We didn't come to save you, kid." Stephen informed him. "Cubone!" He released Cubone from its Pokeball, and the small brown Pokemon with a skull on its head threw the bone in its hand at the fleeing student. The projectile hit the blonde boy in the head, causing him to fall onto the ground as the weapon flew back to its thrower like a boomerang.
"Now then." Hector began as he cracked his knuckles. "You two are jeopardizing our plans by being here this late. It looks like we have no choice but to take you out of the picture."
"Plans?" The boy with the sword inquired as he got up off of the ground.
"Well, as cliche as it is, you're about to die, so I suppose I'll tell you." Hector decided. "We're planning to steal the black staff and leave. We're going to go find Michael, the head of Team Rocket.
"Steal the black staff? Are you crazy?" The boy with the glasses shouted as he too got off of the ground. "Mr. Ebipese's security systems are..."
"Ebipese's security systems are no challenge for me." Hector interrupted.
"You're rather sure of yourself." The boy with the sheath on his back commented. "I'd like to go with you."
"Go with us?" Hector asked, intrigued.
"I just got expelled from Olemenun Academy, thanks to this nerd." He pointed to the boy with glasses. "And I'm sure you guys could use some help with whatever you're doing."
"It's better than killing him! He's innocent! He hasn't done anything!" Geraldo exclaimed before Hector could utter a witty comment, completely unaware of the fact that the boy carrying the sword was not, in fact, an innocent.
"Very well." Hector agreed after considering the proposition for a minute. "What's your name?"
"David Sabel. Swordsman and Pokemon trainer." The boy replied. "And yours?"
"Hector Lucan. Computer Genius." Hector answered with a confident smirk. Hector, Geraldo, and David walked over to the door of the building, where Stephen and the boy in glasses were.
"Hey Nick! Great news!" David exclaimed. "These boys have offered to take me with them on their little quest. And you know what that means!"
"You're going to let me go?" Nicholas asked hopefully.
"You wish." David answered. "It means you're coming with us."
"Let's do this." Stephen released his black canine Pokemon, ordering it to melt the locks on the doors.
"PorygonY, Magneton, Metang! Disable the security systems! Sableye, take out the cameras!" Hector commanded as he threw four Pokeballs into the air. The three floating Pokemon began to concentrate, each one focusing on a different system. PorygonY hacked the computerized systems, Magneton disabled the electric fields, and Metang interfered with the psychic sensors. Sableye disappeared, reappearing inside the building, unplugging the security cameras one by one.
"Wow, you've got a Pokemon to take care of everything, don't you?" Stephen commented as the five trainers walked through the doors that Houndour had opened. "Have you done this before?"
"Maybe." Hector answered with a smile. Geraldo had recalled his Aerodactyl, as it couldn't fit through the doors of the building, but he now sent it back out of its Pokeball once the trainers had gotten inside. Stephen returned his Houndour to its Pokeball, and the three trainers that had come from Troy's house boarded the large, purple-gray-skinned, violet-winged Pokemon. It flapped its massive wings, ascending to the level where the black staff was held.
"You got a flying Pokemon?" David asked his unwilling comrade.
"I-I've got a Noctowl." Nicholas replied.
"Excellent. Up we go." David responded, sending out his Scyther and getting on its back. It began to flap its small wings, and he went up, following Geraldo's Aerodactyl. Nicholas knew that if he tried to escape, he'd be easily caught, so he had no choice but to comply and send out his Noctowl.
"Do any of you have a Pokemon that can carve a hole in the glass without falling down to the ground?" Hector asked.
"I'm surprised you don't!" Stephen joked. "But yes, I do. Let's go, Nightture!" Stephen threw one of his Pokeballs into the air, revealing the black-feathered bird of prey with three glowing feathers on its head. It flew over to the glass case where the staff was stored, carefully carving a circular shape with its sharp beak. As soon as it finished, the sheet of glass that it had carved out began to fall, and it swooped down, quickly catching the glass with its talons before it hit the ground and made a noise.
"Guys, make room." Hector informed his cohorts, grabbing a Pokeball from his belt. "Aerodactyl, this guy is going to be pretty heavy, but you need to keep flapping your wings. Do you understand?"
"Dactyl!" The Pokemon confirmed that it understood with a vertical shake of its head.
"Alright. Go, Quagsire!" The blue water and ground type Pokemon materialized on Aerodactyl's back, causing the flying Pokemon to dip down a few feet from the stress of the added weight, but it quickly flew back up to where it had been, remaining strong. "Stephen, when I count to three, grab the staff."
"Right." Stephen agreed.
"One...two...three!" Stephen reached out, quickly removing the black staff from its holding place. As Hector had suspected, a small censor behind the staff began to flash bright red. Quagsire was prepared, instantly launching a Mud Shot attack and covering the censor, blinding the machine to the absence of the object it had been guarding. Hector returned all of his Pokemon to their Pokeballs as Stephen returned his Nightture, causing the glass plate that it had been carrying to begin falling once again.
"Aerodactyl, get us out of here!" Geraldo ordered. The fossil Pokemon let out a powerful Hyper Beam, shattering the glass dome above it. It followed up with a Protect attack to deflect the airborne shards of glass as it flew out of the hole that it had opened in the roof. With Hector's Pokemon back in their Pokeballs and the roof destroyed, alarms of all kinds began going off, but the group of staff thieves had already escaped from the school.
"Nothing quite like breaking into a building and stealing a priceless object, is there?" Hector asked rhetorically.
"Amen to that!" Stephen responded with a triumphant smile as Aerodactyl, Scyther, and Noctowl flew into the night, disappearing into the starlit sky.

Note: Here's an interesting bit of trivia. The first scene of this chapter (the one where Geraldo and Hector finish their confrontation with Troy and his group) originally ends with Geraldo deciding he wants to kill Troy and ordering Chewpir to kill Troy. I ended up deciding that that would be too hard to work with (why would Geraldo and Hector be calmly sitting on the lawn after killing someone?), so it was changed to them calling the police. Credit for the idea to change this actually goes to my sister.
Note: The style of Nicholas's glasses (horn-rimmed) is an homage to Mr. Bennet on Heroes, one of my favorite television shows.
