well in my opinion...if there are multiples...they aren't legendary, if they evolve or devolve they aren't legendary therefore
the list is as follows...
Groudon
Kyogre
Ho-oh
The three birds
The three Cats
Mew
Mewtwo
jirachi
and celebi ( in the movie you saw celebi traveling in/through time so you were actually see the same celebi at different points in it's time travel

and a snorlax pre-evo form ....snorlax sucks so, who really wants a "baby" that evolves into a worthless pokemon?
and one question... in the third episoide of pokemon when ash is telling Prof oak about the Bird (ho-oh)
he saw porf oak turned and pointed to a stone slab with four pokemon carved in it. he said they were all legendary pokemon. One of the pokemon was Ho-oh who were the other three

in the movie it WAS more than one celebi--misty even says "it's friends came to help it out."
also, snorlax doesn't suck. its one of the better "tank" pokemon.

This is a question right?

They are Zapdos, Articuno and Moltres.

I believe one of the pokemon on the carving was Arcanine... Not exactly sure, I better go look for pictures.

Well, according to the definition Muk Man stated, the three dogs/cats(whatever you wish to call them, it's not a big deal) can be dropped from their list, or atleast Entei. In the G/S(Forget which) pokedex entry it says something like this "Everytime an Entei is born, a new volcanoe is formed", I completely forget if their were similar statements for the other two dogs/cats.

Scientifically, Mew wouldn't be legendary, because there were obviously more in ancient times, or else there wouldn't be enough for them to survive enough to evolve into current day pokemon. Since there is really only one Mew we know of, then the species is merely endangered.

Also, since Mewtwo is a clone, and there is always the possibility to create more, it really wouldn't be a legendary, under the same definition.

Mew, Entei, and Mewtwo are ALL legendaries. Don't you know by now that the GB entries aren't always true? *hears a loud gasp* They all even have their own movies.

And for there being a ton of Mew in the past, who cares about that now? We only know of there to be one, and we know the rest of them died off. That whole Radio Drama could had just thrown that fact in and made it up themselves, it might not even be true or official. Also, Mewtwo can't be cloned anymore because Nintendo wouldn't be stupid enough to do it or would anyone else in the Pokemon world, and do you honestly think that everytime Entei roars, a volcano erupts? o_O

Entei:*roar, raaoorrr, raahhhoorrr!!!!!* Me: Ah! Entei, no, bad kitty!!!*smacks with newspaper**volcanoes in ring of fire erupt* That's it, we're dead! I told you guys, all pokemon with their own movies or those that appear in the intro to pokemon heroes are LEGENDARY. Can't beat that pimped out, cloak, strider wannabe mewtwo!

If it wasnt the first series, I would have said they were Entei, Raikou and Suicune. They seem to be directly linked to Ho-oh, according to "For Ho-oh The Bells Toll".

Oh and one thing...

The three Cats? CATS? *sigh* :nonono:

And Arcanine is debateable. Although it is not considered a "Legendary" by people, it's classification is "Legendary". So if you wanted a literal example of a legenday pokemon, there ya go.

No, the Celebi multiples were the same Celebi at different points in time... Misty misunderstood their ability! In fact, the Japanese version of Crystal specifies that a Celebi can only be born after the previous one dies...
