I WANT STATES IN HOUSTON!!!

So what if we get Regionals? As the 4th largest city in the U.S we deserve BOTH!!!!
I can think of 100 reasons I won't bother posting, but I WANT STATES IN HOUSTON =(
We need it!
WE DESERVE IT!!!!

I want it!!
I want it!!
I want it !!

=/

lol too easy.

1.) butlerforhire , take this thread less seriously, beleive it or not, people ARE allowed to dream and wish for states to be in their home town....
2.)Don't call people selfish and greedy. That is rude.
3.) You think THESE people want State held in their home town? Go read Whicker's Bickers plz.
4.) Please do not get mad at me for this but...

HOUSTON DESERVES NATIONALS TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, dreaming of something unrealistic and selfish-- that is the right word and I won't water it down-- is so productive, and so worthy of being posted in a thread that should actually be devoted to the dispensing and discussion of useful information pertaining to the actual State championship. This is not a "make a wish" thread.

What do you think selfish means? It is an act or desire geared toward the benefit of oneself over others. Are the people posting about how much they sincerely wish the State championship was held in their hometown thinking about other people when they make their public wishes? No.

Whicker didn't want any event held in his hometown. He wanted a more centralized location. I'm not trying to revive the arguments but it should be made clear that there is a distinction, and a huge one at that.

No city or state "deserves" the National championship, first of all, and even if one or the other did, why is Houston,Texas at the top of the list? Why would a national event be held in the farthest extreme of the country? That's not even remotely practical or utilitarian.

The problem with El Paso/Ft. Stockton is that there are barely any players around there (I think) and almost no one would come.

Also to butlerforhire:

The problem is that we can't post that much useful info on States because NO ONE KNOWS WHERE THE HECK IT IS. So what are we supposed to post besides where we want it? Everyone can want what they want, and it's okay for them to give their opinion, no matter how "selfish" it may be. Plus, they're not really being selfish because half of them are joking.

My Point: Get a sense of humor and don't be so uptight.

And just to annoy you:

STATES IN HOUSTON!

So this is your logic: we can't have a useful discussion in this thread because we lack information, so therefore we should just post our fantasy location for the event, which will do nothing for anybody, not even the people making their public wishes? BRILLIANT!

Everyone posting "HAVE THE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP IN TOWN A!!!!" is just clogging this thread down and expanding its pages needlessly so that people have to scroll and wade through irrelevant, unhelpful posts just to find anything of substance. Maybe there's not much of substance now, but there will be eventually, and it's pretty lame having to sift through 3 pages of nonsense just to get to the goods.

Don't assess my sense of humor or my personality. This thread isn't funny anyway; there is no humor to miss.

El Paso had a State Championship held there once before a few years back. One catch to it. So now too quiz you. Remember why?

Wasn't it actually the New Mexico State Championships in El Paso, Texas?

Yo butlerforhire, you need to keep in mind that probably 90% of the posters on here are 13 & under. Don't expect a good debate on location, lol.

Don't worry, when Birch is ready to announce States, he'll start his own thread.

What's funny is that you hate this thread but you keep coming back, it draws you in, like a guilty pleasure, you can't stand it.

Look at the bright side, y'all have a date, that's the most important information.

Have a coke and smile, sit back and reminisce about your WIN at Bryan / College Station.

ill wait patiently for the states announcement but if its anywhere other than Dallas i wont be attending... getting married this year and well i didnt know marriage was so bloody expensive

Since we all can't agree if it should be held in Houston, Dallas, El Paso, Lubbock or San Antonio, I propose there's only one solution:

Give everyone a transporter so they can magically beam to Dallas for States :p

(In all seriousness, it really doesn't matter where it's held at this point when you consider there's going to be people who are going to need to travel 100, 200, 300 miles to the site from their location)

Well,Dallas would be the best place for good all around attendance.
Mr. Cook is correct, hats off to him! :thumb:
