Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Tournament Management System User's Guide

I only do the tiebreaker points at the point of need - end of the event.

Given that there are no more draws... the need for players to have them in between rounds is now gone.

I will look forward to having working software so that I will be able to print standings between rounds - that is the one thing I miss.

That's right, they did release 1.16 *he he*

Signed - one who has downloaded 1.16 but still uses 1.15 without problems...

HEY, who put that signature down there!?!?!?!?

Can we still use 1.15??

I'm really tired of print screen, paste to Paint, Cut and Copy to Word, Print- everytime I need to print the next round pairings. UGH!

Why, did 1.16 also forget how to print the pairings???!!!

There is some weird, and aggravating, glitch when you use TMS 1.16 and Windows XP. Not sure which program is at fault but basically what happens is you can use the "print" button once but when you go to print again it goes into your print que but won't print. You can't remove it from the que either and the only way to fix it is to reboot the computer, which then causes the TMS program to crash (even if you saved) so that you can't reopen the file.
AARGGG!!!!
It has happened to me and to others that use Windows XP, but not to those who don't so there must be an incompatibility problem.
So...everytime I have to print pairings I "print screen", go to Paint and paste, copy the area I need, and then paste it to a Word document. Mind you, TMS doesn't always show all of the tables on one screen so I usually have to do this twice for each round. Here in So. Cal we are usually running tournaments of upwards of 70 people and 5 or 6 rounds of swiss.
Fun Fun Fun!
If I had access to a laptop without XP trust me, I would use it!

Thanks for the details! I have a tablet with XP Tablet edition, and haven't yet worked with 1.16 - sounds like time to do a little 'playing'...

'Snore is still bringing over content from the old Compendium site. That's why it's still up.
Once we get everything over, we'll expand it to have a whole TO resource section.

If you find a way around it PLEASE let me know!!! I have one more CC coming up and then the two Deoxys Prereleases. I can work a computer but can't fix glitches.
Thanks!

You should be able to use paint an print it out that way if you are just wanting pairing sheet.

We haven't run into any issues like that with 1.16 when printing pairings, but we're not printing pairings from inside 1.16, we're using PrintKey and Word as we've outlined in the guide.

TMS uses the DCI Reporter-style Pairings by Player method:

Player Table Number Player

Players end up being printed twice and some can't wrap their heads around it. Our player bases didn't like that method, so we stuck with printing out the pairings as outlined in the guide.

Usually, the process is:

1. Creat new round pairings.
2. Press Print Screen key
3. Paste into Paint
4. Select just the pairing info (from screen 1 for first 17 pairs)
5. Paste into Word document
6. Scroll down to next 17 tables
7. Repeat steps 2 - 6 as required...

So, yeah, it will work straight from Paint if you have 34 players or less...

I didn't even get into what you have to do if there are drops :frown:

[edit] @ Steve - We love the PrintKey!!! Used it up 'til they got printing from TMS working...[/edit]

WeileMom, that happened to me at our CC as well. I just about went to doing the pairings manually. I finally got around it after about a half hour of fiddling, (the tournament went on in the meantime) and I got the program up to speed on the pairings, and finished off with the program. I wasn't impressed. But I guess you learn to expect the unexpected. I'm looking forward to 2.0!

Brain need to ask the Fl. crew (they showed me) as I do not remember how but I did it with 90 players at the Fire Red prerelease at Worlds. Just haven't had the need since so I forgot happen with Grey Hair!!

It CAN be done...its just slow and a pain in the neck. Plus, I can't seem to make them very large so the players have to get very close to see the pairings.
This past CC I split the players into age groups and ended up not even printing the 10 and under pairings. It was just easier given there were only 10 players. We usually have 40-60 players at tournaments so as I said its just a pain in the neck!

Stretch the graphic after pasting into Word to enlarge the text! Pull it on the bottom right corner...
