Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

TRUK Engine

So let's post decks we have been working on for WEEKS so that people, who have looked at a deck for maybe a minute or so, can play it. =/ Not only does this defeat the purpose of actual testing, you would be ASKING for mirror matches EVERYWHERE. While this game does involve some skill, a lot of it has to do with luck. Mirror matches prove this well enough. In addition, you basically give away your strategy and what you will be playing. Imagine the US Army's attack on Doomsday, and, since they want to be fair, give their plans to the Axis powers. Or how about a company just gives away their product to other companies BEFORE they market it? Yup, those sound like TERRIFIC plans. =/

wow, GREAT comparisons there dood! Losing at a CARD GAME is SERIOUS BUSINESS!

I don't want to be spoon fed deck lists. Again, you're completely missing the point I'm trying to make.

The secrecy crap is so over the top now that tournament reports have been LOCKED because the information in them is so utterly meaningless.

Besides, there is one ENORMOUS key flaw in your OMG ITS TOO LUCK BASED TO ALLOW THAT! argument... it's still the same people at the top all the time. Always.

And no offense, as it probably means something in the real world, but on Pokegym, we like pokemon. No one here cares about the US air force or kickboxing or whatever. Try kickboxing Infernape lvl. X... it doesn't work.

we're showingwe have lives.

but yeah, people do go over the top with sd's. most of the time it isn't really an sd, but just a combination that no one else has really played properly. sd's are ott

but this thread is about why TRUK is spelled without a C.

Tag,
I don't know anyone who can supply me with the newest list. Nobody you'd know about really helps me with my decks. I go to tournaments, and I suck it up. Heck, in the last two years, I've made top cut in a sanctioned tournament exactly three times (and I always got shut out in the first round of TC). I've literally never won a ranked tourney, nor have I made any archetype you might have heard of.

I'm happy. I have fun. You should, too.

You are officially awesome

The threads question has been answered, thus this thread has no purpose
Thus, all further posts are spam
Shame on all of you :nonono:

I would like to thank HB for making people @ my league sound like noobs with "o im running THE TRUK OR ICE TRUCK OR BIRD TRUK" when they have no idea(and i dont either, but i dont go around saying TRUK in every sentence) what is in the TRUK engine

the moment U and S came into it, i lost interest. i'm a 2nd dan black in taekwon-do, and 1st dan black belt in kickboxing, and 2 times british kickboxing champion. but i have no life. about this crain family thing; why can't you decide whats good for yourself?

the US air force is 1,000+ times more impresive than taekwon-do and kick boxing (which are both pretty cool)

i too would like to know about the TRUK what-not, me and a couple people at my league have been wondering what it is.

This thread has changed completely. For the record, I guess I'm a man of science but if someone offers up no proof that this TRUK engine exists then I'm just going to have to say it dosn't. It's a big joke created by Toysruskid. There is no TRUK engine.... It's that simple. There's really no other engines available and if there are then they're slight variations of what we have.

If I could I get a word in edgewise:

Listen guys. I'm not asking you to post your decklists. But DO consider this-not everyone lives ina big community of players.

I know one local player here tshat I can play with regularly. Before I found the gym I had no idea what to play, becuase I never knew the archetypes to counter. It was awful.

Secrecy like this is unfair to the isolated players. They don;t have anyone to consider decks with, no one to help them. They have to get what they can, almost on a basis of survival.

People also seem to forget this is a kids game. I saw a kid cry today when he lost due to an apparently unfair ruling and his vicious opponent.

Look all around in the game and you seem dozens of vicious players who take this game far too seriously, and will claw and scratch and use anyn underhanded trick they need to get what they want and win. Pokemon needs to improve as a community, and the first step is pulling the stick out of your bum and contributing to the community.

agreed. I dont think there's much trainer choice right now. All we have is TVR, bill's main, steven's castaway, scott, mentors, celio's, pokenav...

Oh is that so?
I really don't know if TRUK is an engine, but I do know we play a trainer engine/combination which was played by nobody in our first BR weekend.

I am starting to think this TRUK is made out of the same idea, but I can be wrong.
For us it's like playing unlimited in modified and it's fun.

I don't even have a league or anyone to play with IRL. I deal with it. Maybe if I was getting something out of "helping the community" by loaning people who aren't as talented a deckbuilder as me free information. Think about that.

The funny thing is that there isn't that many good cards to choose from. So all the TRUK engine could be would the same thing everyone plays with like 5 or so different cards in them.

I guarantee you the TRUK engine isn't anything special. There's no way to happen upon a special trainer engine in this game and it not be obvious to everyone else (holon engine for example).

Oh, you run 4 Great Ball, 4 Fast Ball, 4 Celio, 4 Night Maintenance? Yeah, you and every other Kricktune/Blissey player. Oops.

I beg to differ, there can be plenty of combo\'s that the average player wouldnt see as useful

For example, in a deck me and PSYCO worked on (Project Evo), we use pokedex, quickballs, energy search (yes, energy search), and stevens advice to dump cards from my hand, cycle through my deck, and quickly draw more to set up quickly

On another deck, this engine probably wouldnt work as well, due to the vast difference between the styles of play they use

The TRUK engine may be a specific type of trainer setup designed specifically for the deck it works in, or it may be a combanation of trainers that have been tested and work perfectly in combanation with one another.

The TRUK engine may be a specific type of trainer setup designed specifically for the deck it works in, or it may be a combanation of trainers that have been tested and work perfectly in combanation with one another.

Objectively, I'd have to go with the latter, given the somewhat large number of TRUK decks.

Also, even though many different people come up with the same combo for the same deck independantly at different times, one could still set the combo to an exclusivity with one or two people due to the way they used said combo.

An example would be if multiple people, including Ness, came up with Mewtric independantly (note that I have no information which supports or deflates this claim; it is merely a hypothetical example). A majority of people, myself included, would probably (one can never be certain) attribute the concept of Mewtric to Ness, given how much better he perfomed with the core concept than other players who also used said Mewtric concept. So, basically, one person might use 3A, 4B and 2C, while another person may use 1A, 4B and 4C. If the second perons performs better with the concept and is generally better known to have come up with the concept, he or she will receive most of the credit, even if A, B and C are merely such cards as Wager, TVR and Steven's (a poor example, but an example nonetheless.

Therefore, regardless of the siimplicity of a combo, one would be aligned as the main supporter or creater of said combo if one is recognized as such. So, that may be the reason the combo is called TRUK; even though the combo is obvious, it is TRUK's specific quantification or variation of the combo's various elements which has reached the highest level of recognition. (Please note that I may be wrong; it's jsut another random theory).

^Those last paragraphs were in direct response to Prime's most recent post, and upon reflection, is more of an elaboration of his first sentence than an individual thought of my own. Sorry for the wasted time. lol.

Perhaps the timed usage of the various elements of a combo is part of the combo itself...?
