i appreciate this, however what are their accomplishments?
 
well since i have no idea who they are, yeah they might as well be. :|

Ness won Worlds twice (05/07), the original Tropical Mega Battle I think in 98 or 99, and the Fan Appreciation Tournament in 03. I think he's also competed in every World Championship possible.

Yamato won Worlds 04 and is particularly famous for the gauntlet he threw down that weekend, playing something like 50 games overnight and losing only twice in that span. Crazy good player.
 
Jason won 06/08*

Yamato won 04, T4ed 07 and has been a consistent player (this is the 2nd year in a row he has grinded in AND made top cut). Personally, I think he's overrated, but he is undoubtedly one of the best players the game has seen.
