Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

PokeRadar shinies! Best method ever!

I almost had a good thing going. I found a Starly and wanted to see how many times I can see it W/O using the Radar. It lasted about 5 or 6 times before I saw a shinx.

I went to the patch of grass below Jubilife city, next to a trainer. All I did was go back and forth between one patch of grass.

Does the guy in Route 201 ever move (the guy who gives you a free potion). One of my shiny patches was right where he was standing and he never moved. I swear, the pokeradar hate me. On the other hand, shiny Pichu at #62.

He never moves at all. On the other hand, why didn't you just keep resetting after you got to 40?

And also, the second shining Nosepass was found in the patch directly above the trainer sprite XD

Drat, lost my shiny Nidoran becuase of that pokemart man. As for the Pichu chain, I burned over 20 max repels just by resetting the radar at # 40. Eventually I grew tired of that so I decided to KO more Pichus until I finally got my shiny.

So as i've said, im not so good at chaining yet, so I don't know all that much yet. My question is : when your chain is good and high, like 45 or so, and you catch a shiny, how does your chain break? I keep hearing people say "yeah I got like 2 shinies than the chain broke". Assuming you're doing everything right, and you're merely scanning for shiny patches at that point, how is there any risk of your chain breaking? Theoretically, as long as you've got enough repels and patience and such, you should be able to catch an infinite number of shinies off of 1 chain, right? Unless people just get bored and decide to bump their chain up some more by battling non-shinies. Am I understanding this right?

Also, wish me luck on my shiny Stunky hunting.

The only way a shiny can break the chain is if the Shiny Patch is on the edge of the grass field. Keep resetting the radar once you hit 40 and you'll get your shiny. Be aware that you may burn over 20 max repels though. I never start a chain unless I'm carrying at least 80 repels. Good luck [R]!

Does anyone know another easy Poke to chain? I tried Ralts and Abra (which I really want shinies of, BTW)
but I can't get past twenty.

[R] - yeah, in theory you can get 'n' shinies. depends on your patience/luck/repels count/etc. but yeah this one guy got 36 shiny ralts off the same chain, and I think 18 or so shiny Togepi's. I wih I had that kind of patience.

Also it seems the more shiny's I have from the Radar, the longer it takes for the shiny patches to appear =(

What does it mean when your chain breaks for no reason? Because mine keeps doing that. I'll have just finished killing my chain pokemon, and will be walking through the grass toward the next shaking patch of grass, and my chain will just......stop. The music changes back to normal, the shaking patches don't do anything anymore, and the pokemon on my pokerader poketch app dissapeers. This happens 90% of the time when i'm chaining. The highest i've gotten is 23 now, and it just killed itself for no reason. Is my game broken?

no it jsut randomly happens sometimes, there's also luck involved in this I guess. But if you follow all the rules, etc. you will eventually get it, just try it out with easier pokemon like shinx. Trust me I had 69+ chains broken by no reason whatsoever before I got good at it and was able to get my first shiny. Now I'm up to 61 PokeRadar shiny's.

only 2 corsola in a chain of 94 =(
I think this supports Pablo's theory about having more shinings from radar in relation to shining patches

At least my first shining Corsola was after killing 19 of them

Use a pokemon with Static ability in the lead position of your team. That's how I got my chains high enough for a shiny Pachirisu and Shinx.
