Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

UK Battle Road Tournaments

err better make that BRs are a source of points as long as at least one other player turns up in your age group.

and you beat them

Well my rating's at 1800, with three CCs unrecorded (two of which I won). The CC that has been recorded on my stats page gave me 50 points (adding and subtracting the + and -). It looks like a Battle road win might secure me Top 8 in European ratings. What do you have to be to get to Hawaii?

Alex, Nicholas is trying for 1950+ but it will need decent turnout at the two remaining BRs that we can go too. A further 8 wins without loss should add between 35 and 40 points. But turnout at the High wycombe and Guildford tournaments has been poor in seniors this year. 1950+ is looking like a long shot right now.

I do hope that you get your three CCs recorded properly. I presume the issue is with your doppleganger 'Alexander' . Which three tournaments are missing? there isn't much time remaining to get it fixed.

To get an invite to Hawaii you have to be one of the top six players in the Europe and Africa seniors who hasn't already got an invite through other means. Currently Linnea Vestre is occupying the last qualify spot for the seniors. I expect the required number of points to go up after the Italian and Netherlands nationals are completed.

Ah right. It's Crewe and the two Hull city championships. But for Crewe they were using old POP so I had to play in Masters... :frown:Oh that might not be resolvable.

old POP? what is that? The rating system just looks at your individual matches. Of course if the tournament wasn't operated to the floor rules then it is likely to be invalidated anyway. TOM 1.21 was required for City Championships.

You don't indicate if you know the POP ID for your alter ego Alexander. You realy need to know that number to get the accounts merged. You can always email ace_gaming again. The only other way to report a problem with the tournament is to report it directly to POP.

These were both magically sanctioned when I got home. TPFG were "confused" that I couldn't get hold of them before I went away. The shop has received the prize support.

And we're good to go. Depending on how you look at it - these are too late for ratings, so they're either pointless, or the only stress-free premier tournaments of the season :D I go with the latter. If you're considering both, the venue is in Blackpool town centre, so you could come for the weekend...

@above - Alex means old TOM, not old POP

EDIT:
The links to the POP site are in the titles.
These are sanctioned and the prize support has arrived.
AITO these will both carry ratings points, so come and grab 'em.
I'm not expecting a big turnout, and heartily welcome travelling players.
Ask for any extra info, directions etc. or see blackpoolpokemonleague.blogspot.com

Stef,

both are inside the cut off date of the 17th. That is when the NL nationals are taking place. So as long as you can get them onto the OP website quickly I would expect both to count.

How many seniors do you usually get?

Old TOM well it would have to be very old to put Alex in the masters.

Ian's right Stef, they're within the ranking dates! I email PUI and got the response that all BR tournament up to Dutch Nationals will be included. Would've loved to go, but I'd rather play my Nats ;) Maybe next year!

One TO actually made a suggestion of placing me in the wrong age category deliberately for "experience".

Alex, playing up was something that was allowed last season to gain experience. It was vaild then but not now. I hope that it wasn't this season that the suggestion was made.

Hmm, I'll let Ian report on today's Battle Road! Was fun =)

Hi, my BRs are already on the POP site and have been since the cut-off date we were given. The above post has links to the sanctioned events. Can they go on the first post please?

Now we know they are for ratings, its possible non-local players may want to come.

It is in Blackpool after all; where you can always find a hotel, get there by any means of transport and there are plenty of other activities to make your trip worthwhile. Hmm... sounds like the direct opposite of Woburn! *cough*

Who did win the Battle Road on sunday?

Roll Call for Guildford this Saturday????
As someone once sang.................... *ahem*..................... IIII'll, be there.....
Must decide what to play? Give Lati a final outing?!

Sunday? You mean High Wycombe (aka Maidenhead)...

Juniors (3 entrants) Christopher Fotheringham
Seniors (1 entrant NO!) Nicholas F by default :(
masters (4 entrants) Irwin

Should have been me LOL! -- time is called seconds after I attach an energy to the bench : I had the DRE in hand and could always KO Irwins active to take the prize lead and the tournament but that would require knowing how much time remained and I wasn't going to ask. Never mind all is not lost I can play cessation crystal and win on my next turn after a zap . Irwin has played three windstorms so unless his fourth is a topdeck or he can draw into it with adventurer I still win. He has about a third of his deck left so the odds are very much in my favour.

So he draws- plays adventurer  and the next card is the crucial windstorm. Grrr. Ah well, that's Pokemon for you.

Unlucky Ian! If you had won it would have been a Fotheringham clean sweep!
Congrats to Irwin, who, i think we are all agreed, is very attractive.

Ian: Are you going on saturday to Guildford?

Yes , and Nicholas too.

I'm hoping that Adam H will turn up as without him there is now very little chance for Nicholas. I think we need something miraculous to happen.

There is room in the car if anyone needs a lift from the Crawley area.

Some builds use Celebi ex or extra stadium/tauros. From my experience with metanite, delta control gets you enough windstorms to sit around until necessary. Vaporeon ex ruins that tactic seriously. Sorry to hear the news.

Nah, he had to burn through his windstorms to avoid all the damage that Cursed stone was doing and the interference that Cessation Crystal was causing. I was quite certain that he didn't have the last remaining Windstorm in his hand. But I wasn't so sure of Adventurer. The only way he could win was with time called at just the right moment and to luck into the remaining windstorm. *shrug* thankfully I'm not after a rating invite.

I've had lucky wins in the past so its all good in the end. An eighth Victory medal would have been nice though - two playsets > one playset LOL

that was a donk too Irwin as I'm sure you are aware....

However as we both had the same opponents it would have been decided on the head-to-head and you would have placed 2nd Mwahahaha.

Pesky adventurer, even more pesky last windstorm topdeck. And the most pesky of all Carl calling time when he did. LOL
