barley anyone has money to go to hawaii thats why. a lot of people come to sd. so grinder will probably have a t8 or t16 for seniors t4 for juniors and t16 for masters.

You're wrong again. The amount of people that go to the Last Chance Qualifier doesn't increase or decrease the amount of invites given for it. The only thing that affects the amount of invites is how many people that are already invited show up to worlds. Depending on how many don't/can't will determine how many extra invites are thrown into the LCQ. In fact, based on your statement that San Diego is easier for people to get to, shouldn't that also mean there's less invites for the LCQ because less people will have to opt out of going?

tl;dr: Minimum 4 invites per age division no matter what the attendance of the LCQ. Only goes skyrocketing up if many people that were invited decide that they can't go to worlds.

To put it more clearly, to start, each division in the LCQ is given 4 invites for the Top 4. Then, for each person with an invite given through the other three means that doesn't show up, their invite is taken and put into their respective division in the LCQ. So, let's say that 10 Masters with invited don't show up for Worlds. That, along with the 4 mandatory invites, means that the top 14 Masters will get into the main event.

Not neccessarily. Last year in Hawaii they did not let enough players grind in to make up for all of the players in Juniors and Seniors who did not show up.

Best venue, amazing city, great people, and a great tournament to play in. Nothing gets me more excited! Hopefully I can do better the 6-3 this year =p

Top 32 this year baby, top 32 :D
I love the venue, just the only thing I'm concerned with is, wasn't someone like robbed in one of the bathrooms last year?

So, yeah. This topic is about US Nationals, right?

So, um, let's keep the discussion to the topic of the thread, which is Nationals.

Does anyone know if there are like cheap motels in the area?

I don want to pay more than like $70 a night if possible.

Use Priceline.com's name your own price feature. I've heard of people getting ~65-ish dollar per night rooms at all the fancy hotels around the convention center doing that. Better than a motel :p

I honestly don't care at all where I sleep; I was just wondering if I could show up there and just check in to a motel.

But thx tho, very helpful ^_^.

Well, no, you can't because you're not 21.
If your parents are on board with checking into a motel, as you move outward from downtown there are a number of cheaper (and nicer) accommodations. Also, as you move further away from the epicenter of downtown, you are more likely to find vacancies.
Indianapolis is sort of set up for travelers, so if you don't mind having to drive/catch a cab to the event, there will always be open rooms.

our group took a rental car and drove 13 hours to indy, and it was pretty fun--I like road trips. But if I go again this year I'll know that I should drop if I loose more than three times. I went 3-6 playing T-tar, I beat all the jumpluffs and luxchomps I went against but lost to the random nidoqueen and fighting type decks.

I hope I can go this year, and I will hopefully continue playing pokemon into college--I found one that has a league and store withing biking distance. Nats is so fun and I encourage everone to go who can afford to drive/fly there. Even if you're bad at pokemon, you still get lots of cool stuff and packs and play in side tournaments.
