Also, I have about 30 extra bucks to spend. Would you recommend spending it on the noble victories sneak peek, using it to participate in the theme deck challenge, or using it to upgrade my reshiphlosion deck?

one more thing, this is my first pokemon tournament, so I dont have a POP ID. Will I be able to get one there?
 
Just a thought...is anyone planning on filming any matches? It would be awesome to get video of the top cut, especially the finals.
 
JWittz and the Top Cut will have access to certain select matches to film and stream.

I have been overly impressed with the way they handled themselves at Nationals and Worlds.

Just out of curiosity, but how will this process work? Jwittz/TheTopCut will approach the players in question, ask if they want to be videotaped, and then do so if given the permission?
 
Missing a step. They will go through either Clay or myself to ask permission. We are having a "feature match" table where both players can go sit, be taped, etc, so that the top cut would not hae to move equipment every round.

Both players must consent to the taping of the match.

So, this is only for the Top Cut, right? Nothing for the Swiss rounds?

Also, any update on the Side Events? Friday night?
 
As counter-intuitive as it sounds, we will allow the "Top Cut" to tape the swiss rounds.

The events on Friday will begin at 3:00 pm, and are mostly the runners and a win-a-mat or two.

The Theme Deck Challenge, and modified charity event will begin at 6:30

Here is our Schedule of Events for the Regionals! (Things are subject to change, as needed)

FRIDAY
3:00-8 Person Runner
5:00- 8 Person Runners
$5.00 each, 3 Rounds,Players receive a pack after each round won, players who go 0-3 still get a pack

7:00- Noble Victories Theme Deck Challenge $30.00
Players receive each of the new Noble Victories theme decks to construct a 40 card deck. After each round players receive a Booster to modify their decks with. Rounds are 2 out of 3/ 40 minutes long.
PRIZES: 1st-18 packs Noble Victories
2nd- 10 packs of NV
3rd & 4th- 4 packs of NV
Packs will be shipped upon release
SATURDAY
Regional TCG, Registration 8:30-10:00am, Seating around 10:30 TOP CUT on SUNDAY
FREE :) Number of Rounds based on Attendance, See www.pokemon.,com for Prize Details

1:00- 8 Person Runner
$5.00 each, 3 Rounds,Players receive a pack after each round won, players who go 0-3 still get a pack

3:00- Booster Draft (Pass or Rochester, both choices will be available if requested)
$15.00 Set TBA
PRIZES 1st -4 packs, 2nd- 2 packs, 3rd & 4th- 1 pack

5:00- Win-a-Mat
$7.00 8 player Pods, 3 Rounds
1 Pack for Entering, 1st Place-Official Pokemon Playmat

Art Contest
Bring in your Art Project of your Favorite Pokemon related art.
All submissions due before Round 1. Players will vote for their favorites in each age division between Rounds 1 thru 4
Winners announced between Rounds 5 & 6
Prizes for top 4 in each division.

Cookie Walk
Cookie walk will be open between rounds

Trivia Contest/Whose that Pokemon
Pick up your Trivia sheet after Round 2
Sheets due back between Rounds 4 & 5
Winners announced between Rounds 5 & 6

Mark our map and the fatherest away will win fun Yeti Prizes,

Charity Raffles
Please bring in 2 can goods or toiletry items or a New unwrapped toy. Each donation will give you a ticket for our 2 Raffles

Come by the Side Events area to pick up your League cards
Pick an opponent to play a match of either TCG or VG

We are working on the idea of adding 8 person VG Runners as well

As far as Food, We will have a few of our St. Louis Area Food Trucks on Site to feed us. The details are still being worked out, but it sounds like they will be at the Mall between 11 am-3pm. with 2 Savory & 1 Sweet Truck. I will let you know the tasty details when I know them.

It's now 12:30 in the morning, and we are all still high on the CARDS winning the World Series (as Vince would say-WOOT!)
So everything is subject to change, and I will blame any errors on such :)

This is going to be a GREAT Event! I can't wait to see everyone here!!!

By the way, is the 6:00 pm "pre-quel" event still being run for Friday?
 
I cant wait for regionals this year. Last year was a blast, I love playing at Yeti, I know there will be at least 3 from my group coming again this year. I look forward to being there again.

Thanks John, you players make it easy for all of us to have fun at this game.

We get serious sometimes, but we all get to laugh afterwards and realize, it is a GAME that we all love.

Can't wait to see you all in...LESS THAN 2 WEEKS!!!

hey Vince. could you explain to me what the travel award is? because pretty much if it is what i think it is than that will be the only way for me to go to Nats :/
 
The travel award TRADITIONALLY has been travel to Nationals (plane or reimbursement for mileage) and hotel connected to the venue for 4 nights (might be 3,..could be wrong).
