Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Werewolf XVIII: Dimensional Clash: Wolves/Outlaws Win!

Finally done with finals, and NO MORE ORGANIC CHEMISTRY OR CALCULUS EVER WOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Something I've wanted to bring up. Perhaps we aren't looking for a wolf anymore? It's obviously some anti town faction, but does it have to be a wolf we're after? If this is the situation, it might not be a misslynch and lose situation for us. I don't want to understate how important getting a good lynch, but it is a possibility I think we should be aware of while moving forward.

Shinori at the moment seems a decent target. His last post suggesting a non lynch sounded off to me. We would learn nothing, and be in the exact same situation the next game day.

Shinori, it's time for you to get talking. We need answers, and we need to make a good lynch.

Vote: Shinori

Don't anyone else vote, until we get answers. If he's not scum, we don't want scum to hammer him.

This post will kill me. It will also end the game, as it seems to be a 1/1/1/1 split. My apologies, town. This is all I can do.

Vote: Shinori

The sun was setting as the remainder of the town gathered around Shinori. Without even a chance to defend himself, Shinori was tossed over the edge of the tower. Upon inspection of his broken body on the ground, it was discovered that he was:

You are Smeargle, the painter Pokemon. Some kind of psychic power trapped you in this land, and apparently there are some people and Pokemon here who are up to no good. You'll do whatever you can to make them show their true colors - and maybe color a few other things while you're at it. This old castle is so drab, after all...

Versatile (Active):
Once during the night, you may choose one player who is dead. You will use that player's role for the night. Certain roles will be unusable and cause your role to fail. You may not use the same role on consecutive nights.

You are an Enforcer with The Bank, Schizo, Pikajewel, Innocent Shine, Moo2. You may communicate with each other through PM, IM, email, Skype, etc. at any time during the night phase.

Win Condition: Enforcers Win

DarthPika and Eclipse simultaneously turned to Pokemonfreak5, waiting for his surrender. But instead he raised his palms and spoke.

"My quarrel was not with you, only the Enforcers. My work is done, I am ready to leave."

And with that, he vanished, only a slip of paper to reveal who he was.

He was:

You are Mewtwo, the clone of the most adorable Pokemon alive. That Pokemon also happens to be the only creature alive that can irritate you. Right now, its current offense is to stuff peanut butter up your nose and make a crude balloon animal shaped in your likeness. So in retaliation, Mew must die. You'll go pester Celebi or Dialga to revive it later, but for now, rage consumes you and you will kill anyone and anything that gets in your way. You were slightly shaken when a strange power transported you to this strange world, but you quickly got over it. You recruited several of the creatures who were already here to help you find and exterminate Mew, so you'll use your powers and theirs, too.

Future Sight (Active/Passive): 1. Once during the night, you may choose one player and one word that has a minimum of six (6) letters. If that player says the chosen word during the next game day, that player will die.
2. You have a suit of armor that will save you from any one kill (excluding the lynch).

You are an Outlaw with (Benson, KirbyKing, Chanman, Jason, Diaz). You may communicate with each other through PM, IM, email, Skype, etc. at any time during the night phase.

Win Condition:
Outlaws win

Without a word, DarthPika approached the throne room, blasting the doors open with the force of his magic, Eclipse following. Summoning a crown, DarthPika crowned himself and sat on the throne, Eclipse wound her long body up one of the many pillars, letting loose a fierce roar.

The wolves had won.

End of Werewolf XVIII: Dimensional Clash

Wolves/Outlaws Win

DarthPika's role:

You are the Lady of the Lake, who gave the sword Excalibur to King Arthur, and seduced Merlin to steal his magical knowledge, later leaving him buried alive. Somehow you were transported to an unfamiliar land by magic similar to your own, and you suspect that you will be trapped here until whoever cast it is dead. You quickly gathered a number of allies, and are planning to do whatever is necessary to return to your home.

Seduction (Active/Active/Passive): 1. Once during the night, you may choose any two players who do not have the same alignment as you. During the next day, you will be informed that a random number of votes, from 1-3, will be taken from the first player and put on the second player (this will not appear in any vote count).
2. If you would be lynched, you may choose one player. If that player does not have the same alignment, there is a 20% chance that the lynch will be redirected to that player. If that player is one of Sandslash7, StrongRhino, Pokemonrocks777, Prohawk, Eclipse, there is a 100% chance the lynch will be redirected to that player. 3. You have a suit of armor, which will save you from any one kill (excluding the lynch).

You are a Werewolf with (Sandslash7, Azure Kite, Pokemonrocks777, Prohawk, Eclipse). You may communicate with each other through PM, IM, email, Skype, etc. at any time during the night phase. Each night, the Packmaster will PM me the name of ONE person. The person who's name they PM me will be killed during the night.

Win Condition: Wolves Win

Eclipse's role:

You are Crystal Onix, the one of a kind creature who resides in the Orange Islands. When word of your existence leaked out, trainers from around the world were cramming themselves into your cave, throwing balls and attacks without end. You saw your home get torn to pieces because of greed, which enraged you. Instead of lashing out at the Pokemon sent to weaken you, you attacked the trainers themselves, eating some of them and hitting others with a sweep of your tail. And then the trainers' Pokemon all turned to attack you at once. You thought you were done for, until a flash of light and a rushing wind transported you to a moat that surrounded a huge castle. Shortly afterward, someone rose from the same moat you were in and asked you to join their quest for control of the castle, promising you a home wherever you wanted should they succeed. The attacks you suffered have left your body weak, so you cannot attack, but you do have one natural defense left...

Inspiration (Passive):
Any player who targets you during the night will have to, during the next day, make every post in a haiku form (4 lines of 3 words). This effect will end after the next day ends.

More postgame stuff from me will come tomorrow, I request that nobody posts until Sandslash7 has had a chance to post.

I will be starting another thread for specific post-game reprecussional discussion. This thread here is still free to be used for any discussion of playstyle, balance, mechanics, thematics, and any other topic related to XVIII. Please talk away!

Honestly I'm completely surprised that the wolves won. When the game first started I realistically gave our faction a 15-25% chance at winning, just due to our sheer numbers. I thought the chances were so low that I effectively ignored the game after I died, and only a week ago logged back on to hear that we might win.

I have some issues with the balance, but I'll speak on that later.

Upon checking with SS7, he has told me that this post belongs here, so it goes here.

So, first things first, congrats to the wolf team/outlaws for winning. Even though I have sour grapes about how the Game itself played out, you still played well enough to win, and what I have to say is not meant to take away from what you've done, but merely to make sure some of the issues that happened here are not repeated.

Secondly, while I may not like some of you, and some of you may not like me, I will keep this civil, proper, and honest. I expect the same from everyone else. All parties are innocent until proven guilty. What I have to say below is my findings, but I am not a central authority, nor am I the gym WW police. Make your own judgments once you've heard all sides of the story.

I feel that some of these issues may be the mod being biased without realizing it. Who wouldn't do a small favor for somebody of their own kin?

That preface out of the way, here's the thing. I have a grave concern that this game was not run to fair and honest standards. There were several issues, and I'll note each of them here quickly:

1: Modkills and replacements were manipulated to spare the wolf faction
2: The mod discussed mod-related issues with a living player of the game
3: Town lynch was processed after the deadline had hit, should have been a no lynch
4: Time Extensions were granted entirely at the whim of one player's request
5: The moderator ignored his own rules when his brother broke them.

PMs from Pikamaster to JP and Cabd

1: Modkills and replacements were manipulated to spare the wolf faction
This is the first issue I have. Specifically, this is about Azure Kite replacing Strong Rhino. Mind you, in a 45 player game, we had TWELVE(!) modkills. Of those 12 modkills, listed in the OP of this thread, 4 are Enforcers, ZERO are wolves, 1 is an outlaw, 2 are indies, and 5 are town.

And from the rules on the first page:
4i) Leave of Absence
If you are going to be gone for an extended period of time (4+ days), PM me and we will talk about either letting it slide or getting a replacement. If you do not let me know and are consistently absent from play that is grounds for a modkill or instant replacement.

Strong Rhino was about to be modkilled, but a replacement was found in the nick of time. However, here's where things get unfair in my eyes.

Pikamaster's PM to JP said:
No, it doesn't just so happen that AK was available. I have been trying to find replacements,

DP reminded me that AK was available and he was asked if he would be a replacement and he agreed.

If AK is not active, he will be modkilled. I am not simply putting a player in a slot to keep the slot alive, whether it is town or wolf. I have asked players to ask their friends to sign up as replacements.

To put it simply, AK was "put in reserve" so that he could specifically replace SR.

If he had been around to replace Butter Nut Ninja, he would've replaced Butter Nut Ninja. If he had been around to replace Desufnoc, he would've replaced Desufnoc. I am showing no favoritism, I am simply putting players in as they are available to replace.

AzureKite was recruited by a member of the scum team, Darthpika (Pikamaster's sibling) and held specifically in reserve for a player form said brother's team. This means that right here we have a rigging of metagame mechanics to favor the scum team.

Pikamaster said:
Just in case the order of events isn't clear.

1. A replacement for HOM is found. Said replacement has not made a Gym account yet, but the slot has been filled.

2. DP asks AK if he would like to play. AK replaces StrongRhino. AK confirms, so I post in the thread.

HOM's replacement has confirmed, and I will be posting in the thread soon. But I did not favor the wolves, or who you think are wolves, as StrongRhino was the next slot to be replaced.
However he also says:
Pikamaster said:
Here's where we hit out problem. I did not allow DP to find a replacement for StrongRhino. He found a replacement when SR needed one. Had HOM been next in the que, that replacement would have gone to HOM. I'm not allowing players to find replacements for certain players, he found one when HOM had a replacement and StrongRhino was next to be killed. Did he have motivation to find a replacement then? Maybe he did, if he is in a group with SR. But I can't do anything about when someone else finds a replacement. Please, if I said that the spot was reserved for AK, show me. If I even implied that, it was not my intention.

He specifically said AK was kept in reserve for SR, but now it is "If I even implied that, it was not my intention."

While this was happening, JP and I were being lovingly discussed by the wolf team:

I can't believe that crybaby posted that. I hope he gets banned form future games for publicly stating opinions on the game stay during the night phase.

Just talked to Pika. He has to talk it over with the other mod, but he said that JP will likely be modkilled, possibly with a suggestion he be banned from the next game.

Well, I think pika handled that pretty well, and cabd and jp are looking quite foolish, and will hopefully be receiving bans.

I really can't stand people who go out of their way to ruin the fun for everyone else when they don't like the game any more. :/

That being said, I think it's possible to continue on, as our big boom tonight should adequately stir up the game state anyway and create some good WIFOM situations for the town to think through.

You and I may not like each other very much, DarthPika, but calling JP and I names is hardly the way to go about being civil. It is hardly foolish to bring up legitimate concerns regarding the integrity of a major game.

2: The mod discussed mod-related issues with a living player of the game

Decisions on player punishments, mod kills, and replacements were spoken of to DarthPika while he was still playing the game. I once again quote QT number 298:

Just talked to Pika. He has to talk it over with the other mod, but he said that JP will likely be modkilled, possibly with a suggestion he be banned from the next game.

He talked to his brother about pending modkills or bans of a player that was of a different alignment. Actually, alignment does not matter, mod related issues have ZERO business being the topic of discussion with another player that is not a party in the bans or mod kills. It was extremely unethical to discuss this topic with DarthPika.

3: Town lynch was processed after the deadline had hit, should have been a no lynch

This, of course, is thunderjolt's lynch that I am talking about. Post #2138 was the last post before deadline hit. The needed two votes for a majority (to lynch) came 16 minutes and 57 minutes late, respectively. However, the lynch was processed and the townie was killed. In and of itself, mistakes happen, but with the bias previously shown before, I cannot in good faith believe it was entirely accidental.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
4: Time Extensions were granted entirely at the whim of one player's request
Time extensions were given entirely at DarthPika whim, to suit him.
Post 345, 2221, 2238 all granted requests for extensions on thread.
Wolf QT 22, 366, 332 all granted requests of extension on the QT.
Therefore, it is my findings that the Time Extensions were granted
5: The moderator ignored his own rules when his brother broke them.
roles in the OP said:
4f) DO NOT THANK players for their posts. If you do so you will receive a warning. A second infraction is a MODKILL.
Direct your eyes to post 1943, where DarthPika thanks benzo. No warning was given. Then take a look at post 2147, where pokemonplayer101 is reprimanded for liking my post. (He has since removed his thanks of my post #2144)
The game has ended, and now you resume your personal attacks? Have you not had enough, that you nearly ruined the game based on information that did not pertain to you?
I'm sorry, but you sound like a sore loser. More accurately, sore that you got caught cheating and were banned from the game. Stop taking your anger out on me, and the mod. It was a co modded game, so your points carry little weight, as BOTH mods had to approve anything that happened.
Take your sour grapes elsewhere.
Cabd, I will address your points.
1. Azure Kite was NEVER "held in reserve". I replaced players in the order they asked to be replaced when I got players to replace them. End of story.
As a side note, I'd like to point out that you and Jpulice tried to get Innocent Shine specifically to replace a member of your wolf team in WW XVII: C. Don't accuse me of doing something I never did, especially if you tried to get it done for yourself.
2. How did you get access to the wolf thread? You, nor any player not given the link by me or LEX, was supposed to have access to it, nor does anything said there about other players matter. Might I remind you of the loving things you've said about myself, DP, and other players? Again, this has no bearing on anything, players may think of you how they want, and if it's off-site, say it how they want. So don't try to make a point about how they complained about you and called you names, they can do that if they want.
3.
He talked to his brother about pending modkills or bans of a player that was of a different alignment. Actually, alignment does not matter, mod related issues have ZERO business being the topic of discussion with another player that is not a party in the bans or mod kills. It was extremely unethical to discuss this topic with DarthPika.
I was specifically asked if Jpulice was going to be modkilled as he was a potential target for the wolf kill and had broken the rules to the point of being modkilled. I did not discuss whether or not Jpulice should be modkilled, I informed DP (and the wolves) that Jpulice was probably being modkilled, so they should choose another target. I did not discuss if Jpulice would be banned or not, that is covered in the rules.
3. Are you accusing LucarioEX of bias now? Who is she biased towards? LucarioEX made a mistake, not me, there is no bias here.
4. DarthPika requested time extensions, LucarioEX and I took it into consideration because DP is not the only player who would be time restrained on those terms, and we granted it. This was not solely my decision, so unless you want to accuse LEX of bias, too, then your point is invalid.
5. Darthpika was one of many to thank that post, and that was telling everyone to chill. Your post was basically saying "I don't respect your authority because I'm posting again after I was told not to and I'm going to make a snide comment". There is a difference.
EDIT. I will say that I disagree with your being insulted in the QT, Cabd. But that's DarthPika's call to make, not mine.
