Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Toxicroak AoA

(It's spelled argument, fail)

Sorry, just had to do that after the "aweful" thing :p

Anyways, I'm just surprised to see a Kingdra player criticizing Kingdra's speed... kudos.

Alright, I got you and you got me :thumb: lollll

I'm just saying spiritomb kills a lot of stage 2 decks early on (assuming they start with it). But hey, I was being over-bearing and I take it back. A deck is only a deck ;) lol

Lay off General, guys. It's an opinion. Kingdra v Croak hasn't even been tested yet.

I like it. Hey look, I just had another idea. And if anyone flames me for having an opinion, they've got problems.

Considering that Croak plays on poison...

Couldn't you forego everything but 4-4 Croak and 3-3-(1) Gliscor LA (Pester)? As well as Claydol and whatnot other jazz. That could work.
As if anyone runs double full heal. If you kill me, you get hit by the 'scor. If you send up something weak I can Corner then hit for 70 after poison - that's 100, which is pretty good. I can set you up with poison then hit you with Pester. Heck, I can Corner you, 'scor Lv.X and Pester for 120 damage after poison. AND you are paralyzed. It could work, you never know.
Maybe next season's Scizor.

I think everyone's looking at this card the wrong way... basing a deck around this as opposed to running a 1-1 or a 2-2 line as a tech for a Luxray Counter. In a deck running Rainbows/Multis (Or for some reason Psychic/Fightings anyways) that have problems with Luxray, this would be a great fit.

I do wish it had a better single energy attack, since this is so outclassed in terms of energy cost by Promo Toxicroak SP or Relicanth SV. BOTH are very situational, but also so much faster. Would it really be too much to ask for Toxicroak's attack to be a single energy? Yeah, Croagunk, BTS, Toxicroak, Multi would be a crazy donk... but we see so much of this in the format already. Plus it's only 60 damage, and every deck usually runs Unown G.

But think of it this way... Fabien G ran a Promo Toxicroak SP in his World's Gyarados list as a Luxray counter. He ran no Energy Gains, so the only way to attack with it would be to manually attach to it twice. Now he has a OHKO on Luxray, but only AFTER Luxray KO'd him. This card isn't as conditional, it would STILL take two turns of attachment to get this ready. But now you have a Luxray counter even if you weren't just KO'd. Maybe not the best fit in a Gyarados deck, but the point remains the same... people DO invest 2 energies to KO Luxray. Pretty sad when a 2 energy attack is considered expensive nowadays @_@

But I wouldn't discourage anyone trying a deck based around this card... who knows it could work. The energy typing (Fighting, Psychic) have so many techs to offer, including Mewtwo and Relicanth. You can also run Miasma Valley with a pre-AR Croagunk and SV Baltoy to get more damage out of the deck.

BRING BACK DRE!!!! PLEEEEEASE!!!!!
T1 Toxi - oh yeah.

Only problem is that our format is not ready for DRE.

I'm pretty sure that a straight Tox line would end up just a fun deck.

I like the idea of it being a tech, though. The only reason I still like Toxicroak G better is because I have been helped by Leap Away SOOO many times.

My thoughts have drawn the conclusion that Toxicroak AoA is interesting for sure, but 10 HP away from being really cool. Expert Belt can help, but it is then too easily KOed by other Pokemon also with Expert Belt. Odd how that will likely be the case in a lot of games I think....

I may put together a Poison Control deck with Tox and Weezing perhaps. I've wanted to do that for the longest time (use Weezing).... Find a way to get out Tox quick with Trainers and then also get a couple of Weezings out. That could be nasty! (Remember, before the criticism begins, FUN deck I'm talking about here!)

Why not >_> Everything already attacks on 1 energy or is basic anyways... I actually think it'd be more balanced than Double Colorless Energy 'cuz of the -10 damage reduction... but with DCE out there's no way DRE will come back, way to many double energies there =/

Couldn't Toxi be teched in a Psychic deck running like 2/3 Fighting? It could punch through any psy resist and can work with Relicanth in the deck as well. Could mean a solid way of damaging...for something like Gengar?
Gengar/Toxicroak? Its just a random thought but I kinda like the idea here.
