After hearing the recent announcement of there being development of an EX-on format, I have come to the conclusion that it is a bad idea. There are so many broken combos, that anyone who likes the idea doesn't know a thing about Pokemon, and should instead play Duel Masters.

Here are some examples of broken combos:

1. Porygon-Z: With more TMs at its disposal, Porygon-Z will now be able to do mega amounts of damage.

2. Gengar: With windstorms, Gengar can now hit ANYONE with powers for 60 damage!

3. Unown P + Weezing: Self-Explanatory.

4. X+Y: Secret.

And there's probably MANY more other broken combos out there.

Well, RS on for a new Unlimited format I would definitely agree with. Pre RS, there is just too much broken trainers to make it any fun. Flip a coin.
 
First off, the format has not been announced as "in development" - it's simply a side event at Worlds.

However, there "are" a lot of good decks...With other decks to balance those out:

-Porygon-Z can ironically collapse to a technical Machine of its own: ATM Ice.

-With the legitimate draw and search options of an extended format, you could feasibly play Rock-Lock without any Poke-Powers, and smash Gengar in.

-Latias d/Latios d or Dialga G LV.X destroy Weezing.


Of course, all of these counters have "counter-counters," but this is a start. At the moment, I don't see it being a big issue!

X+Y cannot be countered. From turn 1, you're dominated. (Hint: Swoop Teleporter.)
 
Dialga G Lv. X wins against all of it. Turn one deafen made easier by Castaway/Cyrus. =)

Yeah, because that's easily the most creative deck you could make in a format with like 2034823 sets in it...

A FORMAT FULL OF PEOPLE USING MAINSTREAM FANBOY DECKS FROM YEARS PAST I CAN'T WAIT
 
Mightyena Delta with the trainers from the newer sets deals 80+ damage consistently from T2-On

Crobat G just keeps getting better with things like Brineys hanging around.

Magma/Aqua gets an interesting boost from some of the newer cards coupled with things like Scramble and DRE.

Also Mew Ex LM is quite fun with some SP Pokes, as I have been messing around in FRLG-On lately.
 
Actually me and Spinda have been talking recently about a RS on "extended" format, i think it could be good to do multiple Modified format giving older cards value again and increasing sales from the secondary market

I concur, this is one of the most interesting ideas I've seen in years. The fact that there are a ton of broken combos means variety, unless there's one single dominant deck, we'll be seeing some very interesting ideas coming out for this format.
 
O wow, I'de pay RS on, would make the game frun for me again.
EDIT: BAWW I had my lugia Exs, Steelix EXs, and Blastoise EX's signed at worlds!
