Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Ratio's of Game Winning Contributors.

90% deck
5% skill (This applies to mirror and tough matchups)
5% luck (With a good deck you don't lose on luck often)

Honestly if you don't agree with deck being 90% go play at States with a Starter deck or a deck with 0 trainers and LMK if you went 5-0 on skill and luck.

I agree that its 90% deck. Then the good players have either 100 % of what is left of the 10% of luck or skill. I would rather be lucky than good. Thats because I am both unlucky and no good. It does take skill to build a good deck.

this is
10% luck
20% skill
15% concentrated power of will
5% pleasure
50% pain

ANd 100% reason to remember the name!

No but really.. Prolly likw 50% 45% 5%

40% A well built deck is everything. Especiall if it is metagamed correctly
40% Not just anyone can play a deck. You have to know it inside and out and what it can do
20% A well built deck has rare occasions of bad hands. But yes, everyone gets donked.
Exactly what I was going to say. A good deck build makes playing the deck easier also.

Funny how people just copy what other more respected people say.
Funny how you have no idea what you're talking about. Obviously after a while people are going to have the same answers, and to keep it simple I just went with 40-20-20. It's fairly obvious that luck is not the biggest factor, and skill and deckbuilding are about the same. If you have an awful build of a deck, you wont win no matter how good your skill is. If you cant play a deck at all, you wont win no matter what the build of your deck is. The two go hand in hand.

Just to steer the thread away from "Funny how X" I'm going to post my opinion on the subject. As previously said before, a deck's build has a lot to do with the luck you are given, and it also contributes to your play, and the decisions you are made to make. That being said, I'm almosy certain that deck build is the single most importaint factor, above luck and skill. I would also put skill and luck as reletively close to one another, as you can't play your way out of certain situations without luck, and without skill, having the right cards does nothing for you.

In conclusion, my percents are as follows:
55% Deck build
25% Skill of the player
20% Luck

Funny how a lot over people overrate (their) skills.

LOL..

Just like most drivers believing themselves to be better than average. Or Politicians being horrified that half of the population have a below average IQ.

I would say:

50% Deck build
30% Skill
20% Luck

I think as many have stated that the build of the deck can have a great influence on your luck and can be tuned somewhat to your skill. I'm sure that it varies as players improve but I teach a lot of new players and see a bunch at league. If two new players have the same theme deck and play almost always the one with more skill will win because even if the other player is lucky enough to draw the Trainer that they need, for example, they are not always skilled enough to know that is the card they need to play.

You forgot deck CHOICE, not just build.

it is 60% choice, 20% skill, 15% build and 5% luck.

Good point. The more you think about this, the deeper it gets. If your talking a Rogue deck then deck choice and deck build almost become one and the same. They morph together to become meta gaming skill. If your talking net decking, then I don't really consider changing a card here or there, to suit ones playing style, meta gaming.

\\

the Choice for the deck is luck, take the right one and you win, take the wrong one and you loose (well not that straight)
That Choice is not always based on Knowledge but partial on guess (don't know how to explain), you can think you have the Anti-deck but it can turn out to be the worst choice ever.

Deck 35 Skill 45 Luck 20

Deck is important cuz if u play a Gardylade in a Blissey Heavy enviroment, ure gonna have the advantage. Skill is what wins games, the ability to comeback when the chips are down and pull it out til the very end. Luck is for coin flips and draws.
