Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

(Un)Official 2010 Worlds Championships Updates

Here are the number of players going into Round one:

Masters: 115
Seniors: 89
Juniors: 85

So that's seven rounds, Top 16 for all age groups. The players are getting seated and setting up.

We will be doing a featured match again this year on the main stage. Round 1 will feature Austrian SR National champion Samuel Z versus Finish SR National champion Karri M.

7 Rounds and top 16 SUCKS for masters.... so many 5-2's miss cut... too bad they didn't let 13 more from Grinders in...

Those numbers are GREAT for the Jrs and Srs, and horrible for Mas. 85 players means there is the possibility for some 3-loss players in the top cut. 116 is pretty much double-elimination for a T16. There should be around 1 Undefeated, 6-8 1-loss, and then Resistance for the Top Cut. Jr and Sr are both triple-elimination, and even then there's still a chance.

GO DAMIEN!!!

Huy Ha, Thomas Mifflin, and Rees H. all failed the VGC hack check.
Thomas and Kinneas got DQ'd - for having illegal stats
Huy Ha had an illegal Cresselia, but was able to replace it, and got a Warning.

wow I had a feeling someone was going to be DQ'd but I feel sorry for the parents if they had to pay their way to Hawai for worlds only to be DQ'd

I don't even know why people would cheat and enter a tournament. It just isn't any fun for anyone. One would have to know that they would be caught because you are playing in a tournament hosted by the creators of the game. I feel sorry for the people that Huy and Rees beat to become the national champion.

Anywho 1 and a half hours seem like a rather long lunch break to me. Sounds more like a siesta break.

They did not cheat themselves - They trusted another person to help them train their pokemon, and that person robbed them out of a championship.
The person who did it already fessed up to doing it. I am sure his reputation is now shot.

BTW - according to the live stream, they are having a lunch break now, for about 1 1/2 hours.
The TCG is finishing up round 2 and will begoing on lunch break until 1:30. The web team should be posting standings on the official site while we are gone.
