Someone Needs Your Kindness!!!

Hello,

There is a wonderful Australian boy by the name of Liam. He just turned 13 and he is a huge Pokemon fan. He's just a kid like most of you.

Liam has been fighting a very agressive kind of cancer since Christmas and he is not doing well at all. My family and I have decided to send him some of our goodies from worlds hoping it will make him happy and cheer him up.

If any of you would like to help put a smile on his face, we would be forever grateful if you would make a small donation. You can give him a pokemon card with a "get well" message, a hat, a pencil, a t-shirt, a dice anything.... anything at all you can spare and that you won't mind living without. It would make a huge difference to this young boy, and it would be a beautiful message to send.... just letting him know that the whole Pokemon community/family is thinking of him and wishing him well would mean the world to both Liam and his family.

If you would like to participate in this unselfish act, please bring me your contribution at worlds. I'm reasonably easy to spot.... I'm the one bossing all the translators around (usually wearing a tiara).

Thank you for reading this and for including Liam and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

What size shirt does he wear Pia? I have some shirts from past nats and worlds I can spare, if the size is right. LMK.

Thank you all for your amazing kindness!

I think his t-shirt size is M but L would be great too. As he is confined to a hospital bed he could wear it instead of pyjamas .... would be nice for him to wear a nice, bright pokemon t-shirt in bed instead of the usual dull white stuff they give you.

The family spirit of the pokemon community never ceases to amaze me!

gratefully
Pia

Hey Pia,

it's Dennis (Angelika S. son ;)) from Germany and I'd be glad to donate some stuff, what exactly are you looking for?
I have some sleeves, a dicebag and also some dice I could bring ;)

Hi Dennis,

Anything would be brilliant! Sleeves, a dicebag... sounds perfect!

Thank you - we really appreciate your help.

Best of wishes - and best of luck - to Liam. I'll be sure to bring some extra gear.

are you serious??

Which Liam is it?
Liam C?

Yes I am serious.. unfortunately. And this is not something I would ever joke about. Liam is not an "organised play" member so I doubt very much that you know him. However, he is still a huge pokemon fan. For the past many months he has been in a hospital bed and the only thing he does is play pokemon games on his DS. Right now, his biggest ambition is to live long enough to get the next pokemon game from Japan (I have no idea when it will be out.... nor what it's called).

Anyway he likes anything pokemon related and I truly believe that a box of pokemon goodies would make him happy and give him new hope for the future and I firmly believe that the pokemon community will once again come together and change a childs life for the better.... and it will make his family very happy too. Through the past many months were my son has been seriously ill, it meant the world to both him and I to receive so many mails, cards, parcels, thoughts and wishes from our pokemon family. Just knowing that someone is thinking of you through trying times gives you the strength to carry on.

Sad times L

Plus a bunch of stickers and goodies etc....

I can ship this directly to him so its there before / during worlds (please let me know an address to send too).

Plus:

Please let me know if there is something he has ‘always’ wanted or if he has a favorite Pokemon.

Plus:

I will also take this chance to ask the whole community that will be attending worlds to find / win / trade / beg for one of the Nintendo Pokémon DSi's normally only given to T16 or whatever.

Please get one and either find Pia (wearing her Tiara) or Mike (Pokepop), Vince (Meganium45), Keith (Lawman) or John (The_Sniper) and give it to them (they will find Pia).

Once Pia has one then she will take your name and address and Gym name and I will pay you a fair price for the DS.

I will pay for one of the special DS's from this years worlds, once Pia has one then she will politely turn others away, I have a figure in my mind that is fair and I will not post that here, lets just say you will happy

Lets get this boy a shiney new Pokemon DS!

Thanks

Mozz

My prayers will be with him. By the way, what pokemon does he like? I am sure I would be able to donate.

Best wishes,

Sam.

I plan on being there, and I can bring a full set of the Kanto (the more current and better looking), and a fill set of the Sinnoh league badges.

Pia,

Tonja and I just did this same thing for a boy here that is suffering from leukemia. He is from New Mexico and travels to Colorado Children's Hospital for treatment. He stays at the hotel that I work at.

When I heard that he is a huge Pokemon fan, we put together a Blastoise bag full of stuff. It made his whole day. He had been feeling sick that morning, but felt much better when I met him and gave him his goodies. Happiness can help a lot with sick kids to make them feel better - at least temporarily.

Tonja and I will get together some stuff to bring to worlds for this cause. We would be glad to.

Wayne
