Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

PS3 - 360 - or Revolution which are you getting???

Just because someone can afford something doesn't necessarily mean that they'll want to... And it's not like revolution (which will most definitely be cheapest) is just a crappier version of the other two, thus making it lower priced.

Okay, I guess high price isn't necessary a disadvantage. But low(er) price is definitely counted as an advantage.

hahaha, i'm not arguing that the revolution will be crappy. its just way too early to tell at this juncture. The price will hurt a little, but not where most people will think. Instead of someone buying a system and say 3 games and a controller, they'll only get the system and 1 game maybe 2 (at first). This is where it may hurt 360 and PS3 the most since they make most of their money off games and not the systems themselves anyhow. The revolution will have the advantage of having more games bought at launch because of its lower price.

I wouldn't be totally against playing $400 for a console if it could last me a good 5 years, and has a lot of fun games. What kills me is after I've spent $400, which is a lot to me, I have to go spend $100 more on 2 more controllers, and I've spent $500 and I don't even have a game. Added in for maybe 4 games, that's $780. For those kids in High School and down, this is an amount that is nearly impossible to raise without selling the house LOL. I'm in college, and I don't even have a job to make money. How am I supposed to pay for this?

Hahaha, ya that kinda hurts. Where they will make the money is in yuppie ville. There are highschool kids around here spending stupid amounts of money on car stuff or driving a BMW bought by daddy...lol It'd be interesting to see figures of sales after the first month of where they sold the most just to see how much good ol' dad has had to pay across the country

well, rich people always get the good stuff. i'll be stuck for a while, consdering i gotta pay for my car, insurance, gas, school, rent, food, books, and whatever else i spend money on. so, regardless of price, i will not be getting a next-gen system for a while. something tells me i'll be okay...

I saw on the news this morning that Electronic Arts is posting a 47% sales decrease this quarter. It says the reason for the drop is because people are delaying buying new games until the new systems arrive. Which pretty much tells them that people are willing to pay $400 and $500 for the 360 and PS3 before they are willing to buy games on their current systems. 47% decrease in sales is a big chunk of people!

Maybe one reason they are waiting to buy new games is because all the recent ones EA has released have been lousy.

Hardcore gamers are alot like overgrown kids. If they can afford it, it's theirs.

Although I'm a Nintendo fanboy from the NES, I prefer my Xbox, and will probably get the 360 when the price drops a bit(alot). I like the download feature on the revolution, but the controller makes me cringe. And, I have to agree with Hot Mustid, other than a few of the games PS is crap.

At the moment, i am a nintendo fanboy...but the 360 looks very interesting. If i decide to (and can afford) the 360, ill probably end up getting it. I do miss some of the third party support that I can play at friend's houses on their xboxes/ps2's, but in truth, only time will tell which one will make it on top. As previously stated, not many specs on any of the other 2 systems have been released.

Interesting article on MSNBC.com today about this......

"SEATTLE - Microsoft Corp. expects to sell as many as 3 million Xbox 360 consoles in the first three months after launching the newest version of its video game machine, the financial chief of the giant software company’s Xbox business said Tuesday.

The sales target of 2.75 million to 3 million Xbox 360 units in the first 90 days after the launch date of Nov. 22 was outlined by Xbox Chief Financial Officer Bryan Lee at an investors’ conference in New York. That target comes nearly two weeks after Microsoft cautioned that initial Xbox sales might not be as high as some in the gaming industry have expected. (MSNBC is a Microsoft - NBC joint venture.)

Lee also said that sales of the new consoles, games, peripherals and online gaming subscriptions should total about $1.5 billion in the same period."

That is the stupidest idea i've ever heard. Definately would be the end of Sony for the console market. They can't possibly be that dumb!

DAngit, I wanted to post a CAD comic, but then I realized that it isn't Gym appropriate...

Dang...

It's the Nov 4 comic on CtrlAtlDel.

I am just wanting to know why a controller comes with the console how are you going to blow 100$ on just one. Plus the 360 and PS3 are targeted towards older players who can at least afford a couple of games plus who buys a systeam and 5 games just when the get it god. And to finish my arguement Nintendo not only sells there console cheap but the think if the through in a copy of Mario Party 97 they think everyone will want it Nintenodo is the weal link in gaming it needs a good systeam to come back right now.

[EDIT: Please avoid using inappropriate language, thanks.]
