Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Spread: A(n) (Un)Viable Strategy in The Current Format?

^ I personally think Gallade 4 has a chance. Dialga G already fits in as Gallade is SP.

Other top spreaders are Bronzong, Abomasnow, and Manectric. All 3 use Bodies, and Abomasnow is the only one that isn't severely effected by the loss.

How can spread be dead? Alakazam isn't even being played with right now. Most of the decks Nidoqueen are apart of are inconsistant. Mother Gengar can be played around in masters. It's the way people think, that's the problem.

well, I, being a !!!HUAGE!!! fan of Dusknoir, think that Dusky can still be a viable choice, as it can play around Gengar, and paired with Dialga G LV.X, can counter Nidoqueen fairly easily. Most decks attack for less than 3 energy, and making them waste an attachment, just to attack, is an added bonus:biggrin:. Unown G prevents being Shadow Roomed, and Mesprit Lock prevents Crobat G snipe. So yes, i think that spread is far from dead.

Spread can be good, it'sjust not as versatile anymore. Pretty much the only good spread decks are Gallade 4 and Palkia Lock

I really dont think you should consider Palkia a Spread Deck :/
Its lock&snipe, I use Pearl Breath sooo rarely

there aren't really any spread decks like delta or speed spread or rocklock in today's metagame- its mostly sniping. a few minor pearl breaths isn't like spreading 80 damage around and getting KOs ONLY through a spread attack.

with spintail, atm rock, delta, cursed stone, etc. you had a genuine spread deck, where you didn't take KOs until later in the game, and intended to spread damage around such that the spread itself would kill (not attacks like pearl breath where the 50 damage is the main damage output).

i think there is a definite difference. if your palkia had 2 spiritombs and like 4 crobats it might be considered more of a spread- but that's unlikely. normally the spread damage from pearl breath is used to set up KOs- not to take them, marking a distinct difference from a true spread deck IMO.

obama was the only true spread deck ive seen this year

Just because it might snipe doesn't mean it isn't spread.

Snipe can combo with spread to sweep even easier.

What about Ampharos/Bronzong decks around pre-States (Pre-PL 'cuz Dialga G)? Those were great spread decks, I don't think Abomasnow is the only spread this year. Also there was tons of Abomasnow/Manectric/Cress at my States/Regs. Manectric deserves a mention ;P

Nidoqueen hurts spread a bit, but the real killer is PokeTurn and Palkia G LV X

Against SP decks, if you are not getting a OHKO, then you might well not get a prize at all as the damaged Pokemon just gets Turned or Cycloned.

Gallade 4 is a great deck withg luxray GL lv. X
You see nidoran and bring it up with lux and get the 1hko and when they drop down nidoqueen you just bring up nido withh lux and hit with lux 1 time and then hit with gallade for weakness
