That's Obscene.

Geez, in one day, a thread gains 6 pages...

I'm going to clear things up, as a friend of Jake's, who sees him regularly at league and tournaments(well, okay, saw.)

He is a bit hyper, but I don't think he has a disease like ADD.

Parents/Adults-You want to know why other teenagers(including myself) are backing him up? Because we actually know him. =O Other then me, there is no one else that knows him that well. Scott rarely sees him, and I hate that he had to step in. Others just chat with him online.

I want to ask two other things...

1) Can we prove he did it? For all we know, his account could've been hacked.

2) WPM, and any others, can you either post here or PM me people that go to Jake's league that you talked too?

Also people who have AIM get sent porn links all the time, usually by someone with a screename of something like Megan23432.

I reiterate my position that I am going to stay neutral and out of this subject...

This was a decision made by POP and between Jake, the people that he AIMd, and POP.

I will reiterate the position of BigPoppaBeatdown...

I hope that this situation does not reflect poorly on the players in St. Louis...we are a haven for good players who play and act the right way...the actions of a few bad apples (this is the 2nd player in 60 days we have had banned) should not reflect on our area as a whole.

I know what has been accused, and will state that if Jake had sent that link to me, as an adult, or to any of my kids, then he would not have been allowed at any of my leagues or premiere events, notwithstanding any decision by POP, and I would take the appropriate heat for that.

As I, and my kids, were not victimized by any actions, I felt that this was my battle to stay out of, and I did.

I was given no "official" notification by POP, except to see Jake's name on the suspended player's list.

This is definitely a situation that pushed the envelope in many different ways...and hope will serve as a lesson for many out there.

POP takes its name, its reputation, and its responibilities to youth very, very seriously. That is why the controlling document is not a set of floor rules, but a "Spirit of the Game".

I am captivated by the many stances taken on this thread, and would like to say, in my opinion, that although Jake has a rough, competitive exterior...he is not a totally bad person. He did help people with decks, and kept our Gathering Ground league highly competitive.

He enjoyed the competitive nature of the game...and hope he comes back to it when his time is served.

Jake, if you are out there reading, I would suggest that you contact POP in writing to see what steps can be taken to lower your "sentence" if you care to do so. Be sincere and honest in your communications with them, and it should be effective. Try to fool them, and it will be transparent and get you nowhere.

Too Harsh? Too Soft? That is POP's decision.

Not my place to argue either way.

Interesting and important it may be, but it's still not for any 3rd party to disclose. Jake can disclose it himself if he so desires.
This is winding down.
Closing soon.

Jake can't disclose it, because POP didn't tell him whether his ban was permanent. The letter said "until further notice". It's nice to hear that POP will tell TOs that have nothing to do with the matter that the ban is impermanent, but won't tell the person being banned.

POP has YET to contact Jake in any way, shape, or form, to ask him his opinions or to talk to him at all, despite his e-mailing and sending them a letter.

WPM is full of crap. He talked to maybe a few people, and Jake certainly didn't admit to doing half the stuff people say he did.

The kid who got the link had gotten it previously, and was tricked previously, and goes on Neo, but no one likes to mention those little details.

The damage is done, Jake will try to contact Schwimmer and see what's up. Let's just hope this all works out in everyone's best interests.
