Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Werewolf Issue Resolution

^We handle that on a case by case basis, but the full version of the part I quoted has a section for legitimate things such as a death in the family. Exams are not a good excuse, as you know those are going to happen when you're signing up.

No, exams are something you know about 3 months in advance. That's no excuse. Neither are Pokemon Events. I'm talking stuff like emergencies, computer failure, power failure due to hurricane etc.

I disagree on the statement that Pokemon Events are "not a good excuse" for not being a legit reason of absence or warrenting an extension by 2 days to a game day/night phase time frame.
I will add more to this when I can.

You understand incorrectly. Absol and I mean players removing themselves from the game completely with the excuse of a Pokemon event. Even for an event like worlds, if you signed up for a werewolf slot, it is only fair to go VLA those days, not drop it on a whim at the last second.

I propose that AbsolTrainer should be banned from the next game for his posts during the game night. I quoted his post during the night in the example that was linked to in my ban.

AT was not in any way a mod of last game, and thus had no business posting like he did. I pointed that out.

Why should 3 people be allowed to appoint themselves to a "commission" that has the right to issue bans?

Am I the only one who thinks this whole thing is ridiculous?

@Diaz-

A community needs leadership of course. I do not think it to be ridiculous that some sort of movement in a commuity effort to establish a civilized system of keeping the games from becoming chaos or an eyesore here on this site. Experienced game mods who have a running history of successful games should be able to step up and take leadership among this game player base to at least try to unite the players and adhere to this sites rules and conduct. Since to my knowledge, there needs to be game mods who can navigate this site, work with us site mods, have experience in communications with site mods- are established long time members should have a higher level of leadership. It is alot of factors and reasons as to getting a solid foundation of structure, compliance, communication, and this player base of members needing to fall into line of having a leader base that will continue to hold to being open for improvement with in it self.

I had permission directly from Pikamaster to make that post.

In that case, to be fair, punishments need to be revised to....

This is indeed correct. Absoltrainer specifically obtained permission from Pikamaster to post, trying to stop all argumentation from occurring during the night, which was and is completely unprofessional.

ProHawk's amendment is a valid description.

As to leadership, Benzo is correct. Leadership in WW is needed for this community to adequately move into the future with a positive impact. We've seen what no leadership has caused (XVIII only the most recent example). For this specific incident Ikrit, Absol and I convened because it was a group of interested and invested parties in Gym Werewolf.

As for "ridiculous." At the moment, yes you are the only one who thinks that. Each of the involved participants has clearly seen their transgressions and accept the consequences for them. The rules that are stated in the OP of each of the games are there for a reason, and we are enforcing them. That is all.

Besides. What happens if you miss a game? The answer is nothing. Nothing happens because it is only a game. You are more than welcome to join the one after next, and I really look forward to butting logical heads with you then.

I will add this in: I take no favoratism to any member here on the 'gym. I am not the type of person to call up a carpenter to come make repairs on my vehicle. Selecting people to do a job is important, with heavy consideration.
Members with in a community nead leaders, and this WW community does fall under the site's leaders (owners and staff) to keep things running smooth and with out incident. I am also not the type of person who will go on a power trip, as that is unprofessional and conflictive with the main goals with in a functioning community.
No where is there a place that will allow negative factors accure with out some sort of consequence to keep order and contianed with in the bounds of the leaders who work hard to uphold order.

Instead of "fighting" a community, opt to become a part of the community with what you have to offer with the understanding that the leaders will listen.

The whole "Can't beat 'um, join 'um" line of thinking is flawed as per how I see it. Negotiations are the better solution while accepting that certain factors can or should not be changed. Balance is better over all, and all parties involved should work side by side, playing the roles according to the limits of what is reasonable and achievable.

I.... I have no clue what you are trying to say.

To each their own, but a democratic process for mod-led games like these usually leads to multiple competing games, chaos, and inactivity. I've found it best to have a defined command structure.

So, just a suggestion, the way we've been doing it on Serenes lately is we have three elected people who are in charge of checking games, keeping track of who's next to run a game, and I think theoretically would be in charge of dealing with issues, though usually any issues are limited to within the game and are dealt with by the game mod. We vote on it every 6 months. It might not be a bad idea to try a similar thing here?

Not really elected, but the three would be Absol, Ikrit, and SS7.

On 6P it's... Me, me, and me. Well, to be fair, it's actually a whole team of people, but one person has the final call. Various methods work for different sites, etc.

King: Anyone who wants to vote and has played in at least one mafia game/is invested in the mafia community can vote. As for who can run, that's up to the community. It could be official mods, it could be people who have hosted X number of game, etc. It could for sure work here but, as I said, it's just a suggestion.
