Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

(Un)Official 2010 Worlds Championships Updates

So, finally, Worlds 2010 has ended. Well, I must say, this year's worlds was certainly interesting. Luxchomp literally won the event in both seniors and masters as it seems, and that just comes to showing that Luxchomp is still BDIF. Jumpluff still seems like a good deck at this time too, and that just comes into showing since it won juniors.

Now for my congrats: I can't believe Jacob won it! Congratulations Jacob! You did an outstanding job this season, and you managed to give Canada a first place! Way to Go!:thumb:

It is also a surprise to see that for the first time, a girl wins worlds. Well, now that is very impressive. Great job Yuka! That was one impressive job!:thumb:

Well, so this year's worlds was definitely pretty good. I can't wait for next year's worlds!

I'M SOOOOOO PROUD OF JACOB L.!

I believe he's the first Canadian World Champion, and if I'm not mistaken first GRAND SLAM CHAMPION in one year as well!

First at SPT First at Regionals First at Nationals and First at Worlds.

I have to say, his performance this year is unmatchable. Great job Jacob, you've made everyone in Canada proud and I hope you can do it again next year!

Wrong Yuka is the Second Girl to Win Worlds

Yeah....well some count worlds as '04-up cuz that's when the WC decks started.
Also I was sad to see Chris F. not make top, i thought he'd at least top but lost his last three games :(

Some count worlds as 2010 only, 'cause that's the year that Play! Pokemon put hula Pikachu plushies in the swag bag. They would be wrong too.

Congrats Mindy on being Pokemon's first female World Champion.

Congratulations on all of this year's world Champs as well, both card and video games.

If it's the deck list you want; the deck remains unchange, deck sleeves and deck box, all intact since last played in Aug. 2002.
Special Thanks to Jeff and Levi C, Chris F, Stewart B, Terry K, and Pablo

Wow, I didn't know that there was a girl that won worlds before Yuka. You see, I didn't play in the early days of the Pokemon TCG, so that's I didn't know Mindy was a world champion. Well, good job to her.

Still, its a least good to see some girls do pretty well in the TCG, especially Yuka and Mindy!

YUDA MAN, YUDA! lol i watched that final game... soo good (pramawat misplayed i think - 99% sure on that).

Hey is it true that Erik Nance ran Steelix?

I did actually. Was totally set to run pretty deep this year, but faced the Infernape X tech in the top 32 (still nearly won the first game, but my Judge inadvertently gave him the game).

Oh, and a lot of people at Worlds can verify that it wasn't as dumb a play as it sounds, haha. I'll be posting a report shortly.

not a misplay, you gotta read the game state, as uxie x is literally the only card that can save him. why would I give him 6 new cards to look at so he just have more chances of drawing it. And don't say, well he drew it off the top, Because there is no way of knowing that outside of cheating and just flipping the top card of his deck while i looker him.

Nope, as an observer at the event, def NOT a misplay. The opp had nothing and had the definite potential to draw into something from a lookers, especially since his deck was thinning. Mike played it flawlessly. Top decks just happen--I'll leave it to the statisticians to figure out the probabilities.

Huy Ha, Thomas Mifflin, and Rees H. all failed the VGC hack check.
Thomas and Kinneas got DQ'd - for having illegal stats
Huy Ha had an illegal Cresselia, but was able to replace it, and got a Warning.

This isn't surprising. Huy was DQ'd from the Seattle regional last May for the same reason.

How embarassing for TPCi to be booking flights and paying for hotel rooms so cheaters can participate in their events.

Thomas was DQ'd from the San Francisco regional for re-entering the tournament after he had already been eliminated.

I know that the VGCs are in their infancy, but they're also at a crossroads. Honest players need TPCi to step up with a stronger anti-cheating policy.
