Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Texas State Championship ~ March 19, 2011

This may be a silly question but are people allowed to just come and watch? I haven't played the TCG in quite a few years (still play the video games) but thinking about getting back into it so would be fun to be able to watch.

Yes, spectators are allowed to watch the matches, but can not interact w/the players during the match.
Once the matched is completed, they can talk away from the table.

That's where, "they can talk away from the table" covers that part...

And I'm implying that they watch from a distance safe from the match.

Spectators should not be allowed in the playing area.

Didn't mean I wanted to be in the playing area sorry if it came across that way :p

Probably wouldn't do much "talk away from the table" since I don't know anyone and have no idea about the new cards/gameplay :) that is why is why I wish to observe :p

You'll find PLENTY of people to talk to there, trust me. In this season, I've met at least a dozen or so players, and have no trouble talking to people.

You should come!

Gettin closer...we need to get some real smack talk going!

Edit:
I assume the prize support is the same for every States tourny, but I know there was some "special" stuff last year...any word on Prizes this year?

On a bit of a side note: anyone in Texas plan on attending other State tournies? We are probably going to NM.

Just curious, what did everyone do for parking last year? I valeted and that was just a pain in the butt, but seemed like the most reasonable thing at the time. The real pain was at lunch, we had to pay to get out then pay to get in again...ugh.

Also, what did everyone do for lunch? We snuck off to McD's, didn't really like what was at the hotel. Anything else good close by?

Oh yeah, forgot to smack talk:

Watch out, West Texas will be WELL represented for the first time ever. Well enough, infact, that I think the trophy might be residing in a forgotten realm of Texas for a year...worry not, we'll take pictures of the trophy on top of a Pumpjack and send it for Wolfpack to see...ya'll can keep it in ya'lls wallet and act like ya'll are still the champs!

As for parking, there was a huge open parking area to the far right of the hotel. They were charging 5.00 for the entire day, come and go as you wish. It was basically like walking a city block or two but well worth the price.

Food, a lot of people ordered pizza. Go to the concierge desk (main lobby) and ask for delivery menus. Keep in mind that you'll need to hang out near the front when ordering delivery because the delivery driver normally won't go to the rooms or play the "I'll meet you somewhere in the hotel" game.

Expect a decent amount of Houston area players to represent, as always.

See y'all soon.
