That's the biggest problem with deck names IMO. Everyone (including your opponent) knows what's in there, thus no element of surprise. Magsol is pretty obvious as you said, but "Burn Away" or even "Baleful Flame" isn't as obvious, sounds more dramatic and just plain shows more creativity.
Most people have the problem of putting more creativity in deck naming than in deck construction.
Wow, if everybody likes to name they're super-duper deck something stupidly long and un-catchy, be my guest.
But look at old names and how nice they sound,
ZRE
Dragtrode
Metanite
LBS
Mercury
Bandoom
MSN
Destiny
Ambush
Please, keep it simple. Or atleast one word/abbreviation.
the best way to name decks is this, and this has never failed me.
magmortar/typhlosion/delcatty = magmortar
magmortar/absol = magmortar
gallade/gardy/absol = gallade/absol
gallade/gardy/other = gallade
gardy/gallade/whatever = gallade
blissey/anything = blissey
honchkrow/absol = honchkrow
empoleon/anything = empoleon
ape/anything = ape
banette/anything = banette
electivire/whatever = electivire
anything else = jank
names like "speedban" and "g and g" and like EVERY OTHER NAME OF A DECK are ridiculous. there's no need for secrets at a tournament and if someone told me they were playing "Baleful Flame" i'd tell them to go ahead and sign the slip because there's no way i'm losing to THAT.
I'd bet that 80% of Pokemon players who name a deck Baleful Flame write fan fiction or cosplay or something
Just saying.
