Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Tyraniboah

It's Tyraniboah, not boar, lol.
It's meant to lock your opponent kind of like a Boah locks their prey if that makes sense.
It was also the video game reference for those who play :p.

An interesting thing you might want to test out for this deck...

4 Seeker
4 Junk Arm
1-2 VS Seeker
1-2 Mesprit

You Seeker, then VS Seeker, then Junk Arm the VS Seeker all day long. Locks up everything. Something I've been thinking about for other decks than this one...

I'm familiar with the strategy, but what would you be taking out to include it?
It's a good idea nevertheless.

Ok, here's my main problem.

A handful of prereleases only just happened. The set is not even officially released. If you are going to assume BW rules, and suggest some BW cards, shouldnt you wait until it's really out? What if there's a rotation, or a ban to come out of this? You never know.

If you're referring to Zoroark, then the set actually has been officially released in some areas, and I own a copy of the card.
The card is only a tech, so I'm not suggesting that you have to put it in the deck, it's just a thought that you, or anyone else may want to consider

Also if there is a mid-season rotation, in which there won't be, it's not going to occur at the same time the set is "officially released" or they would have announced it by now.

The set isn't officially released until 25 April.

Prereleases are before the official release.

Zoroark looks like a nice tech for a lot of decks. Shame about the Fighting Weakness though.

Thanks for the article! My little brother wants to get back into Pokemon and wanted me to build him a Tyranitar deck.

As for Tyraniboah, what is the h on the end for?

It's a 4-3-3 line. Wile we are talking about the T-tar line, I would use a 4-4-4 line or 3-3-3 line.

great T-tar deck i have one myself but I have a 2-1 darkrai set up.

I use Darkrai lv.X because it makes all dark energys to become special dark energys, or atleast have the same effect as them.

anyways great deck and i think it will do very well... :)

It is rotated out, I'm not sure why he mentioned it unless he plays Unlimited.

Honestly, the bench become too clumped for it anyway as you'd find out if you play the deck, and you're doing enough damage per turn, unless it's mirror.

Yeah, this deck definitley needs some Donphan/Machamp counters. Machamp isn't so much of a big deal... but Donphan... pwns... this deck... 0_o
That's my only complaint so far ^_~*
Maybe add some pokemon that have resis against fighting? Ionno, like, some flying pokemon? Just an idea. (Not that there is room in the deck for flying pokemon... but still...)

I tryed this deck out at the Battle Road tournament... bad idea. First I got pwned by fighting, then I beat a kid who didn't know what he was doing, then I lost again to a Vilegar deck. This deck needs to be modified a little to stand a chance against anything.
What I suggest (It's too late becuz of rotation coming, but I still feel this needs to be said), is getting rid of all trainers and replacing them with supporters / other cards; if you do this, then it comes to be a perfect counter against vilegar and lostgar, two popular decks (vilegar was popular anyways..). Now the deck is a perfect counter against gengar decks.

P.S. The deck is fine w trainers now of course becuz of vilegar being rotated out, but before battle roads, this deck needed to have some modifications. *Sadface*

Has anyone looked at Tyranitar post-worlds? Specifically, how Catcher and Max Potion might make this card unstoppable?

I'm thinking the deck would focus mostly on Dark Howl, while trapping active anything with a high retreat. Just do 20 to everything repeatedly.

If Ttar ever takes a lot of damage, use Max Potion. (For those of you who don't know that card, you discard all energy from your active and remove all damage counters). That doesn't hurt at all if Tyranitar needs only 1 energy to attack.

You could even throw in a few Junk Arms to grab those Catchers and Max Potions back.

It'll be hard for your opponent to win if they can't knock out a single Pokemon!

(Yeah, I know it has weaknesses, and probably loses right away to anything that does 160 damage. It's just an idea.)
