States and rogues

The (what going to win states) thread was closed so I figured I would talk about what red face paint deck would win rather than what GG deck or Magmortar deck would win.

My personal look on what red face paint deck will win would have to almost def. have -X resistane to :fighting:.
To make GG slower or maybe even -X resistance to :fire: as well.

One Pokemon I noticed having both -30 to :fighting::fire: was salemence ex from DF and the new sw one has -20 to :fighting:. I like the DF salemnece because it can type change (covering grass decks) it has resistance to the top two Pokemon in the format magmortar AND gallade.

Another pokemon I found (while looking through my enormous binder of cards ) was that pesky crobat.
now I realize its attack is pretty harsh but it has snipe ability and poisons upon coming into play which is pretty nice and free retreat. its basic zubat even has -20:fighting: .

I hope that we can find a way to counter these two effectivly AND be able to fend off other red face paint decks I mean there still are blissys floating around .

I think if any rogue decks win states they will more then likely include cards from GE. I'm sure there will be a few rogue decks that will be competitive but I dont know if any of them will be #1 at the end of the day. Right now there's just not a lot of cards to counter GG and Magmortor, but hopefully that will change with the DP5 set.

A good Arbok/Weezing/Toxicroak deck might be good. Arbok can be doing 80 damage to G&G (100 with Lake Boundary), while Weezing means you'll get a good 60 extra from Poison damage. Toxicroak means that it will be hard for them to get rid of Poison.

I like T2 Seaking, in my oppinion it's a counter to Magmortar, but... I don't know how well it will fare against G&G, which is more popular then Fire TRUK.

mmmm that one deck that DukeFireBird has seems pretty promising its *gets hit in head*

I only know about 4 "rogue" decks. They all seem ok.

In my opinion, if a rogue deck wins, the player who wins with it will have to be semi-well known for it to even catch on like Destiny did. No offense to lesser known players, but that is just how it goes..

Gyarados is not too bad, except for it's basic. 4 flips for Gallade, OHKOs Magmortar with it's attack and can do decent damage from T2 if you use Jolteon* (like OHKO Magmar with Jolteon*+Flail). I've also seen Magikarp OHKO Magmar for a game. Goes well with Unown E and G.

Poison.dec has been discussed much, but Gardevoir Lv. X running around it's not too easy for that either. Plus there are cards that completely ruin the said deck.

Darkrai has a nasty weakness, so I won't mention it again. Same with Sceptile-whatever you choose to play with it. They aren't really contenders against both Magmortar and GG.

Will water emerge? There's practically no lightning in game right now except for Pachirisu, and Swampert brought some good energy manipulation for W decks, along with Palkia X disturbing setup decks. Claydol gives a lot of consistency for quite a lot of decks, so playing Stage 2 rogues might actually be worth it.

I think whoever does do well with a red face paint deck, will spend a lot of time building and running the **** out of it!!! I know it takes me a good 2-3 hours to build a new deck, just figuring out what trainer line to use is what takes so long. I am trying to build something to counter both, but it is very tough, and it can be irritating too. If that red face paint deck does do well, that individual deserves alot of respect, even if they dont win. ****, anybody can make a "cookie-cutter" deck and win, but it takes a lot of skill and mind to build something new and do well, even if they dont come out Champion!!!:thumb:

I am talking about just trying to build it, I dont mean Testing or editing it. I meant just initial building. You are right, DCP, it takes a good Month to build something new succesful!!!

The red face paint decks that i believe will hit hard are:
Someone who uses FLYGON EX deck, because its a psychic type and has no weakness and both Gardevoir and Gallade are weak to psychic. And if you are worrying about Sonic Blade Unown G comes into play.

If you arent expecting to go against a water deck by now then you should. Because water right now to me has only 2 things it needs to worry about and thats electric ( which is not played much and thanks to Glacia's Stadium you dont have to worry about weakness) and pokemon who have resistance to Water.

A Poison deck is a threat to any deck no matter what your running. Im not saying your not going to get beat by it. Im saying that Poison is deadly if one does not anticipate it.

A Grass deck is not likely but should not be over looked. Remember the grass MODO The grass is always greener on the other side.

A Dark deck is going to be seen because of its very high populararity now Thanks to DARKRAI!!!

HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A NICE DAY!!!

You could run Ray D HP for Weakness, that will give all YOUR water pokemon, no weakness. I ran it in my Blastoise deck, I love it!!! Speaking of Flygon EX, I just posted a deck idea about that.

Ok ok all this is great stuff !

I was just looking through my stuff agian and MILOTIC is amiazing run both the :water: one ,completely screws any LV.X and the :fire: one ,lets you use opponents supporters for set up ! Add that in some sort of water deck.
OH! and febas searches your deck for ANY evolution card!

I also see flygon d EX seeing more play aswell

Thanksss I'm flattered...

I've been playing it in my new deck and its pretty nasty
It really works (not as good as gardy but its a st1 which makes it faster)
+ the :water: milotic will in fact help vs. gallade (its attack discards energy ..up to 2!)

Gyrados is another VERY good card hint* hint*

venasaur :D
i think venomoth is good alsoo because its resistance to gallade and it prevents effects of attacks.
i play the two together :D

i don't think those cards will make a comeback, they didn't even work when lucario dominated so since gallade is much better i doubt we'll see them comeback

venomoth is good but it's resistance doesn't help it much, with kind of low hp, and fire weakness is pretty bad

flygon ex had a chance because it was with kingdra and it also reduces damage with it's body, i don't think other similar cards are overlooked, i just think they're UNDERTESTED
