Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Should "Make a Wish" Jirachi be Reprinted?

Emmmm Furret DP3 anyone? Search 2 Cards without energy...

Spoiler ahead:

Furret L.35 – Colorless – HP90
Stage 1 – Evolves from Sentret

[.] Keen Eye: Search your deck for up to 2 cards and put them in your hand. Shuffle your deck afterward.
[C][C] Baton Pass: 40 damage. You may switch Furret with 1 of your Benched Pokemon. If you do, you may move any number of Energy from Furret to the newly switched in Pokemon.

Weakness: Fighting (+20)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 1

Ok... fighting weakness... any other idea?

there is no need for another idea
this is the best card ever made

Maybe the rest of you should just grow up and trying breaking the format without some crutch card to do it for you.

I don't think that this is about getting a "crutch card". It's about bringing balance to a format which may very well get dominated by faster decks. I think that a better starter is in order. It doesn't have to be Jirachi, but it should be something that doesn't get owned by cards like Team Galactic's Wager.

Jirachi HL would be nice, but its absence is somewhat compensated for by cards like Budew and Chingling. They don't allow you to bypass the rules of evolution like Jirachi did, but Budew can grab Candy, and Chingling can find Celio/Bebe/Elm to get those evolutions into your hand. Wager beats them, of course, but it's better than nothing. And I'm not seeing a lot of decks maxing out on Wager right now, anyway. Only a few can get away with it, and half the time it backfires, so Chingling provides decent support even with hand disruption back in the game.

Long story short, we don't need Jirachi back to balance the TCG, especially before BRs have even started. We don't know what the metagame will be (although this is probably the clearest it's ever been pre-season), so we can't say anything, yet.

just happened to read this thread

Pejorative. Superior. Insulting.

Sure, "everybody's doing it" but you don't have to be everybody.

Members, this is not the tone we'd like to see on the Gym.

No infractions this time, but bonus points after 9/7 for the named parties.

Would be nice to get something with a bit more than 40HP that can assist with the setup. Mew DP3 shows promise.

forgive me if i sound rude 'snore, but whining isnt the best tone to hear either
what would you rather see? people complaining "we need blablabla back" or "since we lost blablabla, here is a card that works in his stead"
personally, id rather see solutions than constant whining, hence why i supported articjedi's post

I think it's arguable that nothing really works all that well in the place of the starters that we've lost. But this isn't really the problem. The issue here is that set-up decks seem like they'll be losing a good deal of power with starters that may not be able to compete with faster decks, which seem to have gained quite a good deal of power.

The reason why I suggested Jirachi HL instead of, say, Dunsparce SS was because Jirachi gets out evolved pokemon to the feild. If a basic that can do that comes out (As I said before, it doesn't necessarily have to be Jirachi. It could be something only remotely similar), many set-up decks may gain playability.

Superwooper was probably right when he said that we should wait for the Battle Roads to see what the metagame is before we start worrying about these kinds of things.

Yup, that's about all I have to say about that.

i think the point they where adressing vrs say a pinsr d and the other setup pokes is there vulnerability to getting shuffled back in and there lack of "now" timing

I apologize if that was insulting, but I'm sick of hearing the whining around this board over our new format. There's just so much crap I can take about trans being gone, or jirachi dx being gone, or whatever card someone wants back because they don't like the way the game changed. People like that should spend their energy adapting instead of talking about their sour grapes.

I think the new game play involves useful attacks:

- Furret searching cards from the deck
- A lot of PKMN getting energy from deck.
- Who knows what next...

I think the era of PKMN Powers for getting cards or getting a deck advantage are gone... That's why Delcatty is over-used with everything... Bronzong seems like a worse Delcatty now. but when Delcatty gone...
