You are using a very poor example. DukeFireBird admitted that he did not cancel anything and lost no money. The fact that he paniced about the possibility of losing money on his tickets was a bit of an over-reaction on his part, but I'm sure he was uncomfortable for a day. Not real lasting damage though. The fact that you can't find anything better than that as an example to prove things "did get out of hand" is pretty good evidence that they didn't. It was one of Pop's best efforts. Enjoy it for what it was, or just let it pass if you hate April Fools jokes.

Wasn't talking about DukeFireBird. It gets out of hand when someone trys to fake a PUI press release and pull it off as official news... If you think about it, if anyone else had done that they would be in serious trouble.
 
releasing a press release that tries to look exactly like an official PUI press release is pretty borderline. if someone from lafonte would have done it, they would have been banned instantly

More to the point, my "I give up" thread was left open.

But in any case, yes, admins pulling fake news release pranks is nothing new for April Fool's Day. The only reason anyone gets angry is that they're angry with themselves for looking like an idiot by believing it.

Because just saying that without any evidence is like me saying that if you mix red and blue together, you get green, because I haven't seen any evidence to the contrary.

no, i understand it was april fool's day. i thought the press releases were great. i was just saying that if one of lafonte did it, it might have been treated differently :p
