Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Supreme Victors Cynthia's Guidance Revealed

this card would be so much better if it was just a trainer

You could say the same thing about ANY Supporter.

That is huge! How many of you guys use POV looking for 1 card you need?

That's a good question. I haven't seen POV used in a top tier decks for a long time. Felicity gets played in decks that use the discard, and Volkners sees a little play, but straight draw Supporters have largely been replaced by Claydol/Uxie, or by Trainers like Drawer and Dex which can be used in multiples.

Not sure if this card will do much to change that. For your one Supporter per turn, you usually want something that guarantees you the card you want.

Staple Card!!!! now you can search energy trainer pokemon Rare candy Pokemon retriever...why draw when you can grab exactly what you want and need!

I don't like this at all. The only use I can see for it is in a deck that runs 4 Cyrus and some VS Seekrs, so you could use it at the exact right moment. Still, it's only the best out of SEVEN. That's not a big pool to choose from when you've using up your Supporter for the turn to draw one single card!

This card is terrible.... you only get to choose ONE and waste your supporter for that turn??? are you kidding me? I could run a volkners and draw at least 2 or 3... Or play bebes/uxie for the 4-5 cards...

It'd be a good card for decks that HAVE to get a specific card in a deck.... maybe blazetran.... even then i see limited use.

I'd probably put this on the same level as Rival. Better than Mom, but not by much.

Pokemon needs more deck manipulation there is way too much search/draw and no deck manipulation. MTG has a ton of it and little search/draw unless you build for it.

I've got too many cards that take up the 'my few supporter places' in my deck, this one doesn't top
Roseanne's Research, Bebe's Search, Proffessor Oak's Visit, Cynthia's Feelings, Cyrus's Conspieracy,
Arron's Collection, Flints Willpower...I just can't see a deck that will want to run this card over the good
supporters in the format. Though it will be an excellent card to give to my begginers to help them have
SOMETHING to work with in their starter decks! Put it with the Potions!

Yeah... I'm gonna have to say that this is probably the closest thing today's format will see in terms of replicating Base Set's "Computer Search"... This supporter will become essential in all decks. ESPECIALLY once Claydol finally gets the boot.

I love it.

It's a Masterball ... but of ANY 1 card.
I'm going to swap BeBe out for it.
Some times you don't need a Pokemon. You need an a healer, a warp point.. etc.

My prediction is it will be much more flexible and will speed up my deck at an alarming rate.

Well, all one needs to do is look at the winning decks from when (Aquapolis?) was legal to see that it wasn't in any of the top decks. Why wasn't it? Because taking 1 card out of 7 for a supporter is not good. Master Ball/Dusk Ball are barely played and they aren't supporters!

Even with the extreme lack of good supporters in this format, Cynthia's Guidance aka Forest Guardian will not be played in the best decks. It simply isn't strong. Like Chuck said, I'd rather take 2 random cards than get to pick 1 out of 7. I'd play Pokeball over this card! There are just WAY too many better cards out there to waste slots in your deck, as well as your supporter for the turn, on a 1/7 chance. Unless you only play 4 of cards in your deck, odds are you won't hit what you absolutely need the majority of the time.

For anyone that doesn't believe me, try it out and see how successful you are with it.

The other two Supporters from SV (Cyrus's Initiative and [del]Town Volunteers[/del] Palmer's Contribution) are both better than this. Cyrus's Initiative provides disruption, and Palmer's Contribution is an improved version of an already good card, but Cynthia's Guidance is useless because you could just use Roseanne's Research or Bebe's Search to do the exact same thing, except that they aren't limited to the top 7 cards of your deck.
