i wore my team brads shirt which advetised pokemon to school oneday
one guy thought he could beat me up, after all, im just a skinny white guy
i dont know if his fingers ever fully healed, but he wont mess with me or anyone else again
morale of the story: dont take... foul smelly excreasions from people who give you a hard time
Yes, because violence is always the answer.

Remember kids: Sticks and stones.

Everythign you said is true. The convo with people goes like this:

"So I play Pokemon TCG"

"..."

"But I've also won 2 trips to california for me and my family FOR FREE doing it =/"

"oh, thats rly cool. maybe you can teach me to play sometime"

i do that when ever some one asks me if i have any hobbies but yes i got 2-3 people in to the game :).

I'm one of the coolest kids in my grade and everyone has full knowledge that I play Pokémon. It's because I'm super gangsta.

I'm now attending DigiPen. From what I've gathered from orientation, the only really socially unacceptable thing at that school is not showering. In fact, we had several seniors and faculty drill this into our heads. xD Even playing D&D is only mildly socially unacceptable (Smash Bros. Club is a real club, no joke, while D&D is just a (few) guy(s) hanging out in the cafeteria who only calls it a club) as well as thinking FFVII is the best game ever. If I survive the workload, it should be quite interesting for the next few years.

EDIT:

Ask and ye shall recieve.

I'll redo it if someone can find me a bigger/better/higher quality image.

omg, he's SOOO cool.
HE should be our mascot, not that stupid electric rodent.

I havn't read through the posts past the first page but this is responding to the original post. If you care about your kids, don't let them get into it. It's not cool.

Luckily, I got into it after I established my rep at school with sports, skateboarding, rapping, and of course the girls so I have a lot of friends in a lot of different groups. I got into Pokemon with my best friend who I've known my entire life after and we would never tell anybody. If people found out, it would ruin my rep.

If you get your kids into Pokemon before they figure out who they are, you're turning them into Pokemon losers and they probably won't be anything else.

So for everybody who said they don't care if people know they play Pokemon, then it's already too late for them. For the rest of us who are normal, lets keep it that way.

are you serious?

Shame on you :nonono:. That's a load of bull plop. I've played pokemon since I was 4 (am now 15). It hasn't turned me into a pokemon loser. If anything, it's given me social skills, reading abilitys, an open mind to people who can't speak english, made me feel good about myself and developed my brain from an early age. Now, I'm the top of my class, with loads of friends (who by the way KNOW I play pokemon and support me) and steadily driving towards my dream of becoming a herpetologist.

And by the way, if your so sensitive about people finding out you play pokemon, your not good enough. Stop playing, before someone finds out and your precious rep is ruined

I had no idea "thought he could beat me up" was synonymous with "tried to mug me." Thanks for the enlightenment.

no problem
it might have something to do with the fact that you dont live anywhere near here, and thus know less than nothing about how the people in my nieghborhood work
apology accepted

Hiding your interests will simply decrease the chances that such things will ever become mainstream. If you are hiding your interest, you are part of the problem. You are making things worse for everyone else.

You get made fun of for showing cowardice and lack of confidence.
Agreed.

I don't tell people I play the game, but i don't hide it. I tell them selective imformation

"What are your hobbies?"
Collectable card games

"Which one's you play?"
Magic and a few others

"Hey I saw you with Pokemon cards yesterday nerd!"
Yeah I sell them and get money, a lot of card shops will buy your old cards.

(at the shop) "Whoa you play Pokemon!"
Yeah...So?

I don't go adn announce to everyone that I play but if someone inquires it I'll tell. I tell them the truth, just not the whole thing.

That's all I have to say there.

that's still hiding it, using selling cards as an excuse. I used to do that too. It's the same thing.

i just tell them i play
its easier
and if they dont want to hang with me after i tell them, they werent worth my time to begin with

... and there goes that reputation.

Seriously dude, what's your problem? Saying that people who don't care who knows if they play a game that they obviously enjoy are losers/abnormal? If you care THAT much about somebody finding out that you play a game which you may, or may not enjoy, and that it would ruin your reputation, which may, or may not exist, then i HONESTLY feel pity for you.
