Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

St. Louis Regionals Going 2-Day April 16 - 17 th

Got a newbie hooked on the game and this will be his first event. He's excited, and I know you won't let him down, Vince :)

Any new stores at the mall? Because my dad had trouble finding anything to do there last time. But great place as far as the tourney goes. Good amount of space. Fun enviornment. Can't wait. And 2 days kind of ruined some of my plans, but I still think it's a good choice in general.

Nothing to do?!? Come one build your Dad a deck and then you wont have to worry about him getting board.

Any new details on those hotels, Vince? My guys are looking to plan ahead, and any hotel specials will really help with that. Thx!

There's a Best Buy and a Schnucks(grocery store) across the street. Also StarBucks and a Mexican Restaurant with margaritas pretty in a nearby shopping center.

What's the plan for top cut? I assume there will probably be a Top 16. Will we play all of cut Sunday or will we play part of cut Saturday night and finish up Sunday morning? Thanks

Brit

The average dad does not enjoy Pokemon, lol.

As the father of a seven year old, and having known many parents at my League who I have tought this game to and watched them enjoy it. I find that statement very hard to believe.

I agree with J, we have a few parents that play at leauge.
Still on the edge of my seat here, the anticipation is killing me...

Sorry for the lack of updates, I know you all are sitting and waiting.

The Viking is a great hotel to stay at, and there are a lot of hotels in the strip just off of Highway 4 and Lindbergh.

Old adage, the farther you are willing to go out West on 44, the more reasonable the hotels get.

I will see about getting some rates popped up here this week.

Man, so many cool events. One little Regional. Good thing we have 3 days!

Vince

Oh, and for any parent who does not like to play the game, or hasn't tried the game, and has kids who like to play, think about what a cool bonding experience it could be, with you both enjoying something your child enjoys. When you get into the game, it is a fun game, that does not require you to "win or else" as a parent.

It does allow you to communicate with your kids about something as innocent as Pokemon, and get a peek into their lives in a way that if you do not play you miss.

Hopping off of soapbox now. Have played with my kids for over 10 years now!

There is some great stuff on 44 just outside of the 270 loop (about 10 minutes away).

2-bedroom suite at TownePlace (Marriott) in Fenton for $109 a night. Other nice properties just a couple more minutes down the highway.

Stayed at the Hampton Inn on Lindbergh (about 5 minutes away) last year, also great (but a bit higher IIRC). In any case, good hotels are not a problem for this event.

I just usually say Priceline is my best friend for these things. Unless, of course, I can stay with family (which I can't for this).

Some of the parents I've seen who play don't look "average" in my opinion :p

You can certainly bring your MTAC fliers. This is a Regional event, and we want to promote events in the Region.

We will CERTAINLY be promoting the Black and White Prereleases with fliers, and other upcoming events.
