At our Prerelease one person pulled 4 yes 4 EX's 3 regular and a full art in his 6 packs. I had not seen that before in the 10 years I have attended prereleases .

Out of 16 Pre-Release packs I got:
1 Genesect EX
1 Master Ball
1 Scoop Up Cyclone
2 Tool Box Sigilyth
1 Salamance
1 Archeops
1 Rev Mesprit
1 Rev Blastiose
3 Silver Mirror, 3 Energy Retrievals, 3 Iris, Ultra Ball. Didn't pull any Silver Bangles, Catchers etc.

As far as I can tell, there is no guaranteed pull rate on these boxes. The second box is about $30 worth of cards (not including the 4 catcher which are dropping in price faster than you can say re-released).
If you are looking for return on investment, this isn't looking good. Too bad too, it's a great set otherwise. Buy singles.
BTW Secret Rares for this set are somewhere in the 1 a box range. There's been at least 2 - 3 pulled in every pre-release I've attended or run...and in every box I've opened.
And since it was posted: Why is information on the theme decks leaking since they're not currently for sale?

Not in 2 of the three opened boxes I've tracked so far. And even the third box didn't come close to $85 in cards. Honestly, unless you're pulling multiple Genesect/Verizion at this point you're not making your money's worth...but there's nothing new there.
That said it seems that the inconsistency of packaging these cards means you're either hitting a truckload or nothing.

Including the two prereleases and their drafts I judged this weekend, I saw a lot of clusters of people getting all the luck, while there would be draughts in others. You'd have four people all pulling stuff (some pulling 2-3 of the ultra rares), and then six people pulling nothing. For what little does come in the boxes, it seems, they are all clumped together in a non-random order. :/
The plus side is that if you're a collector, the lower amount of cards makes this set a bit easier to get. I have playsets of all the interesting normal/holo rares, as well as playsets of all the commons/uncommons from 2.5 boxes. Not too bad, I guess. The inconsistency still is a little sad, especially when it gave a lot of players huge advantages.
I guess we should have shuffled the packs around a bit.

Man, they're ALL on the right side. The lady at my Pre Release cracked open a new box and I jokingly asked if we could get the right side (which she did) and my girlfriend and I pulled crazy stuff in our small amount of packs.
I don't understand why packs aren't shuffled. I started playing again recently, and before I quit years ago the TO's ALWAYS shuffled the packs from the new boxes. Then again, those were the days when you got sleeves for going to a Pre Release and not the "deckboxes" they give you now. Those were the days. Ironically enough, it is the same person as it was all of those years ago. I considered asking if they could do it for the second pre release. There is no question at this point that you're going to get crazy pulls or garbage pulls. Everything is clustered at one point in the box.
IMO, shuffling the packs should be standard at Pre Releases, but I'm sure that's a whole other argument in itself that I haven't considered. Just seems fair to me.
Oh yeah, meant to add earlier, have people had issues with miscut cards in this set? In one our boxes (the one with no secret rares or EX's, just 2 Ace Specs) had virtually all of the cards miscut.

Yeah, I think in the future I'll be shuffling the packs around if we have time. It was just one of those things that was like "well, that's weird" and just thinking it wouldn't happen again because you know... Randomness... But I think it might be a bit more than coincidence at this point. At least with the product we got, it seems.

I couldn't express enough how happy I was with this box I freaked out...but then box 2 came along..

The candy was cool, but after my horrid incidents with PLF I was nervous to buy boxes, pull rates are ridiculous as ever. Not sure if I love or hate it, because at $100 a pop, we all know the risks going into it

Had one person at the draft we did after the PR today hit 2 FA and 2 EX in a span of five packs.
The box that myself and the person who helped me run them had 1 FA / 3 EX / 1 AC, and the box I opened tonight had 1 FA, 2 EX, and 3 AC.
Basically, this set is a complete tossup.
