First off, I want to thank you all for reading this. I got the idea for this short tale from some pokemon episodes where we see pokies abused and abandoned (Charizard & Chimchar come to mind...), but we see ash scoop them up, give them TLC, and all is right in their world. What if the Pokemon got fed up, and fought back? That's where this tale tries to go, and I hope you like it. I have plans for adventures in the Veridian Forest, and Venomoth meeting a Bug Maniac, but that's for later. Your comments and/or complaints are appreciated (complaints will be ignored, BTW)!!! LOL
VENOMOTH STRIKES BACK!
It hovered over the prone body of it's former trainer, brimming with anger, and regret. Never had Venomoth used its' abilities on a human before, let alone its' master and trainer. The psychic burst it let loose was exceptionally powerful, but Venomoth had no choice, not if it wanted to live to see the next sunrise. besides, Jasper, his trainer, really had it coming.
All of this started eight weeks ago. Jasper was one of those spoiled rich kids, born with a gold spoon in his mouth, got everything he wanted, and therefore had no appreciation of anything. His parents, who were actually a bit afraid of him (Jasper had a real mean streak to him), so to get him out of the estate, they gave him an all expense paid, two week vacation to the safari zone. While there, he captured many pokemon by hitting them with rocks till they were knocked out, then he found they were easy pickings for the Safari Ball. That's how he got Venomoth.
Little did he know this was a very special venomoth. It was trained by a Pokemon Ranger, who taught it very effective attacks, and raised it from a very low level Venonat. When the Ranger retired, he gave the Venomoth to a preserve, which was bought out adn later developed into the Safari Zone. It was pure chance that Jasper caught him unawares, as years of docile and peaceful living in the zone must have dulled his awareness.
From that day on, Jasper found amusement in neglecting, abusing, and even torturing the docile natured bug. That raises the question; What made this Venomoth finally rebel?
It was a "training" battle Jasper forced him into, against a Charmeleon that Jasper bred to be especially viscious. While the Venomoth was clawed and burned, Jasper sat in an ornate chair, sipping at a soda, laughing.
Venomoth was nearly done for. It knew that if the Charmeleon knocked it out, it could be several days before Jasper decided to revive him, and then only for more punishment. Docile or not, it decided it was time to take action!
Charmeleon was preparing to use it's ember attack again, but Venomoth was faster, using Toxic. While the Charmeleon reeled from the poison coursing thru it, Venomoth hit it with a full frontal psychic energy assualt. Between the poison and the pyschic bolt, Charmeleons' eyes rolled back, and it tumbled to the floor in a heap with a thud.
Jasper, in shock and awe, let his soda slip thru his fingers, jaw agape. The bottle hit the floor and shattered. The shock wore off, and Jasper went into action. He picked up a jagged piece of soda bottle and ran at the tired Venomoth. Jasper swung wildly, but venomoth easily flew out of Jasper's reach.
Venomoth was tired. After his battle with the Charmeleon, it was getting hard for it to even stay aloft. It used Giga Drain on Jasper, and could feel the boys energy fill him.
Jasper teetered on his feet, holding his head. he couldn't see right. Everything was blurry, or double vision, it kept switching, and his head felt so light. "You....You can't do....this." Was all he could say.
venomoth did not let up. gathering all his recently acquired strength, he hit Jasper with a full power psychic blast, which sent Jasper flying across the room, to hit a wall, and slide on down, out cold, brining us back to the present....
That left only one thing for Venomoth to do;escape! High above it, it found a skylight in the vaulted ceiling. Flying higher and higher, it crashed thru, raining glass below. At last! Venomoth felt the coll and crisp night air, saw the gibbous moon and twinkling stars of the Kanto region night and for the first time in weeks felt truly alive!
Where would it go? What would it do for food? it hovered for a moment pondering these things, when it finally decided that none of that mattered. All that mattered is that it was free, so with quick, strong flaps of it's membraenous wings, it flew deep into the starry starry night.
