I'm going for abra's now, and a shinx broke my chain 3 times. I hate those things now as much as I hate bidoof.

PABLO... Fish here, we met in Houston! This is a great thread and I have caught Shiny Shinx x1 and Shiny Shellos (PINK=Gold Hue).... I chained 73 Pachirisu nad no Shiny.. then I just read what you wrote about resetting over and over at 40 and d'oh!! The Reason I went ofr Shellos, is becuz it broke my Pachi Chain :(!

Stay away fro mthe EDGES!!! Seriously.. every time I went ot an Edge pokemon, it breaks my chains!! Also, patches next to items/ People are VERY BAD!!! Keep in the middle if at all possible and dont move the screen to far up or down as this always resets the chain!! after chaining Bronzors for an hour.. I noticed every time I moved to far up or down on the screen, the chain would reset!!
 
I really need to pay attention to my game more, and not at 4 in the morning. A Floatzel broke my 40 Ditto chain because I didn't pay attention ;_;
 
Thanks Pablo. I just got my first shiny ever, a Wobuffet. I got the chain up to 42, reset the radar a dozen or so times, then I found it. He's big and purple, so I named him Grimace.

If you have a Pokemon with STATIC, Shinx is super easy! Go to JUBILIFE CITY then head NORTHto ROUTE 204 and go until the road ends in a BIG patch of graas wehre ther is a BOY standing on the corner of the road to the south and a girl standing opposite him wehre the road begins again to the north! I caught 2 Shinx there after the 22nd and the 41 without resetting!! Which is a was a boy andgirl though.. eggs!!

I have Pikachu in front and let it get KOed then I have my Linoone I migrated over thatis lvl 58 and knows COVET.. this is important cuz it can OHKO everything it meets in this patch and the PP for COVET is 40 exactly!! Kinda nice that way... If my chian gets borken, I just flail the next chain as it is 15 PP!!

Another suggestions is, If you have a PICKUP team... now is the time to use it!! Since I baegan SHiny hunting, I have PUed

Repel x41 <---- I use these to start my chains and then swtich to MAX REPEL during the chain!

So a PICK UP TEAM is very useful.. my range from lvl 32-67

I'm glad its working out for everyone. Congrats to everyone with new shiny's.

pichu bros. rox - bidoof and starly are easy to chain in route 202, if you go to non gold glittery patches. Also swarm Pokemon are easier to chain as well.
 
Good with Ev training and pickup as said earlier, good ideas as you get benefit even if the chain brakes.
 
can someone please give me advice! I have been following every single rule there is to chaining and I can't get my chain high at all. i have been chaining at route 210 to catch shiny bagon since I have pearl, but its not working. Please help!
 
Okay my Magnemite Chain is at 42, I know I should keep reseting for a shining, but I saw a Shiny Magnemite at #20, so do I reset now, or do I wait till I get to 60, then reset?
 
Keep restting now!! It doesnt matte rif you encounter them before the 40.. 40 is the "Magic" number! GL Austin!
