Red Gyarados Scratched

Anyone else have problems with scratched Red Gyarados? We have pulled 2 reverse Red Gyarados and both have similar horizontal scratches that are really straight/even and look like manufacture / packing damage.

My RH Red Gyarados also has one of those scratches. And strangly enough it was the only foil card in the box that came like that.

If it is a straight line that is from the machines, it is considered by many to be Mint. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

While it may still count as mint, I think that algernon was more wondering why it seems to only happen to the Red Gyarados (in this set anyway). I know that I would like to know why it was the only card in my box to have it.
 
Are you reffering to scratches on the card like this

If so, then that comes on some RH's from HGSS when you pull other cards from the pack and they scratch up and rub up against the RH in the pack. I got those scratches, not on my Red Gyrados, but on my RH mareep, and RH Chansey.
 
Foils have had this on them randomly since the beginning of foils in Pokemon. It happens, you learn to deal with it happening to cards you wish it didn't happen to. If I pulled it with those lines out of the pack, it really can't be consider anything but Mint. Granted PSA might tell me it is a 8 or 9, but that to me is acceptable as Mint.

I think that qwachansey is goingto have a problem with that...

*Checks* Yeah, it's definately a scratch. One big one and two small ones to be exact. And they're perfectly straight from left to right. I doubt that it was caused by the cards rubbing together like Absoltrainer said because then the scratch wouldn't be perfectly sraight. And I doubt that it would be the only card in my box to get "accedentaly" scratched by the card above it.
 
I bought an SP Deck (The one with Rhyperior 4) and it had A LARGE STICKY fingerprint on it. (Not even open either!) Which was really weird. Lucky I was able to get some of it off but still HOW?

I'll try and get some scans of ours. We pulled two RH Gyarados and they are both flawed prints on the foil pattern, with lines that run from side to side, I believe they are vertical print lines. Most all of our foils were perfect but a few had this print error.

Somebody doing some bad handeling/check during manufacture. :eek:
 
Someday, I'd love to visit the printer to see how the cards are produced and packaged. I'd probably have a few recommendations for improvements in quality assurance. I dislike machine scratches on my foils / reverse-foils.
 
Yeah, mine has it too. I also have the promo Heatran LV. X and it has a wavy line on the top that looks like it was done by someone's fingernail. :frown:
 
To add to the list, I own an Arcanine and Noctowl with the same line thing. I though it was pretty neat. =3 The Arcanine's line is epic; it looked as though it was supposed to be there. I looked like a big firey pattern on the card. <3

This might be totally different but I have seen a RH Dialga G that had black ink that was randomly on the side of the card. I thought it was because the ink didn't dry properly, and spread. Also, it is probably the same for pokemonrock's card
