Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Survivor: The Return - Next Challenge is Posted!

Okay, I've been gone because I lost power, bad me. And another storm came, so I'm hurrying this up fast.

Next challenge: New Pokemon
Create a new pokemon that is part of an existing line. Such as a pre-evo/evo of a current pokemon(e.g. Weavile, Mime Jr.). If there are 3 pokemon in that line, you can not add to it. It has to have 2 pokemon or less in the evo line.

Rubric:
Name - Make it make sense but not be too obvious. 10/10
Description - What it looks like, size, colors, everything. Make it crystal clear. 35/35
Move Set - GB style moves. They can be existing ones or new ones, but must contain the following: Power, Accuracy, and Effects. 40/40
Explanation - Explain why you decided to add on to that certain evo line. 10/10
Total: 95/95

Entries must be PM'd to Burninating_Torchic. They are due 7:00 PM Central time on 7/24, aka Monday night.

BT knows the schedule from there. BTW, sdrawkcab is back in Survivor. Good luck!

Uh, MM? You put "Move Set" in the rubric but didn't give it a description or a point value
o_O
Thanks for pointing that out. There was ANOTHER storm this morning and when I was posting this the window freezed and closed itself. So I had to repost it then get off fast.

I'll add that. :p

PABLO:
Name: Rubix
Evolution Chain: Rubix --> Onix --> Steelix

Description: A small red pebble similar to those that compose Onix's body, with three other smaller pebbles identical to Onix;s last three and a small bump on its head which will later develop into Onix's horn. Its eyes are a bit more rounded than Onix;s, to give it the more baby cute Pokemon kind of look, as well as its mouth is not that big.

Type: Ground/Rock
Height: 10' 10"
Weight: 250.0 lb

Despite its smaller size, since the baby pre evolution is kind of like Onix's tail, it will still weigh quite alot as Onix's and steelix's tail must be the hardest part of their body as I believe it is with their tail that they perform physical attacks.

Ability: Rock Head - Rubix recieves no Re-Coil Damage
Move Set:
Tackle: Power 35 Accuracy 95% Charges the foe with a full body tackle.

Harden: Power N/A Accuracy N/A (or 100% but N/A per the GB exact attack) Stiffens the bodys muscles to raise Defense.

Bind: Power 15 Accuracy 75 Binds and squeezes the foe for 2 to 5 turns.

Tail Whap: Power 20 Accuracy 90% Slaps the foe with the users tail 2 to 3 times.

Explanation: It just seemed a cool one to do, I wouldnt do a Steelix evolution because Steelix already has high stats, and also IMO the thought of getting rocks out of an egg IS pretty funny, and getting a smaller Pokemon composed of 4 pebbles makes alot more sense than getting a huge Pokemon like Onix, so that is why I decided to make this pre-evolution.

Name - It follows the -ix theme of the evolution line, and it's not too obvious what the Rub- comes from, but it still seems to fit. 10/10
Description - Believe it or not, this was amazingly clear to imagine. You described everything in relation to Onix and that gave a good sense of proportion. The only thing is, are all the pebbles red, or is just one? Other than that though, great job. 33/35
Move Set - Of course. You even threw in an ability. These all fit nicely. 40/40
Explanation - Yes, that does make sense. Good job. 10/10
Total: 93/95. Excellent work, Pablo.

SCRAWKCAB:
Tridon fighting/metal TCG
(or Trydon) Ground/Metal GBA

Stage 2 pokemon, evolves from Rhydon.

Tridon is basicly a Triceratops. It walks on all fours and uses its horns as its primary weapon. Tridon's legs are extremly powerful, which he uses them to charge at high speeds. It has very rough skin, almost rock-like, with a stone-grey shade. Its eyes are dull shade of dark grey when its calm, and a blazing red when its agrivated. Generally Tridon is a call pokemon, who minds its own business, but when threatend it takes no time for it to charge in defence of its teritory. Tridon is rarely seen in the wild, as it evolves from Rhydon at level 85.

I havn't played the GBA games for over a year now, so I'll be a bit rusty on the power of their attacks.

Earth Quake 5/PP
Power-100 / 95% Accuracy
Effects: Earth Quake damages all other pokemon in play, exsept for flying type pokemon or pokemon with the levitate abillity

Rock Throw 20/PP
Power-50 / 100% Accuracy
Effects: Hits any one pokemon, including flying type.

Metal Rush 10/PP (New Attack)
Power-120 / 75% Accuracy
Effects: If this attack hits Tridon may only use

Embrace 5/PP
Power-NA / 100% Accuracy
Effects: Tridon's HP can not go lower than 10 from an opponents attack for your next two turns.

As I havn't played any GBA pokemon games for the last year, I will rate its stats into the following categories (High, above Average, Average, Below Average, and Poor)

Hit Points: High
Attack: High
Defence: High
Special Attack: Poor
Special Defence: Poor
Speed: Above Average

Explanation:
The reason I decided to evolve Rhydon is because I always felt it had more potential. When I first saw it, I thought it had a stage 2 version and was fairly disapointed when none came out. A Triceratops simply made logical sence. Trydon is easily my new favorit pokemon :D

Name - Yeah...makes sense...I keep getting it confused with Trigon, a villain in Teen Titans, but that's just me, I doubt many people would make that connection despite the difference of a single letter. 10/10
Description - You didn't detail its features enough. I think you assumed that "like a triceratops" would imply a lot, but what if someone has never seen a triceratops? We don't know if it has a tail, any horns, anything. 25/35
Move Set - "If this attack hits Tridon may only use". May only use WHAT? Also, Embrace is INSANELY broken. Embrace - attack - Embrace - attack-etc until you kill them without dying. 30/40
Explanation - A triceratops doesn't make logical sense to me. Rhydon isn't a dinosaur. 8/10
Total: 83/95. Not bad.

DUKEFIREBIRD:
Blader - prevolution of Scyther.looks like scyther, but a size comparison shows that scyther is a praying mantis, blader is a grasshopper. A lighter green than scyther, maybe 1 shade brighter. Small blades on its arms with a very lethal cut potentional.
Blader is a bug type as it does not have flight capaibility yet.

MOVES
False swipe
POW - 40
ACC - 100
Effects - cannot KO the opponent, leaves it with at least 1 HP

Double-slash
POW - 25
ACC - 85
Effects - does multiple slashes (2-5). (Think of doubleslap but stronger)

Jump
POW - 90
ACC - 75
Effects - User jumps into the air and lands on opponent using its blades to damage the opponent. This move fails in a sandstorm weather condition (The storm would blow Blader away)

Pinpoint
POW - NA
ACC - 100
Effects - locks on to opponent to ensure the next attack hits

The reason i chose this is because scyther didnt have any evolution in RBY, and gained 1 in GSC, and didnt get a 3rd one in RSE. And ive always wanted to see a baby scyther

Name - So cliche and obvious. 5/10
Description - Doesn't have flight capability? Does that mean it doesn't have wings? We don't know. Also, I don't appreciate making it look almost exactly like Scyther just to be safe - there should have been more differences then just those you mentioned. 25/35
Move Set - Hmm...something just seems wrong with either doubleslap or jump. For one thing, doubleslash is on a baby pokemon, I dont think it should be stronger then an attack that is on many basics and stage 1s. Something seems wrong with jump...the power. Sandstorms aren't very common, it's not that big of a drawback... 32/40
Explanation - Uh...hmm. You didn't really provide any logical proof why it needed one - Porygon, Onix, and Chansey all got evos in GSC but not in RSE, and you arent complaining about that. 5/10
Total: 67/95. Eh.

SOMA:
Name –
Finsparce
Desc –
Ok, it looks like a Dunsparce BUT WAIT! Its wings are longer and its eyes are open, they are a sexy blue color, green in the winter ;), and it grew some legs and hands cuz that’s how kool it is, and the color is now yellow and [Explicit content removed]
Move Set -
Flail: 100%; 15PP; --Damage; Inflicts more damage when the user's HP is down.
Iron Tail: 75%; 15PP; 100 Damage; Attacks with a rock-hard tail. May lower DEFENSE.
Attract: 100%; 10PP; --Damage; Finsparce is so hot, it can attract BOTH genders!!!
Yawn: 100%; 10PP; --Damage; Lulls the foe into yawning, then sleeping next turn.
Explanation –
Well first off Dunsparce is a BASIC, without any baby or evos, so it NEEDS an evo, second of all it is UGLY, and in this evo it becomes HOT, kinda like Ramaroid into Octillery ;). Plus if this thing is out in the TCG, maybe its pokebody would be, search for as many evolutionary cards as you want and put them onto your bench.

Name - Kinda obvious. 8/10
Description - You didn't really describe what's going on with the arms and legs. What are they like? Where on its body are they? Also, that last part is unacceptable. I don't know how many times you need to be reminded, LITTLE KIDS ARE ON THIS MESSAGE BOARD. You can't talk like you would with friends. I SHOULD minus your entire score for that, but I'm feeling generous. 15/35
Move Set - -___- It can attract both genders? I don't think so. 37/40
Explanation - It does not NEED an evo. You failed to provide any logical reason, but you did provide an example of what it is like - though, I don't agree with you on Octillery's hotness. 8/10
Total: 68/95. How in the heck did you manage to do better then someone?

I am EXTREMELY dissapointed. Only 4 entries. Now, I'm going to give you all the benefit of the doubt and guess that maybe some of you sent entries to MM instead of me, so I won't kick anyone off for the double challenge thing - this time. If you don't submit an entry for the next challenge and youre not one of the four people in this post, you will be kicked off.

Alright, Team Thief, time to vote. You've got till wednesday at...I forgot...let's say...noon. These will be PMed to ME, not MM.

Yay I didn't fail =)
For metal rush Trydon could only use Embrace on his next turn. And its not as cheap as you think as embrace can only be used 5 times.

A Rinosoris, isn't that almost a modern day dinosaur?

OMG I was the only entry this sucks so bad =/ Please drop all of my team Ill win this on my own. Team Pablo FTW

Effing Aitch.

I had my entry for this typed up and everything. And then a lightning storm came through the area when I finished it up. Knocked out the power and I lost the WHOLE DOCUMENT...

Gah, I hate my life sometimes...
